Chapter on Sharing in the Sacrificial Animal, and That a Camel or Cow Suffices for Seven
Al-Fath ar-Rabbani 4618 — on Sharing in the Sacrificial Animal
عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ سَاقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ الْحُدَيْبِيَّةِ سَبْعِينَ بَدَنَةً قَالَ فَنَحَرَ الْبَدَنَةَ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took seventy camels in the year of Hudaybiyyah, and he also said: On that occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had one camel slaughtered on behalf of seven people.
