عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْأَلُهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَنَمًا بَيْنَ جَبَلَيْنِ فَأَتَى الرَّجُلُ قَوْمَهُ فَقَالَ أَيْ قَوْمِي أَسْلِمُوا فَوَاللَّهِ إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا لَيُعْطِي عَطِيَّةَ رَجُلٍ مَا يَخَافُ الْفَاقَةَ أَوْ قَالَ الْفَقْرَ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ ثَابِتٌ قَالَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ إِنْ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ لَيَأْتِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسْلِمُ مَا يُرِيدُ إِلَّا أَنْ يُصِيبَ عَرَضًا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا أَوْ قَالَ دُنْيَا يُصِيبُهَا فَمَا يُمْسِي مِنْ يَوْمِهِ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ دِينُهُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ أَوْ قَالَ أَكْبَرَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to ask for something. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) gave him all the goats that were in the valley between two mountains. He went to his people and said: O my people! Accept Islam. By Allah! Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) gives so much that he does not fear poverty at all. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that a man would come to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to become Muslim, and his intention would only be to gain worldly benefit, but before evening, the religion would become dearer and more beloved to him than all the wealth of the world.
