1011 صحيح حديث عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلاَبِ
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the killing of dogs.

Brief Explanation
Permission has been granted to keep dogs for hunting or for guarding the house and property. As for rabid dogs, or those dogs that are hostile towards humans and run to bite, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) has ordered that they be killed. (Raaz)
