عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَازِنِيِّ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي حَسَنٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَكْرَهُ نِكَاحَ السِّرِّ حَتَّى يُضْرَبَ بِدُفٍّ وَيُقَالَ أَتَيْنَاكُمْ أَتَيْنَاكُمْ فَحَيُّونَا نُحَيِّيكُمْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Hasan Mazni (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) disliked secret marriages. He wished that the duff be played and it be announced: "We have come to you, we have come to you, you greet us with peace, we greet you with peace."
