Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I do not claim that my right to the caliphate is greater than my right to my shirt. I fought in jihad when I recognized jihad. I do not regret it if it is said that someone is better than me. By Allah! I will not fight until you bring me a sword that has a tongue and lips, which says: This one is a believer and this one is a disbeliever.”

Hazrat Sadiq bin Musa bin Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, his she-camel intended to sit between the houses of Ja'far bin Muhammad bin Ali and Hasan bin Zaid. The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! Let this place be the stop." The she-camel moved on, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Leave her, she is commanded." Then the she-camel kept moving until she sat at the door of Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! Let this be the stop." He said, "Leave her, she is commanded." Then the she-camel kept moving until she sat at the place of the pulpit, then sat down and became tired. There was a canopy there for the people, which they used to sprinkle with water to cool it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) alighted there and rested in the canopy. Then Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! My house is the closest to you, please move your belongings to my house." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes." Then Hazrat Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) moved his belongings to his house. Then another person came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Please come to my place." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "A man stays where he puts his belongings." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in that canopy for twelve nights.
