عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَسْلَمَ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ هُبَيْبِ بْنِ مُغْفِلٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَى مُحَمَّدًا الْقُرَشِيَّ قَامَ يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ وَفِي لَفْظٍ يَجُرُّ رِدَاءَهُ خَلْفَهُ وَيَطَؤُهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ هُبَيْبٌ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ وَطِئَهُ خُيَلَاءَ وَطِئَهُ فِي النَّارِ وَفِي لَفْظٍ مَنْ وَطِيَ عَلَى إِزَارِهِ خُيَلَاءَ وَطِيَ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Habib bin Mughaffal Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw Muhammad Quraishi standing and dragging his lower garment behind him, and he was trampling it. Sayyiduna Habib (may Allah be pleased with him) saw him and said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever tramples his garment out of arrogance, he will trample it in the fire of Hell as well.
