حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَالِكَ بْنَ دِينَارٍ يَقُولُ يَقُولُ النَّاسُ مَالِكُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ يَعْنِي مَالِكَ بْنَ دِينَارٍ زَاهِدٌ إِنَّمَا الزَّاهِدُ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الَّذِي أَتَتْهُ الدُّنْيَا فَتَرَكَهَا
It is narrated from Malik bin Dinar, he says: People say that Malik bin Dinar is an ascetic and righteous man, whereas the true ascetic is Umar bin Abdul Aziz, to whom the world came but he rejected it.
