✿ Prayers to Increase Love and Affection in Marital Life ✿

❀ Duas to Foster Love and Affection in Married Life
To create love and affection in marital life, the following Arabic supplications can be recited during Suhoor (pre-dawn) time and also at other general times. Along with these prayers, it is essential to treat one’s wife with kindness, gentleness, and affection so that the full effect of the supplications may manifest.
① Dua for Instilling Love in the Wife’s Heart
Arabic Text:
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ مَحَبَّتِي فِي قَلْبِ زَوْجَتِي كَمَا جَعَلْتَ مَحَبَّةَ خَدِيجَةَ فِي قَلْبِ النَّبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ.
Translation:
“O Allah! Place my love in my wife’s heart just as You placed the love of Khadijah in the heart of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.”
② Dua for Love, Harmony, and Peace
Arabic Text:
اللَّهُمَّ أَلِّفْ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِنَا، وَأَصْلِحْ ذَاتَ بَيْنِنَا، وَاهْدِنَا سُبُلَ السَّلَامِ، وَجَنِّبْنَا الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ.
Translation:
“O Allah! Create love and harmony between our hearts, rectify the matters between us, guide us to the paths of peace, and keep us away from all evils—both visible and hidden.”
③ Dua to Inspire Love Between Hearts
Arabic Text:
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ، فَأَنْعِمْ عَلَيَّ بِمَحَبَّةِ زَوْجَتِي وَمَوَدَّتِهَا.
Translation:
“O my Lord! I am in need of every good that You bestow upon me; so grant me the blessing of my wife’s love and affection.”
④ Dua for Blessings and Love in Marital Life
Arabic Text:
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِي زَوْجَتِي، وَبَارِكْ لَهَا فِيَّ، وَاجْمَعْ بَيْنَنَا فِي خَيْرٍ وَمَوَدَّةٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ.
Translation:
“O Allah! Bless me in my wife, and bless her in me, and unite us in goodness, love, and mercy.”
⑤ Dua to Soften the Wife’s Heart
Arabic Text:
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ قَلْبَ زَوْجَتِي لَيِّنًا رَقِيقًا مِلْؤُهُ الْمَوَدَّةُ وَالرَّحْمَةُ، وَاجْعَلْهَا لِي قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ.
Translation:
“O Allah! Make my wife’s heart soft and tender, filled with love and mercy, and make her the coolness of my eyes.”
⑥ Dua for Protection from Satanic Whisperings
Arabic Text:
اللَّهُمَّ جَنِّبْنَا الشَّيْطَانَ، وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْ عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ، وَاجْمَعْ بَيْنَنَا فِي مَوَدَّةٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ.
Translation:
“O Allah! Keep us away from Satan, make us among Your righteous servants, and maintain love and mercy between us.”
⑦ Quranic Supplication to Increase Love
Arabic Text:
وَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِهِمْ ۖ لَوْ أَنفَقْتَ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مَّا أَلَّفْتَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ أَلَّفَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ.
(سورہ الأنفال: 63)
Translation:
“And (Allah) united their hearts. If you had spent all that is on the earth, you could not have united their hearts, but Allah united them. Indeed, He is Almighty, All-Wise.”
(Surah Al-Anfal: 63)
❀ Conclusion
These supplications are highly effective for creating love, affection, and tranquility in marital life. They can be recited during Suhoor and at other times. However, it is equally important to treat one’s wife with kindness, gentleness, and love, for the complete effect of prayers is realized only through sincere actions.
