Hadith 2144
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ بِهَذِهِ الْقِصَّةِ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ يَزِيدَ .
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Anas through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2150
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْعَتَكِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ . ح وحدثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قال : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ خُلُقًا ، وَكَانَ لِي أَخٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو عُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَحْسِبُهُ ، قَالَ : كَانَ فَطِيمًا ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ إِذَا جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَآهُ ، قَالَ أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ : مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ ؟ ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ يَلْعَبُ بِهِ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had the sublimest character among mankind. I had a brother who was called Abu 'Umair. I think he was weaned. When Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him) came to our house he saw him, and said: Abu 'Umair, what has the sparrow done? He (Anas) said that he had been playing with that.
Hadith 2151
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْغُبَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قال : " قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا بُنَيَّ " .
Anas b Malik reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) addressed me: O My Son.
Hadith 2157
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ فُضَيْلُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَي ، وَأَبِي كَامِلٍ ، قَالَ يَحْيَي : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، " أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ مِنْ بَعْضِ حُجَرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ بِمِشْقَصٍ أَوْ مَشَاقِصَ فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْتِلُهُ لِيَطْعُنَهُ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that a person peeped in some of the holes (in the doors) of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (and he found him) standing up (lifting) an arrow or some arrows. The narrator said: I perceived as if Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was going to pierce (his eyes).
Hadith 2163
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا ، يقول : قال رسول اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ فَقُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ " .
Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us, Hushaim informed us, from Ubaydullah ibn Abi Bakr, who said: I heard Anas say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said...
And Isma'il ibn Salim narrated to me, Hushaim narrated to us, Ubaydullah ibn Abi Bakr informed us, from his grandfather Anas ibn Malik, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"If the People of the Book greet you, then say: 'And upon you.'"
And Isma'il ibn Salim narrated to me, Hushaim narrated to us, Ubaydullah ibn Abi Bakr informed us, from his grandfather Anas ibn Malik, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"If the People of the Book greet you, then say: 'And upon you.'"
Hadith 2163
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . ح وحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَي بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ ، قالا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ . ح وحدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُمَا ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالُوا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْنَا فَكَيْفَ نَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ ؟ ، قَالَ : قُولُوا : وَعَلَيْكُمْ " .
Anas reported that the Companions of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said to him: The People of the Book offer us salutations (by saying as-Salamu-'Alaikum). How should we reciprocate them? Thereupon he said: Say: Wa 'Alaikum (and upon you too).
Hadith 2168
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ : " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَى غِلْمَانٍ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) happened to pass by young boys he would great them.
Hadith 2168
وحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، قالا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ ، قال : كُنْتُ أَمْشِي مَعَ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، فَمَرَّ بِصِبْيَانٍ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، وَحَدَّثَ ثَابِتٌ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَمْشِي مَعَ أَنَسٍ ، فَمَرَّ بِصِبْيَانٍ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، وَحَدَّثَ أَنَسٌ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَمْشِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَمَرَّ بِصِبْيَانٍ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ " .
Sayyar reported: I was walking with Thibit al-Bunani that he happened to pass by children and he greeted them. And Thabit reported that he walked with Anas and he happened to pass by children and he greeted them. and Anas reported that he walked with Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and he happened to pass by children and he greeted them.
Hadith 2174
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ مَعَ إِحْدَى نِسَائِهِ ، فَمَرَّ بِهِ رَجُلٌ فَدَعَاهُ ، فَجَاءَ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا فُلَانُ هَذِهِ زَوْجَتِي فُلَانَةُ " ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَنْ كُنْتُ أَظُنُّ بِهِ فَلَمْ أَكُنْ أَظُنُّ بِكَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَجْرِي مِنَ الْإِنْسَانِ مَجْرَى الدَّمِ " .
Anas reported that when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was in the company of one of his wives a person happened to pass by them. He called him and when he came, he said to him: O so and so, she was my such and such wife. Thereupon he said, Allah's Messenger, if I were to doubt at all, I would have entertained no doubt about you at least. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Verily Satan circulates in the body like blood.
Hadith 2190
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً يَهُودِيَّةً أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ مَسْمُومَةٍ ، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا ، فَجِيءَ بِهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَتْ : أَرَدْتُ لِأَقْتُلَكَ ، قَالَ : " مَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُسَلِّطَكِ عَلَى ذَاكِ " ، قَالَ أَوَ قَالَ عَلَيَّ : قَالَ : قَالُوا : أَلَا نَقْتُلُهَا ، قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : فَمَا زِلْتُ أَعْرِفُهَا فِي لَهَوَاتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Anas reported that a Jewess came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) with poisoned mutton and he took of that what had been brought to him (Allah's Messenger). When the effect of this poison were felt by him he called for her and asked her about that, whereupon she said: I had determined to kill you. Thereupon he said: Allah will never give you the power to do it. He (the narrator) said that they (the Companion's of the Holy Prophet) said: Should we not kill her? He said: No. He (Anas) said: I felt (the affects of this poison) on the uvula of Allah's Messenger.
Hadith 2190
وحدثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ هِشَامَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ ، سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّ يَهُودِيَّةً جَعَلَتْ سَمًّا فِي لَحْمٍ ثُمَّ أَتَتْ بِهِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ خَالِدٍ .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that a Jewess brought poisoned meat and then served it to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)
Hadith 2196
وحَدَّثَنَا وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، فِي الرُّقَى ، قَالَ : " رُخِّصَ فِي الْحُمَةِ وَالنَّمْلَةِ وَالْعَيْنِ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported in connection with incantation that he had been granted sanction (to use incantation as a remedy) for the sting of the scorpion and for curing small pustules and dispelling the influence of an evil eye.
Hadith 2196
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ صَالِحٍ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قال : " رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الرُّقْيَةِ مِنَ الْعَيْنِ وَالْحُمَةِ وَالنَّمْلَةِ " ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ .
Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) granted him sanction to use incantation (as a cure) for the influence of an evil eye, the sting of the scorpion and small pustules.
Hadith 1577
وحَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وقَالَ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ : أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يقول : " احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَكَانَ لَا يَظْلِمُ أَحَدًا أَجْرَهُ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) got himself cupped and never withheld the wages of anyone.
Hadith 2224
حَدَّثَنَا هَدَّابُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا عَدْوَى ، وَلَا طِيَرَةَ ، وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ الْكَلِمَةُ الْحَسَنَةُ الْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ " .
Anas reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no divination, but good omen pleases me, i. e. the good word or a good word.
Hadith 2224
وحَدَّثَنَاه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قالا : أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عن النبي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا عَدْوَى ، وَلَا طِيَرَةَ ، وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ " ، قَالَ ، قِيلَ : وَمَا الْفَأْلُ ؟ قَالَ : " الْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no divination, but good omen pleases me. It was said: What is good omen? He said: Sacred words.
Hadith 2264
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنَ النُّبُوَّةِ " .
Ubadah bin as-Samit reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The vision of a believer is the forty-sixth part of Prophecy.
Hadith 2264
وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Anas bin Malik (RA) through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2270
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رَأَيْتُ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فِيمَا يَرَى النَّائِمُ كَأَنَّا فِي دَارِ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ ، فَأُتِينَا بِرُطَبٍ مِنْ رُطَبِ ابْنِ طَابٍ ، فَأَوَّلْتُ الرِّفْعَةَ لَنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا ، وَالْعَاقِبَةَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، وَأَنَّ دِينَنَا قَدْ طَابَ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: I saw during the night that which a person sees during the sleep as if we are in the house of 'Uqba bin Rafi' that there was brought to us the fresh dates of Ibn Tab. I interpreted it as the sublimity for us in the world and good ending in the Hereafter and that our religion is good.
Hadith 2279
وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْعَتَكِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، " أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَأُتِيَ بِقَدَحٍ رَحْرَاحٍ ، فَجَعَلَ الْقَوْمُ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ ، فَحَزَرْتُ مَا بَيْنَ السِّتِّينَ إِلَى الثَّمَانِينَ ، قَالَ : فَجَعَلْتُ أَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْمَاءِ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ " .
Anas reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) called for water and he was given a vessel and the people began to perform ablution in that and I counted (the persons) and they were between fifty and eighty and I saw water which was spouting from his fingers.
Hadith 2279
وحَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَحَانَتْ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ ، فَالْتَمَسَ النَّاسُ الْوَضُوءَ ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُوهُ ، فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِوَضُوءٍ ، فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْإِنَاءِ يَدَهُ ، وَأَمَرَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّئُوا مِنْهُ ، قَالَ : فَرَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ تَحْتِ أَصَابِعِهِ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ النَّاسُ حَتَّى تَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ عِنْدِ آخِرِهِمْ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported: I saw Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) during the time of the afternoon prayer and the people asking for water for performing ablution which they did not find. A small quantity of water was brought to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and he placed his hand in that vessel and commanded people to perform ablution. I saw water spouting from his fingers and the people performing ablution until the last amongst them performed it.
Hadith 2279
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو غَسَّانَ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ : " أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابَهُ بِالزَّوْرَاءِ ، قَالَ : وَالزَّوْرَاءُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ عِنْدَ السُّوقِ ، وَالْمَسْجِدِ فِيمَا ثَمَّهْ دَعَا بِقَدَحٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ ، فَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ فِيهِ ، فَجَعَلَ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ جَمِيعُ أَصْحَابِهِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : كَمْ كَانُوا يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ ؟ قَالَ : كَانُوا زُهَاءَ الثَّلَاثِ مِائَةِ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and his Companions were at a place known as az-Zaura' (az-Zaura' is a place in the bazar of Madinah near the mosque) that he called for a vessel containing water. He put his hand in that. And there began to spout (water) between his fingers and all the Companions performed ablution. Qatada, one of the narrators in the chain of narrators, said: Abu Hamza (the kunya of Hadrat Anas bin Malik (RA)), how many people were they? He said: They were about three hundred.
Hadith 2279
وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ بِالزَّوْرَاءِ ، فَأُتِيَ بِإِنَاءِ مَاءٍ لَا يَغْمُرُ أَصَابِعَهُ ، أَوْ قَدْرَ مَا يُوَارِي أَصَابِعَهُ ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ هِشَامٍ .
Anas reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) was at az-Zaura' and a vessel containing water was brought to him in which his finger could not be completely dipped or completely covered; the rest of the hadith is the same.
Hadith 2303
وحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " قَدْرُ حَوْضِي كَمَا بَيْنَ أَيْلَةَ ، وَصَنْعَاءَ مِنْ الْيَمَنِ ، وَإِنَّ فِيهِ مِنَ الْأَبَارِيقِ كَعَدَدِ نُجُومِ السَّمَاءِ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: My Cistern would be as extensive as the distance between Aila and San'a, of Yemen, and there would be in it jugs like stars in the sky.
Hadith 2304
وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الصَّفَّارُ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الْعَزِيزِ بْنَ صُهَيْبٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَال : " لَيَرِدَنَّ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ رِجَالٌ مِمَّنْ صَاحَبَنِي ، حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَيْتُهُمْ وَرُفِعُوا إِلَيَّ ، اخْتُلِجُوا دُونِي ، فَلَأَقُولَنَّ : أَيْ رَبِّ أُصَيْحَابِي ، أُصَيْحَابِي ، فَلَيُقَالنَّ لِي : إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: Some persons from amongst my associates would turn to my Cistern; when I would see them and they would be presented to me, they would be detained in the way while coming to me. I would say: My Lord, they are my companions, they are my companions, and it would be said to me: You don't know what innovations they made after you.
Hadith 2304
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ الْمُخْتَارِ بْنِ فُلْفُلٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِهَذَا الْمَعْنَى وَزَادَ آنِيَتُهُ عَدَدُ النُّجُومِ .
Anas reported a hadith like this from Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and he made this addition: "The vessels would be as numerous as the number of stars.
Hadith 2303
وحَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ التَّيْمِيُّ ، وَهُرَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا بَيْنَ نَاحِيَتَيْ حَوْضِي كَمَا بَيْنَ صَنْعَاءَ ، وَالْمَدِينَةِ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There would be such a vast distance between the sides of my Cistern as it is between Sana' and Madinah.
Hadith 2303
وحَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمِثْلِهِ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُمَا شَكَّا ، فَقَالَا : أَوْ مِثْلَ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَدِينَةِ وَعَمَّانَ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي عَوَانَةَ : مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْ حَوْضِي .
Anas reported this hadith with this change that there was some doubt between (places mentioned) and there is a slight variation of wording.
Hadith 2303
وحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَي بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرُّزِّيُّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَنَسٌ : قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تُرَى فِيهِ أَبَارِيقُ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ كَعَدَدِ نُجُومِ السَّمَاءِ " .
Anas reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: You would be shown in it jugs of gold and silver (as numerous) as the number of stars in the sky.
Hadith 2303
وحَدَّثَنِيهِ زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ مِثْلَهُ ، وَزَادَ : أَوْ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ عَدَدِ نُجُومِ السَّمَاءِ .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Anas bin Malik (RA) with this addition: "More numerous than stars in the sky."
Hadith 2307
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي التَّمِيمِيُّ ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَأَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الْعَتَكِيُّ ، وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَي ، قَالَ يَحْيَي : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ ، وَكَانَ أَجْوَدَ النَّاسِ ، وَكَانَ أَشْجَعَ النَّاسِ ، وَلَقَدْ فَزِعَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ ، فَانْطَلَقَ نَاسٌ قِبَلَ الصَّوْتِ ، فَتَلَقَّاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَاجِعًا ، وَقَدْ سَبَقَهُمْ إِلَى الصَّوْتِ وَهُوَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عُرْيٍ فِي عُنُقِهِ السَّيْفُ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : لَمْ تُرَاعُوا ، لَمْ تُرَاعُوا ، قَالَ : وَجَدْنَاهُ بَحْرًا ، أَوْ إِنَّهُ لَبَحْرٌ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ فَرَسًا يُبَطَّأُ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was the sublimest among people (in character) and the most generous amongst them and he was the bravest of men. One night the people of Madinah felt disturbed and set forth in the direction of a sound when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) met them on his way back as he had gone towards that sound ahead of them. He was on the horse of Abu Talha which had no saddle over it, and a sword was slung round his neck, and he was saying: There was nothing to be afraid of, and he also said: We found it (this horse) like a torrent of water (indicating its swift-footedness), whereas the horse had been slow before that time.
Hadith 2307
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَزَعٌ ، فَاسْتَعَارَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَسًا لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، يُقَالُ لَهُ : مَنْدُوبٌ ، فَرَكِبَهُ ، فَقَالَ : مَا رَأَيْنَا مِنْ فَزَعٍ ، وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَاهُ لَبَحْرًا " .
Anas reported that there was consternation in Madinah. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) borrowed the horse from Abu Talha which was called Mandub. He rode it and said: We have found no reason for consternation, and we have found it to be (as quick as a torrent) of water.
Hadith 2309
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَأَبُو الرَّبِيعِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " خَدَمْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ ، وَاللَّهِ مَا قَالَ لِي أُفًّا قَطُّ ، وَلَا قَالَ لِي لِشَيْءٍ ، لِمَ فَعَلْتَ كَذَا ، وَهَلَّا فَعَلْتَ كَذَا " ، زَادَ أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ : لَيْسَ مِمَّا يَصْنَعُهُ الْخَادِمُ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ قَوْلَهُ : وَاللَّهِ .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported: I served the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for ten years, and, by Allah, he never said to me any harsh word, and he never said to me about a thing as to why I had done that and as to why I had not done that. Abu Rabi' has made this addition (in this narration): "The work which a servant should do." There is no mention of his words "By Allah".
Hadith 2309
وحَدَّثَنَاه شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، بِمِثْلِهِ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Anas through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2309
وحَدَّثَنَاه أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِأَحْمَدَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، أَخَذَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ بِيَدِي ، فَانْطَلَقَ بِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أَنَسًا غُلَامٌ كَيِّسٌ ، فَلْيَخْدُمْكَ ، قَالَ : فَخَدَمْتُهُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْحَضَرِ ، وَاللَّهِ مَا قَالَ لِي لِشَيْءٍ صَنَعْتُهُ ، لِمَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا هَكَذَا ، وَلَا لِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَصْنَعْهُ ، لِمَ لَمْ تَصْنَعْ هَذَا هَكَذَا " .
Anas reported: When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to Madinah, Abu Talha took hold of my hand and brought me to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said: Allah's Messenger, Anas is a prudent young boy, and he will serve you. He (Anas) said: I served him in journey and at home, but, by Allah, he never asked me about a thing which I did as to why I did so, nor about a thing which I did not do as to why I had not done that.
Hadith 2309
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " خَدَمْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، تِسْعَ سِنِينَ ، فَمَا أَعْلَمُهُ قَالَ لِي قَطُّ : لِمَ فَعَلْتَ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، وَلَا عَابَ عَلَيَّ شَيْئًا قَطُّ " .
Anas reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: I served the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for nine years, and I do not know (of any instance) when he said to me: Why you have done this and that, and he never found fault with me in anything.
Hadith 2310
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَعْنٍ الرَّقَاشِيُّ زَيْدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ إِسْحَاق : قَالَ أَنَسٌ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِنْ أَحْسَنِ النَّاسِ خُلُقًا ، فَأَرْسَلَنِي يَوْمًا لِحَاجَةٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : وَاللَّهِ لَا أَذْهَبُ وَفِي نَفْسِي أَنْ أَذْهَبَ ، لِمَا أَمَرَنِي بِهِ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَخَرَجْتُ حَتَّى أَمُرَّ عَلَى صِبْيَانٍ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ فِي السُّوقِ ، فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَدْ قَبَضَ بِقَفَايَ مِنْ وَرَائِي ، قَالَ : فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أُنَيْسُ ، أَذَهَبْتَ حَيْثُ أَمَرْتُكَ ، قَالَ ، قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، أَنَا أَذْهَبُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ،
Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had the best disposition amongst people. He sent me on an errand one day, and I said: By Allah, I would not go. I had, however, this idea in my mind that I would do as Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) had commanded me to do. I went out until I happened to come across children who had been playing in the street. In the meanwhile, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came there and he caught me by the back of my neck from behind me. As I looked towards him I found him smiling and he said: Anas, did you go where I commanded you to go? I said: Allah's Messenger, yes, I am going.
Hadith 2310
وحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ ، وَأَبُو الرَّبِيعِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ خُلُقًا " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was the best amongst people in disposition and behaviour.
Hadith 2312
وحَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ التَّيْمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " مَا سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ شَيْئًا ، إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ ، قَالَ ، فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ ، فَأَعْطَاهُ غَنَمًا بَيْنَ جَبَلَيْنِ ، فَرَجَعَ إِلَى قَوْمِهِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا قَوْمِ أَسْلِمُوا ، فَإِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا يُعْطِي عَطَاءً لَا يَخْشَى الْفَاقَةَ " .
Musa bin Anas reported on the authority of his father: It never happened that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was asked anything for the sake of Islam and he did not give that. There came to him a person and he gave him a large flock (of sheep and goats) and he went back to his people and said: My people, embrace Islam, for Muhammad gives so much charity as if he has no fear of want.
Hadith 2312
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَنَمًا بَيْنَ جَبَلَيْنِ ؟ فَأَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ ، فَأَتَى قَوْمَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " أَيْ قَوْمِ أَسْلِمُوا ، فَوَاللَّهِ إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا لَيُعْطِي عَطَاءً مَا يَخَافُ الْفَقْرَ ، فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ : إِنْ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ لَيُسْلِمُ مَا يُرِيدُ إِلَّا الدُّنْيَا ، فَمَا يُسْلِمُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ الْإِسْلَامُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا عَلَيْهَا " .
Anas 'b. Malik reported that a person requested Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) to give him a very large flock and he gave that to him. He came to his tribe and said: O people, embrace Islam. By Allah, Muhammad donates so much as if he did not fear want. Anas said that the person embraced Islam for the sake of the world but later he became Muslim until Islam became dearer to him than the world and what it contains.
