Al-Fath ar-Rabbani 11806 — on What Has Been Narrated Regarding
وَعَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ شَهِدَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ الْفَتْحَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً وَمَعَهُ فَرَسٌ حَرُونٌ وَرُمْحٌ ثَقِيلٌ فَذَهَبَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَخْتَلِي لِفَرَسِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ“
It is narrated from Mujahid that on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was present and he was twenty years old. He had a splendid horse and a rather heavy spear. Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went to cut grass for his horse, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Abdullah is a righteous man, indeed, Abdullah is a righteous man.
