Condemnation of Shirk (Polytheism)
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating others with Him (shirk), but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And whoever associates others with Allah has certainly gone far astray.”
❀ And Allah Almighty has said:
“This is the guidance of Allah; He guides whom He wills among His servants. And if they had associated others with Him, then worthless would have been whatever they were doing.”
Hadith 1
“It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said three times: Shall I not inform you of the greatest of sins? The companions said: Why not, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace be upon him) said: Associating others with Allah (shirk) and disobedience to parents.”
Allah Almighty is Established on the Throne
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then He established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, rapidly pursuing it, and He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Indeed, creation and command belong to Him. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.”
❀ And Allah Almighty has said:
“He is the Most Merciful, established above the Throne.”
Hadith 2
“And Hazrat Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Al-Hakam Al-Sulmi, may Allah be pleased with him, asked the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, about freeing his slave girl. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: Bring her. When the slave girl came to the Noble Messenger, peace be upon him, he asked her: Where is Allah? She said: In the sky. Then he asked: Who am I? She said: You are the Messenger of Allah. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to Muawiyah, may Allah be pleased with him: She is a believer; free her.”
Hadith 3
Ibn Hibban has declared it authentic.
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty made the decree of creation, it was written in a book that is with Him that My mercy has prevailed over My wrath or My mercy has taken precedence over My anger. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: That book is with Allah Almighty on the Throne.”
Hadith 4
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: The angels of the night and the angels of the day come and go before and behind you, and they gather at the Fajr and Asr prayers. Then the angels who were with you at night ascend, and Allah Almighty asks them, although He knows well in what state you left My servants. They reply that when we left them and when we came to them, they were praying.”
Knowledge of the unseen belongs only to Allah Almighty
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“(O Prophet!) Say: I do not tell you that I have the treasures of Allah, nor do I know the unseen, nor do I say to you that I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me. Say: Can the blind and the seeing be equal? Then will you not reflect?”
❀ And Allah Almighty has said:
“And I do not say to you that I have the treasures of Allah, nor do I know the unseen, nor do I say that indeed I am an angel, nor do I say to those whom your eyes despise that Allah will never grant them any good. Allah knows best what is in their souls. Indeed, if I were to say this, I would surely be among the wrongdoers.”
Hadith 5
“And Sayyidna Mu’adh bin Afra’s daughter Rabi’ narrates that Sayyida Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) came to me when I had just come to my husband after marriage. The Prophet (peace be upon him) sat on my bed just as you are sitting. (This was said by Sayyida Rabi’ (may Allah be pleased with her) to the narrator of the hadith Khalid bin Zikwan.) Some of our girls were playing the drum and praising their forefathers who were martyred in the Battle of Badr. Then suddenly one girl said: ‘And among us is a Prophet who knows what will happen tomorrow.’ The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘Do not say that, say only what you were saying.'”
Hadith 6
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: Whoever tells you that Muhammad (peace be upon him) saw his Lord, then he is lying because Allah Almighty says, ‘No vision can grasp Him.’ And whoever tells you that the Prophet (peace be upon him) knew the unseen, then indeed he has lied because Allah Himself says that the knowledge of the unseen belongs to none but Allah.”
Statement on the Condemnation of Calling upon Others besides Allah
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“(O Prophet!) Say: Do you worship besides Allah that which neither harms you nor benefits you? And Allah is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”
❀ And Allah Almighty has said:
“(O Prophet!) Say: Shall we call upon besides Allah those who neither benefit us nor harm us? And when Allah has guided us, then who can lead us astray after Him? So we will not be like one who is confused on the earth, wandering about, having companions calling him to guidance, ‘Come to us.’ Say: Indeed, the guidance is only with Allah, and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.”
Hadith 7
“And Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) said: In one hadith the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said one thing, and in another I said. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: Whoever dies associating partners with Allah will enter Hell. I said: Whoever dies without associating anyone as a partner with Him will enter Paradise.”
Hadith 8
Imam Tirmidhi has graded it Hasan Sahih.
“And Hazrat Numan bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: Prayer is worship, then He recited this verse: ‘And your Lord says, “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.”‘ Indeed, those who are arrogant in My worship will soon enter Hell in humiliation and disgrace.”
The Chosen One is Only Allah Almighty
Allah Almighty has said:
“Say: I do not have control over any benefit or harm to myself except what Allah wills. And if I had knowledge of the unseen, I would have acquired much good and no harm would have touched me. I am only a warner and a bringer of good tidings to those who believe.”
Hadith 9
«وعن أبى هريرة رضى الله عنه قال: قام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حين أنزل الله: ﴿وَاَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ﴾ He said: O people of Quraysh or words to that effect, save yourselves; I cannot avail you against Allah at all. O sons of Abd Manaf, I cannot avail you against Allah at all. O Abbas ibn Abdul Muttalib, I cannot avail you against Allah at all. And O Safiyya, the aunt of the Messenger of Allah, I cannot avail you against Allah at all. And O Fatimah bint Muhammad, ask from my wealth whatever you wish; I cannot avail you against Allah at all.”
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse ﴿وَاَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الْأَقْرَبِينَ﴾ (O Muhammad! Warn your relatives) was revealed to the Prophet (peace be upon him), he stood up and said: O people of Quraysh! He said similar words, save yourselves; I cannot avail you against Allah at all. O sons of Abd Manaf! I cannot avail you against Allah at all. O Safiyya! I cannot avail you against Allah at all. And O Fatimah! Ask from my wealth whatever you want; I cannot avail you against Allah at all.”
Was the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, the Light of the Lights of Allah?
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“Or do you have a house of gold, or do you ascend into the sky, and indeed, We will not believe in your ascension until you bring down to us a book that we may read.” Say: “My Lord is Most Pure; I am only a human messenger.”
❀ And Allah Almighty has said:
“Say, I am only a human like you, to whom it has been revealed that your god is one God. So take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness. And woe to the polytheists.”
Hadith 10
“And Hazrat Umrah says that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was asked: What did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) do when he came home? She said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was a human being among humans; he would clean his clothes, milk his goat, and serve himself, that is, he used to do his personal tasks himself.”
Hadith 11
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Rafi’ bin Khadij رضي الله عنه, who said: When the Prophet of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم came to Medina, the people there used to graft date palms. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم asked: What are you doing? They said: We have been doing this. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: If you do not do this, it might be better. They stopped doing it, and the dates decreased. The companions رضي الله عنهم mentioned this to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. He said: I am a human; when I give you a command regarding religion, accept it immediately. And when I give a command based on my opinion, I am a human.”
Hadith 12
“And it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed Zuhr with five rak’ahs. Then it was asked, ‘Has the prayer been increased?’ He said, ‘What is that?’ The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said that you prayed five rak’ahs. Then after giving the salam, the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed two prostrations. And in another narration, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘Indeed, I am like you, a human being who forgets just as you forget. So when I forget, remind me.’ And when any of you doubts his prayer, he should think correctly and complete his prayer, then give the salam and perform two prostrations (prostration of forgetfulness).”
Statement condemning innovation (Bid’ah)
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.”
❀ And Allah Almighty has said:
“And indeed, this is My straight path, so follow it, and do not follow other paths, for they will separate you from His way. Allah has enjoined upon you this that you may become righteous.”
Hadith 13
“And it is narrated from Abu Hazim, who said: I heard Hazrat Suhail (may Allah be pleased with him) (son of Saad Saadi) saying: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say: I will be the first to reach my pond; whoever comes to drink from this pond will drink and never be thirsty again. Many people will come to me; I will know them, and they will know me, then a barrier will be placed between me and them.” Abu Hazim said: I was narrating this hadith to the listeners when Nu’man bin Abi Ayyash also heard it and said: Did you hear Suhail (may Allah be pleased with him) say it exactly like this? I said: Yes.”
Hadith 14
“And he (Nu’man ibn Abi ‘Ayyash) said: And I bear witness that I heard Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) say, he used to add these words in this (hadith) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: These are my (followers), then it will be said: You do not know what they did after you. So I will say: Curse and destruction be upon those who altered (the religion) after me.”
Hadith 15
“And it is narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Whoever introduces into our religion something new which is not part of it, it is rejected.”
Condemnation of Excessiveness in Religion
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“O People of the Scripture! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not say anything but the truth about Allah. Indeed, Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, is but a messenger of Allah and His word which He conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and do not say ‘Three.’ Refrain from this; it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.”
Hadith 16
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of stoning the Jamrah Aqabah in the morning, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was mounted on his she-camel, then he said: Beware of exaggeration in religion, for it was exaggeration in religion that destroyed those before you.”
Hadith 17
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was standing on the pulpit and said, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Do not exalt my status as the Christians exalted the son of Mary, for I am only His servant, so say عبده ورسوله You are the servant of Allah and His Messenger.”
Belief and Intercession of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“And there are many angels in the heavens whose intercession will not avail except after Allah permits for whom He wills and approves.”
Hadith 18
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Every prophet had one supplication that was surely accepted. Every prophet hastened to make that supplication, and I have reserved my supplication for the Hereafter. God willing, my intercession will reach every person from my Ummah who dies in a state that he does not associate anyone with Allah.”
Respect and Honor of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them)
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“Then if they believe in the like of that which you believe in, then surely they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allah will suffice you against them, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.”
❀ And Allah Almighty has said:
“And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers, We will turn him to what he has turned to, and We will throw him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.”
Hadith 19
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Do not insult my companions, for if any one of you were to spend gold equal to the mountain of Uhud, it would still not reach the value of one mudd (650 grams) and half of that of the companions.”
Statement on Loving the Ahl al-Bayt
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“And stay in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet’s] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification. And remember what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah and wisdom. Indeed, Allah is ever Subtle and Acquainted.”
❀ And Allah Almighty has said:
“This is the good news which Allah gives to His servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Say, ‘I do not ask you for it any payment [but] only good will through kinship.’ And whoever does a good deed – We will increase for him good therein. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Appreciative.”
Hadith 20
“And Hazrat Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) says: There is a place between Makkah and Madinah where water is found, called خم. (On the return from the Farewell Pilgrimage) one day the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood there to deliver a sermon. He praised and glorified Allah, gave admonition and advice, then said: ‘As for what follows, O people! I am a man (who is about to die). It is near that the Messenger of Allah (i.e., the Angel) will come to me and I will respond to him. (Remember!) I am leaving among you two important things. The first is the Book of Allah, in which there is guidance and light. Take your rulings from it and hold firmly to it.’ In short, the Prophet (peace be upon him) urged the people to act upon the Holy Quran and encouraged them to do so. Then he said: ‘The second thing is my Ahl al-Bayt (family). I remind you of Allah regarding my Ahl al-Bayt.'”
Belief in the Punishment of the Grave
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or says, ‘It has been revealed to me,’ while nothing has been revealed to him, and one who says, ‘I can reveal the like of what Allah has revealed.’ Would that you could see when the wrongdoers are in the overwhelming pangs of death while the angels are stretching forth their hands, [saying], ‘Deliver your souls! Today you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation for what you used to say against Allah other than the truth and [that] you were, toward His verses, being arrogant.'”
❀ And Allah Almighty has said:
“And among the bedouins around you are hypocrites, and [also] among the people of Madinah. They have become accustomed to hypocrisy. You, [O Muhammad], do not know them, but We know them. We will punish them twice; then they will be returned to a great punishment.”
Hadith 21
«وعن البراء بن عازب عن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ﴿يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ﴾ (14-إبراهيم:27) He said: It was revealed concerning the punishment of the grave, where it is said to him, “Who is your Lord?” He says, “My Lord is Allah and my Prophet is Muhammad.” This is the meaning of the Almighty’s statement ﴿يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ﴾ »
“And it is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara ibn Azib, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said regarding the verse ﴿يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ﴾
that this verse was revealed about the punishment of the grave. (In the grave, the deceased is asked) ‘Who is your Lord?’ So he says, ‘My Lord is Allah and my Prophet is Muhammad, peace be upon him.’ This is the meaning of Allah’s statement ﴿يُثَبِّتُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ﴾.”
Hadith 22
“And Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) passed by two graves, and he said: The occupants of these graves are being punished, and they are not being punished for a major sin, but one of them did not avoid urinating on others, and the other used to engage in backbiting. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that then the Prophet (peace be upon him) took a green twig, broke it into two pieces, and placed them on the two graves, and he said: Until these twigs dry up, perhaps Allah will lessen their punishment.”
Hadith 23
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Aisha Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) that a Jewish woman came to her, so she mentioned the torment of the grave and said to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), ‘May Allah protect you from the torment of the grave.’ Then Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about the torment of the grave, and he (peace be upon him) said: Yes! The torment of the grave is true. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that after that, I always saw that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did not offer any prayer without seeking refuge from the torment of the grave.”
Condemnation of Grave Worship
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“You cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs.”
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“And among His signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostrate to Allah who created them, if you truly worship Him alone.”
Hadith 24
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say five days before his death: ‘I declare before Allah that none of you is my Khalil (close friend), for Allah has made Me His Khalil, just as He made Ibrahim (peace be upon him) His Khalil. If I were to make anyone from my Ummah my Khalil, I would have made Abu Bakr my Khalil. Beware! The people before you used to make the graves of their prophets and righteous people into mosques or places of prostration. Beware! Do not make graves into mosques, indeed I forbid you from that.'”
Hadith 25
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Aisha Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: When the Angel of Death came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), he covered his face with his cloak, and when he began to suffocate, he removed it. At that moment, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘May the curse of Allah be upon the Jews and Christians, for they have made the graves of their prophets into places of worship.’ The Prophet (peace be upon him) was warning his Ummah against this reprehensible act. Umm al-Mu’minin (may Allah be pleased with her) said that if it were not for the Prophet’s warning and the curse upon the Jews and Christians, his grave would have been made outside the house and shown openly to the people, but the Prophet (peace be upon him) feared that his grave would be turned into a place of prostration.”
Hadith 26
“And Hazrat Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) said that when I came to the city of Hira in Yemen, I saw the people there prostrating before their ruler. I thought that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is more deserving of prostration. So when I came before the noble presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), I said: O Messenger of Allah! I saw the people of Hira prostrating before their ruler, while you are more deserving of prostration. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Tell me, if you pass by my grave, will you prostrate on it? I said: No. The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Then do not do it now either.”
Hadith 27
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, I have several names: I am Muhammad, Ahmad, I am Al-Mahi (the eraser) through whom Allah will erase disbelief, and I am Al-Hashir (the gatherer) upon whose footsteps people will be raised, and I am Al-Aqib (the last) after whom there is no prophet.”
Belief in the Finality of Prophethood
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets. And Allah is ever, of all things, Knowing.”
Hadith 28
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: I have been given superiority over the noble Prophets (peace be upon them) in six things. I have been granted comprehensive words. I have been supported with awe. The spoils of war have been made lawful for me. The earth has been made a mosque and a means of purification for me. I have been sent to all creation. And the chain of Prophets has ended with me.”
Belief in the Life of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him)
❀ Allah Almighty said:
“When Allah said: O Jesus! Indeed, I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve, and make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.”
❀ And Allah Almighty said:
“And because of their saying, ‘We killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah,’ but they did not kill him nor crucify him, but it was made to appear so to them. And indeed, those who differ about him are in doubt concerning him. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for Allah raised him to Himself. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in Jesus before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection, he will be against them a witness.”
Hadith 29
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) that the Noble Prophet (PBUH) said: By the One in Whose hand is my soul, soon among you will descend the son of Mary, who will enforce the laws and establish justice. He will break the cross, kill the pig, abolish the jizya, and will loot so much wealth that no one will accept it. Until one prostration will be better than the world and whatever is in it.”
Hadith 30
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: What will your state be when Isa ibn Maryam descends among you and your Imam will be from among you?”
Condemnation of making graves solid and high – Present
Hadith 31
“And it is narrated from Abu Al-Hayyaj Asadi that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) called me and said that I am appointing you to a task on which the beloved Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had appointed me. The Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded me: O Ali! Erase whatever idols and pictures you see, and level the graves that appear elevated to be equal with other graves.”
Condemnation of Ignorance
❀ Allah Almighty said:
“And they said, ‘Never leave your gods, nor Wadd, nor Suwa’, nor Yaghuth, nor Ya’uq, nor Nasr.'”
Hadith 32
“And Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said regarding Allah’s command: ﴿وَقَالُوا لَا تَذَرُنَّ آلِهَتَكُمْ﴾
meaning, He said, ‘Do not leave your gods, nor Wadd, nor Suwa’, nor Yaghuth, nor Ya’uq, nor Nasr.’ He states that these were the names of the righteous people of the people of Nuh. When they passed away, Satan instilled in the hearts of their people the idea that at the places where they used to sit, they should erect memorial stones and name those stones after them. They did so, but they did not worship them. Eventually, these people also died, and their children and generations came who had completely forgotten the true knowledge about these memorials, and they began to worship them.”
Condemnation of Sacrificing for Others besides Allah
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“Say: Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my life, and my death are all for Allah, the Lord of the worlds. He has no partner, and I have been commanded to be the first of those who submit (to Him).”
Hadith 33
“And it is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person came to him and said: Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) tell you something in secret? He became displeased and said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not tell me any secret that he hid from people, but he did mention four things: May Allah curse the person who sacrifices for anyone other than Allah, and may Allah curse the person who curses his parents, and may Allah curse the person who shelters an innovator, and may Allah curse the person who alters the landmarks of the land.”
Condemnation of Sorcery and Divination
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“And they followed what the devils used to recite during the reign of Solomon, and Solomon did not disbelieve, but the devils disbelieved by teaching people magic, and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But they did not teach anyone until they said, ‘We are only a trial, so do not disbelieve.’ Then they learned from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone except by Allah’s permission. And they learned what harms them and does not benefit them. And indeed, they knew that whoever purchased it would have no share in the Hereafter. And indeed, evil is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.”
Hadith 34
Sheikh Shoaib has classified it as Hasan.
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Whoever goes to a soothsayer or astrologer and confirms what he says, has denied the Shariah revealed to Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).”

Prohibition of Music

“And Hazrat Malik Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, By Allah’s oath! He did not lie when he said that he heard from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said: In my Ummah, such evil people will emerge who will make adultery, wearing silk, drinking alcohol, and music permissible. And some arrogant people will go to the top of a mountain (to live in their bungalows). Shepherds will bring and take their livestock morning and evening. A poor man will come to them with his needs, but they will delay him by saying, ‘Come tomorrow.’ But Allah will destroy them at night because of their rebellion, will cause the mountain to fall upon them, and will transform many of them into monkeys and pigs until the Day of Judgment.”
Condemnation of Amulets of the Wicked
Hadith 37

Hadith 39
“And it is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed shirk or disbelief.”
Avoiding Sectarianism
❀ Allah Almighty has said:
“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.”
Hadith 40
“And Abdullah bin Amr رضي الله عنه says that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: The exact same situation will occur with my Ummah as has occurred with the Children of Israel, (meaning the similarity will be equal) to the extent that if any of them openly commit adultery with their mother, then in my Ummah there will also be a person who commits this heinous act. The Children of Israel split into seventy-three sects, and my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects, and all except one sect will go to Hell. The Companions رضي الله عنهم asked: O Messenger of Allah! Which group will that be? He صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم replied: It will be those who follow my path and the path of my Companions.”
