عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا قَالُوا وَمَا كَرَامَةُ الضَّيْفِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ فَمَا جَلَسَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ صَدَقَةٌ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is the honor of the guest? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Three days, and if he stays after that, then hospitality for him will be charity.
