Hadith 76
أَنْبَأَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي هِنْدُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ مِنْ صَلاتِهِ قَامَ النِّسَاءُ حِينَ يَقْضِي تَسْلِيمَهُ وَمَكَثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَكَانِهِ يَسِيرًا " . قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ : فَنَرَى أَنَّ مُكْثَهُ ذَلِكَ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ لِكَيْ يَنْفُذَ النِّسَاءُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْرِكَهُنَّ مَنِ انْصَرَفَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ .
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Noble Prophet ﷺ would conclude the prayer with salam, the women would get up immediately after the salam, and the Noble Prophet ﷺ would remain seated in his place for a short while. Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) says that in our opinion, the Prophet ﷺ would remain seated for a short while so that the women could leave before the men stood up.
