Al-Adab al-Mufrad 1033 — How to reply to Salam
حَدَّثَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ، سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ إِذَا سُلِّمَ عَلَيْهِ يَقُولُ: وَعَلَيْكَ، وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ.
It is narrated from Abu Jamrah (may Allah have mercy on him) that I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when he was greeted with Salam, he would reply: «وعلیک ورحمۃ الله».
