Treatment after being affected by magic:

Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, has not sent down any disease for which He has not also sent down a cure. Whoever knows this cure has truly known it, and whoever remains unaware remains unaware. Similarly, if a person has been affected by magic, its treatment is very easy for those whom Allah has made matters of goodness and ease. This treatment is:

First: If possible, have the magic removed and ended:

This will happen when there is sincere attention towards Allah, the Exalted, and supplication and weeping in His presence. In such a case, Allah, the Exalted, by His grace and mercy, shows the person the place of the magic. As is proven in an authentic hadith from the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him:
When magic was done on the Prophet, peace be upon him, he was shown the place where the magic was done, then it was removed and ended from there.

Reference: Al-Bukhari (5765)

Often, Allah, the Exalted, accepts the prayer by His grace and help in such a way that:
a. Allah shows the person the place of the magic in a dream.
b. Upon searching, the person is shown the place where the magic was kept or done.
c. Knowledge is obtained through jinn. That is, when ruqyah (spiritual healing) is performed on the person affected by magic, and the Quran is recited and blown upon them, the jinn speaks through the tongue of the person affected by magic or possession. In this way, one can also ask about the place of the magic.
However, here I want to draw attention to an important point that often jinn lie a lot. Therefore, in such cases, thorough investigation and scrutiny should be done so that a person does not oppress another due to the lies of a jinn.
d. Among the means by which magic can be removed is to expel the jinn from the body of the patient who has been assigned to that magic and the person affected by it. This happens when a jinn has been assigned to the patient to continuously cause harm. If the person performing ruqyah has the power to expel that jinn, then he should do so; this will automatically end the magic.

Second Islamic Ruqyah; it has several types; among them:

First method:

Crush seven fresh green leaves of berry with stones or any other means and drink it. Then put it in enough water for bathing, and recite these verses over it:

Reference: Al-Baqarah: 255

Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Reference: Al-A’raf: 117-122

And We revealed to Moses, “Throw your staff,” and suddenly it swallowed up what they were falsifying. So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. So the magicians fell down in prostration. They said, “We have believed in the Lord of the worlds, the Lord of Moses and Aaron.”

Reference: Yunus: 79-82

And Pharaoh said, “Bring to me every skilled magician.” So when the magicians came, Moses said to them, “Throw down whatever you will throw.” So when they had thrown, Moses said, “What you have brought is magic. Indeed, Allah will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allah does not amend the work of corrupters. And Allah will establish the truth by His words, even if the criminals dislike it.”

Reference: Ta-Ha: 65-70

They said, “O Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw.” He said, “Rather, you throw.” So their ropes and staffs appeared to him by their magic that they were moving. And Moses felt within himself apprehension. We said, “Fear not. Indeed, you will be superior. And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. Indeed, what they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is.” So the magicians fell down in prostration, saying, “We have believed in the Lord of Aaron and Moses.”

After reciting the above verses and surahs, blow on the water, drink it three times, and bathe with the remaining water.

Reference: Allama Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) states: There is no harm in bathing with water that has been blown upon.

By doing this, by the grace and mercy of Allah, the illness will be cured, InshaAllah.

If the illness does not end after one time, repeat this process two, three, or more times until the illness is cured. This has been tried many times and found effective. This is also an excellent treatment for a man who has been prevented from his wife.

Some people are prevented from their wives by magic.

Reference: Majmu’ Fatawa wa Maqalat Mutanawwi’a by Ibn Baz (305/3)

They do not have the power to have intercourse. When treated by this method, by the grace and mercy of Allah, they will benefit.

Second Method:

Recite these verses over the patient for ruqyah. They have a great effect in removing magic. The method is to sit the bewitched person in front, recite these verses and prayers over them, and blow on their head or chest:
1. Complete Surah Al-Fatiha
2. Ayat al-Kursi
3. Verses for removing magic:

Reference: Surah Al-A’raf, verses 117 to 122; Surah Yunus, verses 79 to 82; Surah Taha, verses 65 to 70.

8. Pray for healing and well-being for the patient:

O Allah, Lord of the people! Remove the disease, grant healing; You are the Healer, there is no healing except Your healing, grant a healing that leaves no illness behind.

In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah for you from everything that harms you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye; may Allah grant you healing. In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah for you.

Reference: Muslim: 2186

9. These blessed verses and prayers should be recited three times each during ruqyah.
10. Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas should be recited three times each again.

Third Method:

Recite all the previous verses mentioned in the first method of treatment, blow over water, then have the patient [possessed] both bathe with it and drink it. This can be done once or multiple times as needed.

Fourth Method:

Recite Surah Al-Fatiha, Ayat al-Kursi, the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah Al-Ikhlas, and the two Mu’awwidhatayn (Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas) three times each, then blow over the affected area, blowing gently so that a slight fiber comes out with it. While blowing, pass the right hand over the painful area.

Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari with Fath (62/9), Muslim (1723)

Fifth Method:

Seek refuge, recite comprehensive prayers and blow over the patient. The prayers and incantations are as follows:

Reference: Sahih Abu Dawood (3106)

I ask Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of the Great Throne, to grant you healing.

Reference: Recite this prayer seven times and blow over the patient

The patient should place their hand on the painful part of their body and recite this prayer:
﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ﴾ [three times]
Then recite this prayer seven times:

Sixth Method: Cleansing the Stomach

This method is beneficial when magic has been mixed into food or drink. Its effect usually appears in a person’s stomach. The treatment is possible by using medicines that empty the stomach. Physicians are well aware of these things. Along with this, the previous treatment method should also be used.

Seventh Method:

If the effect of magic is in a person’s head, then it can be treated by cupping the head and removing the corrupted blood that contains the magical substance or its effects. This blood should be removed from the head. This method was mentioned by Allama Ibn Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him.

Reference: Zad al-Ma’ad (4/125)

As for cupping, its method, timing, locations, and virtues have been explained by our Noble Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

The Virtue of Cupping:

a. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
The best thing with which you treat is cupping.

Reference: Sahih Abi Dawood 3757]
Cupping, also called “seengi lagwana,” is the best method to remove impure blood from the body.

b. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
There is healing in cupping.

Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari (5697), Muslim (2205)

c. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
Cupping on an empty stomach is preferable and best. It contains healing and blessing. It also increases intellect and memory power.

Reference: Sahih Ibn Majah (3478), As-Sahiha (766)

When someone complained to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, about pain in the head, he would say: Go and get cupping done. And when someone complained of pain in the leg, he would say: Go and apply henna.

Reference: Sahih Abi Dawood 3858 and As-Sahiha 2059

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
On the night of Mi’raj, whenever I passed by any angel, he said to me:
O Muhammad, peace be upon him! Command your Ummah to get cupping done.

Reference: Ibn Majah 3479

Places for Cupping:

a. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to get cupping done on the front part of the head during Zamāhīn, and between both shoulders, and he used to say:
Whoever lets blood from these places, even if he does not take any treatment for another illness, nothing will harm him.

Reference: Sahih Abi Dawood (3859)

b. Sometimes the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to get cupping done on both sides of the neck and between the shoulders.

Reference: Ibn Majah (3479)

Times and Days for Cupping:

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
Getting cupping done on an empty stomach is preferable and best. It increases intellect and the power of retention. The memory of a memorizer improves. Whoever wants to get cupping done should do so on Thursday while mentioning the name of Allah. Avoid getting cupping done on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Get cupping done on Monday and Tuesday.

Reference: Abu Dawood (3860) [Kabsha bint Abu Bakrah narrated that her father forbade his family from getting cupping done on Tuesday, and he used to narrate from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, that Tuesday is a bloody day and there is an hour in it during which bloodletting does not heal a person].

And avoid getting cupping done on Wednesday. This is the same day on which Prophet Ayyub (peace be upon him) was tested, and it is also the day when leprosy and vitiligo appear; that is, they manifest on Wednesday or Wednesday night.

Reference: Leprosy… is a disease in which the body becomes blackened. This disease starts to melt the body parts, and sometimes due to this disease, some parts fall off. It also causes changes in the temperament and condition of the body parts. (Al-Qamoos Al-Muheet 272)
Vitiligo is a disease caused by a disorder in a person’s temperament/nature, resulting in white spots on the body. This disease is called vitiligo or phalbahri. (Al-Qamoos Al-Muheet 121)

Reference: Sahih Al-Tirmidhi (2051)

Natural Remedies:

Besides these, there are some natural medicines that are very beneficial. Their evidence is found in the Book and Sunnah. When a person uses medicines with sincere conviction and attention, and with the belief that the benefit from them is from Allah alone, then, God willing, there will definitely be benefit. In addition, there are some medicines prepared from herbs that are tried and tested, and there is no harm in using them as long as they do not contain anything forbidden.
