عَنْ أَبِي عُقْبَةَ وَكَانَ مَوْلًى مِنْ أَهْلِ فَارِسَ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَضَرَبْتُ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقُلْتُ خُذْهَا مِنِّي وَأَنَا الْغُلَامُ الْفَارِسِيُّ فَبَلَغَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ ”هَلَّا قُلْتَ خُذْهَا مِنِّي وَأَنَا الْغُلَامُ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Persian slave, that he said: I was with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Battle of Uhud. I struck a polytheist with great force and said: "Taste this, I am a Persian boy." When this reached the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Why did you not say, 'Taste this, I am an Ansari boy'?"
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is better to adopt an Islamic affiliation; affiliation to the Ansar is an Islamic affiliation, whereas the people of Persia were disbelievers, and affiliating oneself to them was an act of ignorance.
