Hadith 1965

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spent the night at Dhi Tuwa, then when morning came, he entered Makkah, and Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to do the same.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1964)

From this hadith, it is understood that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam spent the night at Dhi Tuwa near Makkah, and after the day had dawned, he entered Makkah. In following this Sunnah, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhuma would also do the same, and this is likewise the position of some scholars and jurists. However, it is permissible to enter Makkah at any time, whether by night or by day. During the ‘Umrah of Ji‘irrana, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam entered Makkah at night.

And Allah knows best.
