(Second chain) There is a similar narration, except that in it: After those gentlemen, trials befell us, then what Allah Almighty willed, happened. Abu Abdur Rahman says: My father said that when Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that after those gentlemen, trials befell us, he said this out of humility.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From this chapter it is understood that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not explicitly present the name of any Companion as a caliph. However, from some ahadith, there are indications towards the caliphate of the Rightly Guided Caliphs (khulafa’ al-rashidun), such as in the ahadith mentioned in the chapter of hadith number (12153), where there is an indication towards the caliphate of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu.
His (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) statement: ((Al-a’immah min Quraysh)) Explanation of the Prophetic statement: “The leaders (imams) are from Quraysh”
