بَابُ الْمُبَادَرَةِ إِلَى تَجْهِيزِ الْمَيِّتِ وَقَضَاءِ دَيْنِهِ
Chapter on hastening to prepare the deceased and paying his debts
Al-Fath ar-Rabbani 3040 — on hastening to prepare the deceased
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((نَفْسُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مُعَلَّقَةٌ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The soul of a believer is held back until his debt is paid off.
