Some Sunnah Prayers
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud رضي الله عنه that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم used to supplicate:
“O Allah! I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency (contentment).”
② It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that indeed the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم used to recite this supplication in prostration:
“O Allah! Forgive me all my small and great sins, those done earlier and later, those done openly and secretly.”
③ Sayyida Aisha Siddiqah رضي الله عنها says that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم used to supplicate:
“O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of the deeds I have done and from the evil of the deeds I have not done.”
④ Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq رضي الله عنه states that he asked the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم to teach him a supplication which he could recite in his prayer. The Prophet said: Recite this:
“O Allah! I have wronged myself greatly, and none forgives sins except You, so forgive me with Your special forgiveness and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
⑤ Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah رضي الله عنه says the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said:
“The supplication of a distressed person is: O Allah! I hope for Your mercy; do not leave me to myself even for a moment. Rectify all my affairs. There is no deity except You.”
Al-Albani رحمه الله said it is “Hasan Isnad.”
⑥ Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه says that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم used to supplicate:
“O Allah! Reform my religion which is the safeguard of my end, reform my worldly life in which is my livelihood, reform my Hereafter to which I shall return, make my life an increase in good deeds, and make my death a relief from every evil.”
⑦ Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar رضي الله عنهما says: One of the supplications of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم was:
“O Allah! I seek refuge from the decline of Your blessings, from being deprived of Your well-being, from Your sudden punishment, and from all forms of Your wrath.”
