بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ارَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ
Chapter on What Has Been Narrated Regarding Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa, may Allah be pleased with him
Al-Fath ar-Rabbani 11769 — on What Has Been Narrated Regarding
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ) قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ بِصَدَقَتِهِ قَالَ ”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ فُلَانٍ“ قَالَ فَأَتَاهُ أَبِي بِصَدَقَتِهِ فَقَالَ ”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ أَبِي أَوْفَى“
(Third chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa رضي الله عنه, who was among the Companions of the Tree, that when someone would bring charity to the service of the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم, he would pray for him in this way: O Allah! Have mercy on the family of so-and-so. When my father brought charity to the service, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم prayed in this way: ALLAHUMMA SALLI ‘ALA AALI ABI AWFA (O Allah! Send blessings upon the family of Abu Awfa).
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam made a supplication for mercy (du'a-e-rahmah) for Sayyiduna Abu Awfa radi Allahu anhu and his family.
