عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ إِذَا لَقِيَ الرَّجُلَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ يَقُولُ تَعَالَ نُؤْمِنْ بِرَبِّنَا سَاعَةً فَقَالَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ لِرَجُلٍ فَغَضِبَ الرَّجُلُ فَجَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَا تَرَى إِلَى ابْنِ رَوَاحَةَ يُرَغِّبُ عَنْ إِيمَانِكَ إِلَى إِيمَانِ سَاعَةٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ ابْنَ رَوَاحَةَ إِنَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمَجَالِسَ الَّتِي تُبَاهِي بِهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that it was the habit of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever he met any of his friends, he would say to him: "Come, let us sit for a while and believe in our Lord" (i.e., by talking about the Lord, let us renew our faith). In the same way, he said this to a man, and he became angry. He went and said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! Look at Ibn Rawahah, he turns away from your faith and inclines towards faith for a while." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah have mercy on Ibn Rawahah, he likes such gatherings upon which the angels are pleased."
