Hadith 325

عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ وَسَنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ السُّنَنَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: اتَّبِعُونَا فَوَاللَّهِ! إِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلُوا تَضِلُّوا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Noble Qur'an was revealed and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) established various ways, then he said: "So follow us, the Companions. By Allah, if you do not do so, you will go astray."

Benefits: … The intent of Sayyiduna Imran (radi Allahu anhu) is that the noble Companions (Sahabah kiram) were those who knew the stages of the Noble Qur’an and witnessed the Sunnahs of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam); therefore, in this regard, it is necessary to follow them.
