البابُ السَّابِعُ فِيمَا جَاءَ فِي خَرَابِ الْمَدِينَةِ آخِرَ الزَّمَانِ
The seventh chapter regarding what has come about the ruin of Madinah at the end of time
Al-Fath ar-Rabbani 12668 — The seventh chapter regarding what has come
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ آخَرَ) يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلْمَدِينَةِ: ”لَتَتْرُكَنَّهَا عَلَى خَيْرِ مَا كَانَتْ مُذَلَّلَةً لِلْعَوَافِي يَعْنِي السِّبَاعَ وَالطَّيْرَ“
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said regarding Madinah: "You people will leave this city for the beasts and birds, despite your prosperity."
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Although the transfer of the caliphate from Madinah Munawwarah to Shaam and Iraq has been considered as the application of this hadith, the reality of the matter is that these circumstances will manifest near the Day of Judgment. Hafiz Ibn Hajar has also mentioned various evidences. (See: Fath al-Bari: 4/111, 112)
