The manner of paying blood money
Scholars say: When a person commits a crime against someone and destroys a benefit such as hearing or sight, or any similar benefit, it becomes obligatory for him to pay the blood money for that benefit. For example, if he oppresses someone to the extent that the person becomes blind, then he must pay the full blood money for sight. If he causes so much harm that the person becomes deaf, then he must pay the full blood money for hearing. If he causes so much damage that the body becomes paralyzed and the person is unable to move, then he must pay the full blood money for movement. Similarly, there are other damages.
