Sunan Abu Dawud 2192 — Regarding A Divorce Before The Marriage
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ السَّرْحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ : زَادَ : " وَلَا نَذْرَ إِلَّا فِيمَا ابْتُغِيَ بِهِ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى ذِكْرُهُ " .
The above tradition has also been transmitted by Amr bin Shuaib through a different chain of narrators. This version adds The Prophet ﷺ said “There is no vow except in an act which seeks the pleasure of Allah, the Exalted.
