بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسِ رَضِىَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْا
Chapter on What Has Been Narrated Regarding Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them
Al-Fath ar-Rabbani 11790 — on What Has Been Narrated Regarding
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى كَتِفِي أَوْ عَلَى مَنْكَبِي، شَكَّ سَعِيدٌ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: ”اللَّهُمَّ فَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ وَعَلِّمْهُ التَّأْوِيلَ“
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand on his shoulder and made this supplication: O Allah! Grant him understanding in religion and knowledge of interpretation.
