Sunan Abu Dawud 4074 — Regarding Black
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : " صَنَعْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بُرْدَةً سَوْدَاءَ فَلَبِسَهَا فَلَمَّا عَرَقَ فِيهَا وَجَدَ رِيحَ الصُّوفِ ، فَقَذَفَهَا ، قَالَ : وَأَحْسِبُهُ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ تُعْجِبُهُ الرِّيحُ الطَّيِّبَةُ " .
Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: I made a black cloak for the Prophet ﷺ and he put it on; but when he sweated in it and noticed the odour of the wool, he threw it away. The narrator said: I think he said: He liked good smell.
