قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ: فِي الْقَدِيمِ قَضَى عُمَرُ، وَعَلِيٌّ، وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ فِي الْمَغْرُورِ يَرْجِعُ بِالْمَهْرِ عَلَى مَنْ غَرَّهُ.
Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his old (view): "Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) ruled concerning the deceived (husband) that he shall reclaim the dower (amount) from the person who deceived him."
