❖ Issue of Combining Between Two Prayers

Combining Maghrib and ‘Isha in Case of Rain

✿ The Narration:

Narrated from Sayyiduna Nāfiʿ (the Tābiʿī, may Allah have mercy on him):
‏

“When the rulers (i.e., the caliphs or other authorities) combined the Maghrib and ‘Isha prayers due to rain, ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنه) would also combine the prayers along with them.”

✔ Ruling:

◈ The chain of this narration is entirely authentic.
◈ It proves that if there is a valid excuse such as heavy rain, it is permissible to combine Maghrib and ‘Isha prayers.
◈ This practice is substantiated by the action of a noble companion of the Prophet ﷺ, ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنه).
