Hadith 518
عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَفَى أَحَدَكُمْ خَادِمُهُ طَعَامَهُ حَرَّهُ وَدُخَانَهُ فَلْيُجْلِسْهُ فَلْيَأْكُلْ مَعَهُ ، فَإِنْ أَبَى فَلْيَأْخُذْ لُقْمَةً فَلْيُرَوِّغْهَا ثُمَّ لِيُطْعِمْهُ إِيَّاهَا " ، وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ : " أَوْ لِيُرَوِّغْ " ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ إِيَّاهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the servant of any one of you endures the heat and smoke of your food, then make him sit with you and feed him. If he refuses, then take a morsel, affect it, and then give it to him to eat."
Hadith 519
عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ عَجْلانَ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لِلْمَمْلُوكِ طَعَامُهُ وَكِسْوَتُهُ ، وَلا يُكَلَّفُ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ إِلا مَا يُطِيقُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A servant should be provided with food and clothing, and he should not be made to work beyond his capacity."
Hadith 520
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْفِقْهُ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ " قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، عِنْدِي آخَرُ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْفِقْهُ عَلَى وَلَدِكَ " قَالَ : عِنْدِي آخَرُ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْفِقْهُ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ " قَالَ : عِنْدِي آخَرُ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْفِقْهُ عَلَى خَادِمِكَ " قَالَ : عِنْدِي آخَرُ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ " . قَالَ سَعِيدٌ : ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِذَا حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ يَقُولُ وَلَدُكَ : أَنْفِقْ عَلَيَّ إِلَى مَنْ تَكِلُنِي ، تَقُولُ زَوْجَتُكَ : أَنْفِقْ عَلَيَّ أَوْ طَلِّقْنِي ، يَقُولُ خَادِمُكَ : أَنْفِقْ عَلَيَّ أَوْ بِعْنِي .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: “I have one dinar.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Spend it on yourself.” He said: “O Messenger of Allah! (What if) I have another?” He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Spend it on your child.” He said: “(What if) I have another?” He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Spend it on your wife.” He said: “(What if) I have another?” He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Spend it on your servant.” He said: “(What if) I have another?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Then you know best (what to do) with it.”
Hadith 521
عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَلا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ الشُّهَدَاءِ ؟ الَّذِي يَأْتِي بِالشَّهَادَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْأَلَهَا أَوْ يُخْبِرُ بِشَهَادَتِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْأَلَهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you about the best witness? It is the one who gives testimony on his own before being asked."
