Hadith 74
أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ قَفَلَ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ سَرَى حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ عَرَّسَ وَقَالَ لِبِلالٍ : " اكْلأْ لَنَا الصُّبْحَ " ، وَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ وَكَلأَ بِلالٌ مَا قُدِّرَ لَهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَنَدَ إِلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ وَهُوَ مُقَابِلٌ الْفَجْرَ فَغَلَبَتْهُ عَيْنَاهُ فَنَامَ فَلَمْ يَسْتَيْقِظْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلا أَحَدٌ مِنَ الرَّكْبِ حَتَّى ضَرَبَتْهُمُ الشَّمْسُ ، فَفَزِعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " يَا بِلالُ أَيْنَ مَا قُلْتَ ؟ " فَقَالَ بِلالٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَخَذَ بِنَفْسِي الَّذِي أَخَذَ بِنَفْسِكَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اقْتَادُوا " فَبَعَثُوا رَوَاحِلَهُمْ فَاقْتَادُوا شَيْئًا ثُمَّ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلالا فَأَقَامَ الصَّلاةَ فَصَلَّى لَهُمُ الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ قَالَ حِينَ قَضَى الصَّلاةَ : " مَنْ نَسِيَ الصَّلاةَ فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ : وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ لِذِكْرِي " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) returned from Khaybar, he traveled at night, camped in the last part of the night, and appointed Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to keep watch and to wake him up for the morning prayer. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) fell asleep. Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) performed his duty as best as he could, then turned his face towards the east, leaned his back against the saddle, and he too fell asleep. None of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) or the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) woke up for Fajr until the rays of the sun had appeared. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was the first to wake up, he got up anxiously and said: "O Bilal! What happened to what you said?" He replied: "The same One who took your soul also took mine." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Let us move on." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) mounted their rides, went a little distance, then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ordered Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to give the adhan and the iqamah. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) in the Fajr prayer. After finishing the prayer, he said: "Whoever forgets to pray, let him pray as soon as he remembers, for indeed Allah the Exalted has said: 'Establish prayer for My remembrance.'" [طه: 14]
Hadith 75
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ عِمْرَانُ : " كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ فَنِمْنَا عَنْ صَلاةِ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَأَمَرَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ فَأَذَّنَ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْنَا رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَمْكَنَتْنَا الصَّلاةُ صَلَّيْنَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that we were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). We overslept and missed the Fajr prayer until the sun had risen. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the mu’adhdhin to give the adhan, then we performed the Sunnah of Fajr, and when it became possible, we performed the Fajr prayer.
