Sayyiduna ‘Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not eat the game killed by a slingshot, unless you slaughter it.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The command of Allah, the Exalted, is: {حُرِّمَتْ عَلَیْکُمُ الْمَیْتَۃُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ الْخِنْزِیْرِ وَمَا اُھِلَّ لِغَیْرِ اللّٰہِ بِہٖ وَالْمُنْخَنِقَۃُ وَالْمَوْقُوْذَۃُ وَالْمُتَرَدِّیَۃُ وَالنَّطِیْحَۃُ} … Forbidden to you are carrion, blood, the flesh of swine, that over which any name other than Allah’s has been invoked, that which has died by strangulation, that which has died by a blow, that which has died by falling from a height, and that which has been gored to death by horns. (Surah al-Ma’idah: 3)
