عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الرِّبَا وَإِنْ كَثُرَ فَإِنَّ عَاقِبَتَهُ تَصِيرُ إِلَى قُلٍّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, usury, even if it increases, its end is always scarcity. The command of Allah Almighty is: {یَمْحَقُ اللّٰہُ الرِّبَا وَیُرْبِیْ الصَّدَقَاتِ۔} … Allah destroys usury and increases charity. (Surah Al-Baqarah: 276) (These words in red are explanatory.)
