بَابُ إِذَا أَحَبَّ رَجُلًا فَلَا يُمَارِهِ وَلَا يَسْأَلُ عَنْهُ

Al-Adab al-Mufrad 546 — If You Love Someone, Do Not Argue or Inquire
حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ”مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَخًا لِلَّهِ، فِي اللهِ، قَالَ: إِنِّي أُحِبُّكَ لِلَّهِ، فَدَخَلاَ جَمِيعًا الْجَنَّةَ، كَانَ الَّذِي أَحَبَّ فِي اللهِ أَرْفَعَ دَرَجَةً لِحُبِّهِ، عَلَى الَّذِي أَحَبَّهُ لَهُ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever loves any of his religious brothers for the sake of Allah and says, 'I love you for the sake of Allah,' then both of them will enter Paradise together. The person who loved solely for the sake of Allah will have a higher rank than the one who loved him because of that love."
