عَنْ رَافِعٍ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ مَوْلَى أَبِي طَلْحَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ وَهُوَ بِمِصْرَ: مَا أَدْرِي كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِهَذِهِ الْكَرَايِيسِ؟ يَعْنِي الْكُنُفَ، وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِذَا ذَهَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْغَائِطِ أَوِ الْبَوْلِ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا))
Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) says, while he was in Egypt: "I do not know how I should use these toilets, while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has said: 'When anyone goes to urinate or defecate, he should neither face the Qiblah nor turn his back towards it.'"
