بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْخَوْفِ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ

Al-Fath ar-Rabbani 8944 — on what has been narrated regarding fear
عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ وَأَبِي الدَّهْمَاءِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَا كَانَا يُكْثِرَانِ السَّفَرَ نَحْوَ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ قَالَا أَتَيْنَا عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ فَقُلْنَا هَلْ سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا) فَقَالَ الْبَدَوِيُّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَعَلَ يُعَلِّمُنِي مِمَّا عَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى وَقَالَ إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَدَعَ شَيْئًا اتِّقَاءَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَّا أَعْطَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا مِنْهُ
It is narrated from Abu Qatadah and Abu Dahma that they used to travel frequently towards the House of Allah. They say: Once we came to a Bedouin man and asked: Have you heard any hadith from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him? The Bedouin said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, took my hand and taught me some of those things which Allah Almighty had given him knowledge of. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whatever you leave out of fear of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty will grant you something better than it.
