عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَأْوِي إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَيَقْرَأُ سُورَةً مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَّا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكًا يَحْفَظُهُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيهِ حَتَّى يَهُبَّ مَتَى هَبَّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever comes to his bed and recites a surah from the Book of Allah, Allah Almighty sends an angel towards him, who protects him from everything that may harm him, until he wakes up, whenever he wakes up.
