Hadith 674
وحَدَّثَنَاه ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي أَبُو قِلَابَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ الْحُوَيْرِثِ أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي نَاسٍ وَنَحْنُ شَبَبَةٌ مُتَقَارِبُونَ ، وَاقْتَصَّا جَمِيعًا الْحَدِيثَ ، بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ .
I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) along with other persons and we were young men of nearly equal age, and the rest of the hadith was transmitted like the hadith narrated before.
Hadith 677
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ، يَقُولُ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَجَدَ عَلَى سَرِيَّةٍ ، مَا وَجَدَ عَلَى السَّبْعِينَ الَّذِينَ أُصِيبُوا يَوْمَ بِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ ، كَانُوا يُدْعَوْنَ الْقُرَّاءَ ، فَمَكَثَ شَهْرًا يَدْعُو عَلَى قَتَلَتِهِمْ " .
'Asim reported - I heard Anas saying: Never did I see the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) so much grieved (at the loss of a) small army as I saw him grieved at those seventy men who were called "reciters" (and were killed) at Bi'r Ma'una; and he invoked curse for a full one month upon their murderers.
Hadith 677
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ وَابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ . ح ، وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، يَزِيدُ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ .
This hadith has been narrated by Anas with another chain of transmitters and with minor additions.
Hadith 705
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُدَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : الصَّلَاةَ ، فَسَكَتَ ، ثُمّ قَالَ : الصَّلَاةَ ، فَسَكَتَ ، ثُمّ قَالَ : الصَّلَاةَ ، فَسَكَتَ ، ثُمّ قَالَ : لَا أُمَّ لَكَ ، أَتُعَلِّمُنَا بِالصَّلَاةِ ، " وَكُنَّا نَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
'Abdullah bin Shaqiq al-'Uqaili reported: A person said to Ibn 'Abbas (as he delayed the prayer): Prayer. He kept silence. He again said: Prayer. He again kept silence, and he again cried: Prayer. He again kept silence and said: May you be deprived of your mother, do you teach us about prayer? We used to combine two prayers during the life of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) .
Hadith 726
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ هُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " قَرَأَ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ ، قُلْ : يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited in the two (supererogatory) rak'ahs of the dawn (prayer): "Say: O unbelievers," (Qur'an, cix.) and "Say: Allah is one" (cxii.).
Hadith 743
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَنَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " إِذَا صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ ، فَإِنْ كُنْتُ مُسْتَيْقِظَةً حَدَّثَنِي وَإِلَّا اضْطَجَعَ " .
'A'isha reported: When the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) had prayed the two rak'ahs (Sunan) of the dawn prayer, he would talk to me if I was awake, otherwise he would lie down.
Hadith 743
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَتَّابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَة ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَهُ .
A hadith like this has been narrated by 'A'isha by another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 763
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ بَاتَ عِنْدَ خَالَتِهِ مَيْمُونَةَ ، " فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ شَنٍّ مُعَلَّقٍ وُضُوءًا خَفِيفًا ، قَالَ : وَصَفَ وُضُوءَهُ وَجَعَلَ يُخَفِّفُهُ وَيُقَلِّلُهُ ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : فَقُمْتُ فَصَنَعْتُ مِثْلَ مَا صَنَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَأَخْلَفَنِي فَجَعَلَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، فَصَلَّى ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ فَنَامَ حَتَّى نَفَخَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ بِلَالٌ فَآذَنَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَخَرَجَ فَصَلَّى الصُّبْحَ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : وَهَذَا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاصَّةً لِأَنَّهُ بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، تَنَامُ عَيْنَاهُ وَلَا يَنَامُ قَلْبُهُ " .
Ibn 'Abbas reported that he spent a night in the house of his matenial aunt, Maimuna. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) got up at night and performed short ablution (taking water) from the water-skin hanging there. (Giving a description of the ablution Ibn 'Abbas said: It was short and performed with a little water.) I also got up and did the same as the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) had done. I then came (to him) and stood on his left. He then made me go around to his right side. He then observed prayer and went to sleep till he began to snore. Bilal (RA) came to him and informed him about the prayer. He (the Holy Prophet) then went out and observed the dawn prayer without performing ablution. Sufyan said: It was a special (prerogative of the) Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) for it has been conveyed to us that the eyes of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) sleep, but his heart does not sleep.
Hadith 769
حَدَّثَنَا وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، وابن أبي عمر ، عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَمَّا حَدِيثُ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، فَاتَّفَقَ لَفْظُهُ مَعَ حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ ، لَمْ يَخْتَلِفَا إِلَّا فِي حَرْفَيْنِ ، قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : مَكَانَ قَيَّامُ ، قَيِّمُ ، وَقَالَ : وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ ، وَأَمَّا حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، فَفِيهِ بَعْضُ زِيَادَةٍ ، وَيُخَالِفُ مَالِكًا ، وَابْنَ جُرَيْجٍ فِي أَحْرُفٍ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas through another chain of transmitters and with slight alteration of two words. Instead of the word Qayyam (Supporter, as used in the above hadith here the word) Qayyim (the Custodian) has been used, and he (further said):" What I did in secret." And in the hadith narrated by Ibn 'Uyaina there is some addition.
Hadith 789
حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ الْقَطَّانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق الْمُسَيَّبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عِيَاضٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ ، وَزَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ : وَإِذَا قَامَ صَاحِبُ الْقُرْآنِ فَقَرَأَهُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ذَكَرَهُ ، وَإِذَا لَمْ يَقُمْ بِهِ نَسِيَهُ .
This hadith has been narrated by Ibn 'Umar from the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) , but in the hadith transmitted by Musa bin 'Uqba, this addition is made:" When one who had committed the Qur'an to memory (or who is familiar with it) gets up (for night prayer) and recites it night and day, it remains fresh in his mind, but if he does not get up (for prayer and thus does not recite it) he forgets it."
Hadith 851
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ أَنْصِتْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ ، فَقَدْ لَغِيتَ " . قَالَ أَبُو الزِّنَادِ : هِيَ لُغَةُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If you (even) ask your companion to be quiet on Friday while the Imam is delivering the sermon, you have in fact talked irrelevance.
Hadith 855
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ ، وَنَحْنُ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " بِمِثْلِهِ .
A hadith like this has been narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: We are the last and would be the first on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 884
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ : " أَشْهَدُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَصَلَّى قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ " ، قَالَ : " ثُمَّ خَطَبَ فَرَأَى أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُسْمِعِ النِّسَاءَ ، فَأَتَاهُنَّ فَذَكَّرَهُنَّ وَوَعَظَهُنَّ وَأَمَرَهُنَّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ ، وَبِلَالٌ قَائِلٌ بِثَوْبِهِ فَجَعَلَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ تُلْقِي الْخَاتَمَ وَالْخُرْصَ وَالشَّيْءَ " .
Ibn 'Abbas reported: I bear testimony to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offering prayer before Kbutba. He (after saying prayer) delivered the Kutba, and he found that the women could not hear it, so he came to them and exhorted them and preached them and commanded them to give alms, and Bilal (RA) had stretched his cloth and the women were throwing rings, earrings and other things.
Hadith 903
وحَدَّثَنَاه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، بِمِثْلِ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ .
This hadith has been narrated by Yahya bin Sa'id with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 911
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا إسحاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، وَوَكِيعٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، وَمَرْوَانُ كلهم ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ ، وَوَكِيعٍ " انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمَ مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ انْكَسَفَتْ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ " .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Isma'il with the same chain of transmitters and in the hadith narrated by Sufyan and Waki' (the words are):" The sun eclipsed on the day when Ibrahim died, and the people said: It has eclipsed on the death of Ibrahim."
Hadith 933
وحَدَّثَنَاه ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِي الْفَزَارِيَّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّائِيُّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ .
This hadith has been narrated from the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) through another chain of transmitters
Hadith 935
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَمْرَةُ ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ : لَمَّا جَاءَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَتْلُ ابْنِ حَارِثَةَ ، وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ ، جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْرَفُ فِيهِ الْحُزْنُ ، قَالَتْ : وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ مِنْ صَائِرِ الْبَابِ شَقِّ الْبَابِ ، فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ نِسَاءَ جَعْفَرٍ وَذَكَرَ بُكَاءَهُنَّ ، فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ فَيَنْهَاهُنَّ ، فَذَهَبَ فَأَتَاهُ فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُنَّ لَمْ يُطِعْنَهُ ، فَأَمَرَهُ الثَّانِيَةَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ فَيَنْهَاهُنَّ ، فَذَهَبَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ غَلَبْنَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَتْ : فَزَعَمَتْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " اذْهَبْ فَاحْثُ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِنَّ مِنَ التُّرَابِ " ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : " فَقُلْتُ أَرْغَمَ اللَّهُ أَنْفَكَ ، وَاللَّهِ مَا تَفْعَلُ مَا أَمَرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَمَا تَرَكْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْعَنَاءِ " .
'A'isha reported that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was told that Ibn Haritha, Ja'far bin Abu Talib and 'Abdullah bin Rawaha were killed, he sat down, showing signs of grief. She (further) said: I was looking (at him) through the crevice of the door. A man came to him and mentioned that Ja'far's women were lamenting. He (the Holy Prophet) commanded him to go and forbid them (to do so). So he went away but came back and told (him) that they did not obey (him). He commanded him a second time to go and forbid them (to do so). He again went but came back to him and said: I swear by God, Messenger of Allah, that they have overpowered us. She ('A'isha) said that she thought the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had told (her) to throw dust in their mouths. Thereupon 'A'isha said: May Allah humble you! You did not do what Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ordered you, nor did you stop annoying Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) .
Hadith 940
وحَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا إسحاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ التَّمِيمِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا إسحاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، جميعا ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ .
A hadith like this has been narrated by 'Uyaina on the authority of A'mash with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 941
وحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ لَهَا : فِي كَمْ كُفِّنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ ، فَقَالَتْ : " فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ سَحُولِيَّةٍ " .
Abu Salama said: I asked 'A'isha with how many garments the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was shrouded. She said: With three garments of Sahul.
Hadith 962
وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَإسحاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، جميعا ، عَنْ الثَّقَفِيِّ ، قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي وَاقِدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍأَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ مَسْعُودَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، يَقُولُ فِي شَأْنِ الْجَنَائِزِ : " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم قَامَ ثُمَّ قَعَدَ " ، وَإِنَّمَا حَدَّثَ بِذَلِكَ لِأَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ ، رَأَى وَاقِدَ بْنَ عَمْرٍ وَقَامَ حَتَّى وُضِعَتِ الْجَنَازَةُ ،
Mas'ud bin al-Hakam al-Ansari informed Nafi' that he had heard Hadrat 'Ali (RA) , son of Abu Talib, say about the biers: Verily, the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) used to stand first but later on kept sitting; but it is also narrated that Nafi' ibn Jubair saw Waqid bin 'Amr standing for a bier till it was placed down.
Hadith 977
ح وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ الْيَامِيِّ ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَأُرَاهُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ الشَّكُّ مِنْ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّهُمْ بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ أَبِي سِنَانٍ .
This hadith has been narrated through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 1024
وحَدَّثَنَاه ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَقَالَ : " مِنْ طَعَامِ زَوْجِهَا " .
This hadith has been narrated by Mansur with the same chain of transmitters (with this alteration of words): "from the food of her husband".
Hadith 1028
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِي الْفَزَارِيَّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَصْبَحَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ صَائِمًا ؟ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَنَا ، قَالَ : فَمَنْ تَبِعَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ جَنَازَةً ؟ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَنَا ، قَالَ : فَمَنْ أَطْعَمَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ مِسْكِينًا ؟ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَنَا ، قَالَ : فَمَنْ عَادَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ مَرِيضًا ؟ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَنَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا اجْتَمَعْنَ فِي امْرِئٍ إِلَّا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Who has observed fast among you today? Abu Bakr (RA) replied: It is I. He (the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) again) said: Who among you followed the bier today? Abu Bakr (RA) replied: It is I. He (the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) again) said: Who among you led a poor man today? Abu Bakr (RA) (Allah he pleased with him) replied: It is I. He (again) said: Who among you visited an invalid today? Abu Bakr (RA) said: It is I. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Anyone in whom (these good deeds) are combined will certainly, enter paradise.
Hadith 1038
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ مُنَبِّهٍ ، وَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِي دَارِهِ بِصَنْعَاءَ فَأَطْعَمَنِي مِنْ جَوْزَةٍ فِي دَارِهِ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ .
'Amr bin Dinar reported from Wahb bin Munabbih: I went to his house in San'a' and he offered me nuts grown in his house to eat. And his brother said: I heard Mu'awiyah bin Abu Sufyan (RA) saying that he had heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying, and then he made a mention (of a hadith) like one mentioned above.
Hadith 150
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنِيهِ زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَاه إسحاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَلَى مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ،

Hadith 1060
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ ، قَالَ : أَعْطَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ حَرْبٍ ، وَصَفْوَانَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ ، وَعُيَيْنَةَ بْنَ حِصْنٍ ، وَالْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ ، كُلَّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ مِائَةً مِنَ الْإِبِلِ ، وَأَعْطَى عَبَّاسَ بْنَ مِرْدَاسٍ دُونَ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ عَبَّاسُ بْنُ مِرْدَاسٍ : أنجْعَلُ نَهْبِي وَنَهْبَ الْعُبَيْدِ بَيْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ وَالْأَقْرَعِ فَمَا كَانَ بَدْرٌ وَلَا حَابِسٌ يَفُوقَانِ مِرْدَاسَ فِي الْمَجْمَعِ وَمَا كُنْتُ دُونَ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمَا وَمَنْ تَخْفِضْ الْيَوْمَ لَا يُرْفَعِ ، قَالَ : فَأَتَمَّ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِائَةً ،
Rafi' bin Khadij reported that the Messenger of Allah; (ﷺ) gave to Abu Sufyan (RA) bin Harb and Safwan. bin Umayya and 'Uyaina bin Hisn and Aqra' bin Habis, i. e. to every one of these persons, one hundred of camels, and gave to 'Abbas bin Mirdas less than this number. Upon this 'Abbas bin Mirdis said: You allot the share of my booty and that of my horse between 'Uyaina and Aqra'. Both Uyaina and Aqra' are in no way more eminent than Mirdas (my father) in the assembly. I am in no way inferior to any one of these persons. And he who is let down today would not be elevated. He (the narrator) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then completed one hundred camels for him.
Hadith 1082
وحَدَّثَنَاه يَحْيَى بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْحَرِيرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَّامٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 1101
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا إسحاق ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ ابْنِ مُسْهِرٍ ، وَعَبَّادٍ ، وَعَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ ، وَلَيْسَ فِي حَدِيثِ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ : فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ ، وَلَا قَوْلُهُ : وَجَاءَ اللَّيْلُ مِنْ هَا هُنَا ، إِلَّا فِي رِوَايَةِ هُشَيْمٍ وَحْدَهُ .
And Ibn Abi ‘Umar narrated to us, Sufyan informed us. And Ishaq narrated to us, Jarir informed us, both of them from al-Shaybani, from Ibn Abi Awfa. And ‘Ubaydullah ibn Mu‘adh narrated to us, my father narrated to us. And Ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, they said: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, from Ibn Abi Awfa, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with the meaning of the hadith of Ibn Mus-hir, and ‘Abbad, and ‘Abd al-Wahid, and there is not in the hadith of any of them: “in the month of Ramadan,” nor his saying: “and the night has come from here,” except in the narration of Hushaym alone.
Hadith 1106
حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْدِيُّ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ أَسَمِعْتَ أَبَاكَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُقَبِّلُهَا وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ ؟ " فَسَكَتَ سَاعَةً ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " .
Sufyan reported: I said to 'Abdul Rahman bin Qasim: Have you heard from your father narrating from 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) that he kissed her while observing fast? He ('Abdul Rahman bin Qasim) kept silence for a short while and then said: "Yes."
Hadith 1123
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ " وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ " ، وَقَالَ : عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ ،
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Nadr with the same chain of transmitters, but he did not mention that he was mounting (riding on) his camel.
Hadith 1129
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ : " إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَمَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَصُومَ فَلْيَصُمْ " ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ بَاقِي حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ وَيُونُسَ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters that be heard Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying on a similar day: I am fasting today, so he who wishes to observe fast should do so; but he did not make mention of the rest of the hadith.
Hadith 1130
وحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَوَجَدَ الْيَهُودَ صِيَامًا يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا هَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي تَصُومُونَهُ ؟ " ، فَقَالُوا : هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَظِيمٌ ، أَنْجَى اللَّهُ فِيهِ مُوسَى وَقَوْمَهُ ، وَغَرَّقَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمَهُ فَصَامَهُ مُوسَى شُكْرًا ، فَنَحْنُ نَصُومُهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ وَأَوْلَى بِمُوسَى مِنْكُمْ ، فَصَامَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَمَرَ بِصِيَامِهِ " ،
Ibn'Abbas (Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) arrived in Madinah and found the Jews observing fast on the day of 'Ashura. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to them: What is the (significance) of this day that you observe fast on it? They said: It is the day of great (significance) when Allah delivered Moses (ؑ) and his people, and drowned the Pharaoh and his people, and Moses (ؑ) observed fast out of gratitude and we also observe it. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: We have more right, and we have a closer connection with Moses (ؑ) than you have; so Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) observed fast (on the day of 'Ashura), and gave orders that it should be observed.
Hadith 1146
وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : إِنْ كَانَتْ إِحْدَانَا لَتُفْطِرُ فِي زَمَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَمَا تَقْدِرُ عَلَى أَنْ تَقْضِيَهُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ شَعْبَانُ " .
'A'isha reported: If one amongst us had to break fasts of Ramadan (due to natural reasons, i. e. menses) during the life of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) she could not find it possible to complete them so long she had been in the presence of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) till Sha'ban commenced.
Hadith 1167
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُجَاوِرُ فِي رَمَضَانَ الْعَشْرَ الَّتِي فِي وَسَطِ الشَّهْرِ " ، وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِمِثْلِهِ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فَلْيَثْبُتْ فِي مُعْتَكَفِهِ " ، وَقَالَ : " وَجَبِينُهُ مُمْتَلِئًا طِينًا وَمَاءً " .
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) devoted (himself to prayer) in the middle (ten nights) of Ramadan. The rest of the hadith is the same except for these words: "That he adhered to his place of i'tikaf and his forehead was besmeared with mud and water."
Hadith 762
وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ ابْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدَةَ ، وَعَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ ، سمعا زر بن حبيش ، يَقُولُ : سَأَلْتُ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : إِنَّ أَخَاكَ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ، يَقُولُ : مَنْ يَقُمْ الْحَوْلَ يُصِبْ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ ، فَقَالَ : " رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ أَرَادَ أَنْ لَا يَتَّكِلَ النَّاسُ أَمَا إِنَّهُ قَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّهَا فِي رَمَضَانَ ، وَأَنَّهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ ، وَأَنَّهَا لَيْلَةُ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ ، ثُمَّ حَلَفَ لَا يَسْتَثْنِي أَنَّهَا لَيْلَةُ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ " ، فَقُلْتُ : بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَقُولُ ذَلِكَ يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " بِالْعَلَامَةِ أَوْ بِالْآيَةِ الَّتِي أَخْبَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهَا تَطْلُعُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَا شُعَاعَ لَهَا " .
Zirr bin Habaish reported: I asked Ubayy bin Ka'b (RA) : Your brother (in faith) Ibn Mas'ud says: He who stands (for the night prayer) throughout the year would find Lailat-ul-Qadr, whereupon he said: May Allah have mercy upon him; (he said these words) with the intention that people might not rely only (on one night), whereas he knew that it (Lailat-ul-Qadr) is in the month of Ramadan and it is the twenty-seventh night. He then took oath (without making any exception, i. e. without saying Innsha Allah) that it was the twenty-seventh night. I said to him: Abu Mundhir, on what ground do you say that? Thereupon he said: By the indication or by the sign which the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave us, and that is that on that day (the sun) would rise without having any ray in it.
Hadith 1170
وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ وَهُوَ الْفَزَارِيُّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : تَذَاكَرْنَا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَيُّكُمْ يَذْكُرُ حِينَ طَلَعَ الْقَمَرُ ، وَهُوَ مِثْلُ شِقِّ جَفْنَةٍ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: We were talking about Lailat-ul-Qadr in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said: He who amongst you remembers (the night) when the moon arose and it was like a piece of plate (at the fag end of the month in a state of waning).
Hadith 1172
وحَدَّثَنَاه ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ . ح حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاق كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَعْنَى : حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ وَعَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ وَابْنِ إِسْحَاق ذِكْرُ : عَائِشَةَ وَحَفْصَةَ وَزَيْنَبَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُنَّ : " أَنَّهُنَّ ضَرَبْنَ الْأَخْبِيَةَ لِلِاعْتِكَافِ " .
This hadith has been reported through another chain of transmitters, and there it is mentioned that. 'A'isha, Hafsa and Zainab (RA) pitched the tents for i'tikaf.
Hadith 1174
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ جَمِيعًا ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ إِسْحَاق : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ ، أَحْيَا اللَّيْلَ ، وَأَيْقَظَ أَهْلَهُ ، وَجَدَّ وَشَدَّ الْمِئْزَرَ " .
'A'Isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that when the last ten nights began Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) kept awake at night (for prayer and devotion), wakened his family, and prepared himself to observe prayer (with more vigour).
Hadith 1180
وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ وَهُوَ بِالْجِعْرَانَةِ ، وَأَنَا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيْهِ مُقَطَّعَاتٌ يَعْنِي : جُبَّةً وَهُوَ مُتَضَمِّخٌ بِالْخَلُوقِ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي أَحْرَمْتُ بِالْعُمْرَةِ وَعَلَيَّ هَذَا وَأَنَا مُتَضَمِّخٌ بِالْخَلُوقِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا كُنْتَ صَانِعًا فِي حَجِّكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : أَنْزِعُ عَنِّي هَذِهِ الثِّيَابَ ، وَأَغْسِلُ عَنِّي هَذَا الْخَلُوقَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا كُنْتَ صَانِعًا فِي حَجِّكَ ، فَاصْنَعْهُ فِي عُمْرَتِكَ " .
Safwan bin Ya'la reported on the authority of his father (who said): A person came to the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) as he was staying at Ji'rana and I (the narrator's father) was at that time in the apostle's (ﷺ) company and (the person) was donning a cloak having the marks of perfume on it, and he said: I am in a state of Ihram for the sake of 'Umrah, and it (this cloak) is upon me and I am perfumed. The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: What would you do in your Hajj? He said: I would take off the clothes and would wash from me this perfume. Thereupon the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said: What you do in your Hajj do it in your 'Umrah.
Hadith 1182
وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ ، وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ ، وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ " ، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا : وَذُكِرَ لِي ، وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ .
Abu Zubair heard Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) as saying as he was asked about (the place for entering upon the) state of Ihram: I heard (and I think he carried it directly to the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) ) him saying: For the people of Madinah Dhu'l-Hulaifa is the place for entering upon the state of Ihram, and for (the people coming through the other way, i. e. Syria) it is Juhfa; for the people of Iraq it is Dbat al-'Irq; for the people uf Najd it is Qarn (al-Manazil) and for the people of Yemen it is Yalamlam.
