❖ Question:

If a man divorces his pregnant wife and then dies, when can the woman remarry?

✿ Answer:

Whether a pregnant woman is divorced or her husband passes away, her ʿiddah (waiting period) in both cases is until the delivery of the child.
She may remarry after childbirth.

❀ Quranic Verse:

﴿وَأُولَاتُ الْأَحْمَالِ أَجَلُهُنَّ أَنْ يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ﴾
(Surah at-Ṭalāq, 65:4)

“And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they deliver their burden.”

✅ Conclusion:

✔ A pregnant woman’s ʿiddah ends upon childbirth, whether the separation occurred due to divorce or the husband’s death.
✔ After delivery, she is permitted to remarry.
