Do you not see the suffering we are enduring? Noah (peace be upon him) will say: Indeed, my Lord is so angry today that He has never been so angry before, nor will He be so angry afterward. I forbid you from polytheism and arrogance and command you If the heavens, the earth, and all that is between them were placed on the scale of good deeds and لا إله إلا الله on the other scale, the latter would outweigh the former. And if the heavens and the earth were a chain and لا إله إلا الله was placed upon it, this word would break it. And I command you to say سبحان الله وبحمده, for it is the prayer of everything.

“And Saeed bin Jubair says: I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Nauf al-Shami thinks that the Musa who met Khidr was not the Musa of Bani Israel. He said: The enemy of Allah, Nauf, has lied. Sayyiduna Ubay bin Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, Musa (peace be upon him) stood addressing Bani Israel, and the people asked him: Who among the people has the most knowledge? He said: I do. Then Allah revealed to him that there is a servant of Mine who has more knowledge than you. He said: O my Lord! Then show him to me. He was told to catch a fish and put it in a basket; wherever he loses it, there he will find that servant. So he caught a fish and put it in a basket, and he and his companion started walking towards the shore until they reached a rock. Musa (peace be upon him) slept there, and the fish moved in the basket and jumped into the sea. Allah stopped the water at the place where the fish entered (thus it appeared like a cave). When the water became turbulent, Musa (peace be upon him) woke up and said to his young companion: ‘Bring our food; we have certainly suffered fatigue from this journey.’

Musa (peace be upon him) felt tired after passing that place, which Allah had commanded. The young man replied: Did you see? While we were resting by leaning on the rock, I forgot the fish; indeed, Satan made me forget. So they returned searching for the footprints. They began to look for their footprints, and the fish made its way in the river in a unique way. Allah stopped the flow of water, and the place appeared like a ledge. This was a strange thing for the fish and unusual for Musa (peace be upon him). Eventually, they both reached that rock. Upon reaching the desired place, they saw a man covered with a cloth. Musa (peace be upon him) greeted him, and he replied: How did peace come to your area? Musa said: I am Musa. Khidr said: Musa of Bani Israel? He said: Yes, I will follow you if you teach me that righteous knowledge.

Khidr said: O Musa! Indeed, I have been given knowledge from Allah that you do not know, and you have been given knowledge from Him that I do not know. Then both of them set out towards the shore (and Khidr forbade Musa from asking about anything). A boat passed by, and they recognized Khidr, so they allowed him to board without any fare, which surprised them. Then Khidr looked at the boat and took an axe to break one of its planks. Musa (peace be upon him) said: These people took us aboard without fare, and now you want to break the boat and drown all the passengers? He said: I had already told you that you would never be able to be patient with me. Musa said: Indeed, I forgot. Then a bird came and dipped its beak into the sea. Khidr said: O Musa! Our knowledge and your knowledge are as little compared to Allah’s knowledge as this bird is compared to this sea. Then they continued until they came to a village and asked its people for food, but they refused hospitality. Also, Khidr saw a boy there and killed him by striking his head off. Musa said: Did you kill an innocent soul without any right? Indeed, you have done a very disliked act. He said: Did I not tell you that you would never be able to be patient with me? Amr narrated that this was a harder task than the previous ones. Then they continued, and when Khidr saw a wall about to collapse, he straightened it. Sufyan the narrator described this by raising his hand, then placing his palms, and then raising them from the inner side of the palms. Musa said: If you wished, you could have taken a wage for this. He said: This is the separation between you and me. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The first time Musa (peace be upon him) forgot. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: May Allah have mercy on Musa (peace be upon him). I wish he had been patient so that he could have explained more of his affairs to us.”

“And it is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) set out towards Badr, he came outside and consulted the people. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a suggestion, then the Prophet (peace be upon him) sought advice again, this time Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave an opinion, but the Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. Then an Ansari stood up and said: O Ansaris! The Prophet (peace be upon him) is addressing you. So they said: O Messenger of Allah! By Allah, we will not be like the Children of Israel who said to Prophet Musa (peace be upon him): ‘You go and your Lord go and fight, and we will sit here.’ By Allah, O Messenger of Allah! If you travel striking the humps of camels until you reach Barq al-Ghamad, we will stay with you.”

“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Waqid Al-Laythi, may Allah be pleased with him, that he set out with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, from Makkah towards Hunayn. On the way, there was a berry tree belonging to the disbelievers, near which they used to camp and hang their weapons. It was called Dhatu Anwat. The narrator says: So when we passed by a lush and large berry tree, we said: O Messenger of Allah! Make for us a Dhatu Anwat. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: By the One in whose hand is my soul! You have said exactly what the people of Musa (Moses), peace be upon him, said. They said: So make for us a god like their gods. Indeed, you are a people who are ignorant. These were the ways of Bani Israel; you will adopt all the ways of the previous peoples one by one.”

Hadith 21

“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Various nations were presented before me; with some prophets there was a group, with some a single individual, with some two individuals, and with some none at all. Suddenly, I was shown a large army. I asked: Is this my nation? I was told: This is Musa (Moses) (peace be upon him) and his people. Now look towards the horizon; there was another large army. Then I was told: Now look this way; there was also a large army. Then I was told: This is your nation, and with them are seventy thousand people who will enter Paradise without reckoning or punishment. The Companions discussed among themselves and said: Perhaps these are the people who stayed with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Someone said: It seems these are the people who were born into Islam and never associated partners with Allah. Other Companions mentioned further opinions. At that moment, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to them and asked: What were you discussing? They informed him of their conversation. He said: The people who will enter Paradise without reckoning or punishment are those who neither tattoo themselves, nor have hair extensions, nor take bad omens, and they only rely upon their Lord. Sayyidna Ukasha bin Mihsan Al-Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! I am among them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: You are among them. Then another man stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! I am also among them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Ukasha has preceded you.”

Sheikh Shoaib has declared its chain of narration strong.
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) passed by the city of Thamud, Al-Hijr, during the expedition of Tabuk, he said: Do not demand signs like miracles. The people of Saleh (peace be upon him) asked for such signs, (so their demand was fulfilled in the form of a she-camel), it used to come from one path and go out from another, but they rebelled and cut its tendons. It used to drink their water in one day, and they drank its milk in one day, but they cut its tendons. Because of this, a scream overwhelmed them, and Allah Almighty destroyed all of them beneath the lower level of the sky, only one man survived, he was in the sanctuary of Allah. Someone asked: Who was that man? O Messenger of Allah! You (peace be upon him) said: He was Abur Ghal, when he left the sanctuary, he was afflicted with the same calamity that his people were afflicted with.”

“And it is narrated from Sayyiduna Saad رضي الله عنه, who said: I passed by Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan رضي الله عنه while he was sitting in the mosque, and I greeted him, but he looked at me intently and did not respond to my greeting. So I went to Amir al-Mu’minin Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab رضي الله عنه and said: O Amir al-Mu’minin! Has something new appeared in Islam? I asked twice, and he said: No, what is the matter? I said: Nothing, except that I just passed by Sayyiduna Uthman رضي الله عنه, greeted him, and he looked at me intently but did not respond to my greeting. Sayyiduna Umar رضي الله عنه called Sayyiduna Uthman رضي الله عنه and said to him: What prevented you from responding to your brother’s greeting? He said: I did not do such a thing. Sayyiduna Saad رضي الله عنه said: No, it happened like that, to the extent that he swore and I also swore. Then Sayyiduna Uthman رضي الله عنه said: Yes, indeed, and I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him. You just passed by me while I was recalling a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم in my heart. No, by Allah, whenever I remember this hadith, a veil falls over my eyes and heart. Sayyiduna Saad رضي الله عنه said: I will also tell you something. One day the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم wanted to tell us this matter about the first prayer, then a Bedouin came to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and occupied him. When the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم stood up, I also followed behind him. When I suspected that he might go ahead of me towards his house, I stamped my foot on the ground. Then the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم turned towards me and said: Who is this? Abu Ishaq? I said: Yes. O Messenger of Allah! He said: What is it? I said: By Allah! Nothing, except that you صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned the first prayer, then this Bedouin came and occupied you. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: Yes, that is the prayer of the fishmonger, when he was in the belly of the fish, he made this prayer:

“There is no deity worthy of worship except You, You are pure, surely I am among the wrongdoers.”

Sheikh Shoaib has declared it authentic.
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Harith Al-Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم said: Indeed, Allah Almighty commanded Yahya bin Zakariya (peace be upon him) with five words that he himself should act upon and also command Bani Israel to act upon them. He delayed in informing the people, so Jesus (peace be upon him) said to him: You were commanded regarding five words that you yourself should act upon and also command Bani Israel to act upon them. Now will you inform them or shall I inform them? He said: O my brother! If you inform them before me, I fear that I might be punished or destroyed. So Yahya (peace be upon him) gathered Bani Israel in Jerusalem until the mosque was full, then he sat on a high place. He praised and glorified Allah Almighty and then said: Indeed, Allah Almighty has commanded me with five words that I myself should act upon and command you to act upon them. The first command is that you worship Allah Almighty and associate nothing with Him. Surely, the example of a polytheist is like a man who bought a slave with his pure silver or gold, but the slave began to work for someone other than his master. Now, which of you would be pleased if his slave were like this? Allah Almighty created you and provided for you, so worship Him alone and associate no one with Him. And I command you to pray, for indeed Allah Almighty keeps His face attentive to the servant’s face until he turns away. So when you pray, do not look around. And I command you to fast, their example is like a man who has a musk pouch and everyone smells the musk’s fragrance. The changed smell of the fasting person’s mouth is purer in the sight of Allah Almighty than the fragrance of musk. And I command you to give charity, its example is like a person whose enemy has imprisoned him and tied his hands to his neck and is bringing him close to be beheaded, and he says ahead: If I pay you ransom in exchange for my life, will you let me go? Then he starts giving small and large ransoms until he saves himself. And I command you to remember Allah abundantly, its example is like a man whose enemy is chasing him hastily, but he reaches a strong fortress and locks himself inside. Indeed, the servant is most protected from Satan when he is engaged in the remembrance of Allah. Then the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: I also command you with five things, Allah Almighty has commanded me with them. (These five things are:) Congregation, listening to and obeying the leader, migration, and striving in the way of Allah. So whoever leaves the congregation by even the length of a small pillow has removed the covenant of Islam from his neck until he returns, and whoever calls to ignorance will be among the people of Hell. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! Even if he fasts and prays? He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: Even if he fasts and prays and thinks he is a Muslim, then call the Muslims by the names Allah has preserved for them, that is, Muslim, believer, servant of Allah.”

Imam Hakim said that this hadith is authentic for many reasons and I am surprised that Bukhari and Muslim did not authenticate it.
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat Husain (may Allah be pleased with them) are the leaders of all the youth of Paradise, except for two maternal cousins, Hazrat Yahya and Hazrat Isa (peace be upon them).”

And indeed, those who differ concerning him are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption, and they did not kill him, certainly. Rather, Allah raised him up to Himself. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.”

Hadith 30

He will say: No, you are the leaders and imams of one another; this is the honor and dignity Allah has given to this Ummah.”

Hadith 31

Sheikh Shoaib has declared it authentic.
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: The noble prophets are brothers in lineage; their mothers are different, but their religion is one. I am the closest to Jesus son of Mary (peace be upon him) in this world and the Hereafter. There is no prophet between me and him. Indeed, he will descend, so recognize him. He will be of moderate height, his complexion will be reddish-white, and he will wear two light yellow garments. It will appear as if water is dripping from his head, although no moisture will be present (meaning he will appear extremely pure and radiant). He will break the cross, kill the pig, abolish the jizya, and invite people to Islam. Then Allah Almighty will eliminate all religions except Islam during his era. Allah will kill the False Messiah (Dajjal) during his time. There will be such peace and security on earth that snakes will graze with camels, cheetahs with cows, and wolves with goats. Children will play with snakes, and they will not harm them. Jesus (peace be upon him) will live on earth for forty years, then he will die, and Muslims will perform his funeral prayer and bury him.”

And I also saw Hazrat Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon him), who appeared fresh and pure as if he had just come out of a bathhouse. And among the descendants of Hazrat Ibrahim (Abraham) (peace be upon him), I resembled him very much. During this, two vessels were brought to me. One contained milk and the other wine. So, whoever among my Ummah has the time for prayer, let him pray. And the spoils of war have been made lawful for me, which were not lawful for anyone before me. And I have been granted intercession (I will intercede for my Ummah). And every prophet was sent to his own people, but I have been sent as a prophet to all mankind.”
