Hadith 1966

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to enter Makkah from the upper pass (i.e., the place of Kada, which is in Batha) and would leave (return) from Makkah through the lower pass (i.e., the lower valley).

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1965)

From this hadith, it is understood that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would go to Makkah by one route and return by another, just as he would do for the Eid prayer. Therefore, it is recommended (mustahabb) to come by one route and return by another.
And Allah knows best.
