Hadith 80
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قال : أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِوُضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ " فَتَوَضَّأَ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said:` "Shall I not tell you of the Wudu' of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? He performed Wudu' by washing each part of the body once."
Hadith 170
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو رَوْقٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يُقَبِّلُ بَعْضَ أَزْوَاجِهِ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي وَلَا يَتَوَضَّأُ " . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : لَيْسَ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ حَدِيثٌ أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُرْسَلًا . وَقَدْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ : حَدِيثُ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، هَذَا وَحَدِيثُ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، تُصَليِّ وَإِنْ قَطَرَ الدَّمُ عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ لَا شَيْءَ .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to kiss one of his wives then pray without performing Wudu'. Abu 'Abdur-Rahman said:` "There is nothing for this chapter which is better than this hadith, even though it is Mursal. And Al-A'mash reported this Hadith from Habib bin Abi Thabit, from 'Urwah, from 'Aishah. Yahya Al-Qattan said: "This is the Hadith of Habib from 'Urwah, from 'Aishah. And the Hadith of Habib from 'Urwah, from 'Aishah: "She prays even if blood drips on the mat" is nothing.
Hadith 182
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَكَلَ كَتِفًا ، فَجَاءَهُ بِلَالٌ ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَمَسَّ مَاءً " .
It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at (meat from) a shoulder, then Bilal came to him and he went out to pray, and he did not touch water.
Hadith 190
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ نَاجِيَةَ بْنَ كَعْبٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ أَبَا طَالِبٍ مَاتَ ، فَقَالَ : " اذْهَبْ فَوَارِهِ " ، قَالَ : إِنَّهُ مَاتَ مُشْرِكًا ، قَالَ : " اذْهَبْ فَوَارِهِ ، فَلَمَّا وَارَيْتُهُ رَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ لِي : اغْتَسِلْ " .
´It was narrated that Abbu Ishaq said:` "I heard Najiyah bin Ka'b narrating from 'Ali that he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'Abu Talib has died.' He said: 'Go and bury him.' He said: 'He died as an idolator.' He said: 'Go and bury him.' ('Ali said:) 'When I had buried him I went back to him and he said to me: 'Perform Ghusl.'"
Hadith 211
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ كَانَتْ تُسْتَحَاضُ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ ، فَسَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " لَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ عِرْقٌ ، فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَتْرُكَ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْرَ أَقْرَائِهَا وَحَيْضَتِهَا وَتَغْتَسِلَ وَتُصَلِّيَ " ، فَكَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that Umm Habibah bint Jahsh used to suffer from Istihadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding) for seven years. She asked the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said:` "That is not menstruation, rather it is a vein. Tell her not to pray for the amount of time that her period used to last, then let her perform Ghusl and pray.' She used to perform Ghusl for every prayer.
Hadith 216
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ ، أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تُسْتَحَاضُ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ دَمُ الْحَيْضِ فَإِنَّهُ دَمٌ أَسْوَدُ يُعْرَفُ فَأَمْسِكِي عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِذَا كَانَ الْآخَرُ فَتَوَضَّئِي فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ عِرْقٌ " .
´It was narrated from Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish that she suffered from Istihadah and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to her:` "If it is menstrual blood then it is blood that is black and recognizable, so stop praying, and if it is other than that then perform Wudu', for it is just a vein."
Hadith 217
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ هَذَا مِنْ كِتَابِهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ مِنْ حِفْظِهِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ كَانَتْ تُسْتَحَاضُ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ دَمَ الْحَيْضِ دَمٌ أَسْوَدُ يُعْرَفُ فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَأَمْسِكِي عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ، وَإِذَا كَانَ الْآخَرُ فَتَوَضَّئِي وَصَلِّي " ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : قَدْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ ، لَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ مَا ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish suffered from Istihadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to her:` "Menstrual blood is blood that is black and recognizable, so if it is like that, then stop praying, and if it is otherwise, then perform Wudu' and pray." Abu 'Abdur-Rahman said: Others reported this Hadith, and none of them mentioned what Ibn Abi 'Adi mentioned. And Allah Most High, knows best.
Hadith 271
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنَ كَيْسَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، قال : قال أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، إِذْ قَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ ، نَاوِلِينِي الثَّوْبَ " ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي لَا أُصَلِّي ، قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِي يَدِكِ " ، فَنَاوَلَتْهُ .
´Abu Hurairah said:` "While the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was in the Masjid, he said: 'O 'Aishah, hand me the garment.' She said: 'I am not praying.' He said: 'It is not in your hand.' So she gave it to him."
Hadith 285
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ صُبْحٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ خِلَاسًا ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : " كُنْتُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيتُ فِي الشِّعَارِ الْوَاحِدِ وَأَنَا طَامِثٌ أَوْ حَائِضٌ ، فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ مِنِّي شَيْءٌ غَسَلَ مَكَانَهُ وَلَمْ يَعْدُهُ وَصَلَّى فِيهِ ، ثُمَّ يَعُودُ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ مِنِّي شَيْءٌ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَلَمْ يَعْدُهُ وَصَلَّى فِيهِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and I would sleep under a single blanket when I was menstruating. If anything got on him from me, he would wash that spot and no more, and pray in it, then come back. If anything got on it again from me, he would do likewise and no more, and he would pray in it."
Hadith 292
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَيَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، قَالوا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قال : أَتَيْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ حَجَّةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَحَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، خَرَجَ لِخَمْسٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ وَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ ، حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَى ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَلَدَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ ، مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ ؟ قَالَ : " اغْتَسِلِي وَاسْتَثْفِرِي ثُمَّ أَهِلِّي " .
´Ja'far bin Muhammad said:` "My father told me: 'We cam to jabir bin 'Abdullah and asked him about the hajj of the prophet (ﷺ). He narrated: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set out when there were five (days) remaining in Dhul-Qa'dah, and we set out with him. When he came to Dhul-Hulaifah, Asma' bint 'Umais gave birth to Muhammad bin Abi Bakr. She sent word to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asking what she should do. He said: 'Perform Ghusl, bind yourself with a cloth then begin (the Talbiyah for Ihram).'"
Hadith 357
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ ابْنَةَ جَحْشٍ كَانَتْ تُسْتَحَاضُ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ ، فَسَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : لَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ عِرْقٌ ، " فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَتْرُكَ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْرَ أَقْرَائِهَا وَحَيْضَتِهَا وَتَغْتَسِلَ وَتُصَلِّيَ " . فَكَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ .

Hadith 362
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ ، أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تُسْتَحَاضُ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ دَمُ الْحَيْضِ فَإِنَّهُ دَمٌ أَسْوَدُ يُعْرَفُ فَأَمْسِكِي عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ، وَإِذَا كَانَ الْآخَرُ فَتَوَضَّئِي فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ عِرْقٌ " . قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ هَذَا مِنْ كِتَابِهِ .

وأَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ مِنْ حِفْظِهِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ كَانَتْ تُسْتَحَاضُ ، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ دَمَ الْحَيْضِ دَمٌ أَسْوَدُ يُعْرَفُ ، فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَأَمْسِكِي عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِذَا كَانَ الْآخَرُ فَتَوَضَّئِي وَصَلِّي " . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : قَدْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ مَا ذَكَرَ ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، وَاللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish suffered from Istihadah. Hadith 372

Hadith 383
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ ، قال : قال أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، إِذْ قَالَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ نَاوِلِينِي الثَّوْبَ " ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي لَا أُصَلِّي ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِي يَدِكِ " ، فَنَاوَلَتْهُ .

Hadith 424
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ دَعَا بِشَيْءٍ نَحْوِ الْحِلَابِ فَأَخَذَ بِكَفِّهِ بَدَأَ بِشِقِّ رَأْسِهِ الْأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ الْأَيْسَرِ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِكَفَّيْهِ ، فَقَالَ بِهِمَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed Ghusl from Janabah, he would call for something like a vessel used for milking a she-camel, then he would take (some water) in his hand and start with the right side of his head, then the left, then take (some water) in his hands and start pouring it on his head."
Hadith 429
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَيَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، قَالَوا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قال : أَتَيْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ ، فَحَدَّثَنَا أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ لِخَمْسٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ وَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ ، حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَى ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَلَدَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ ؟ فَقَالَ : " اغْتَسِلِي ثُمَّ اسْتَثْفِرِي ثُمَّ أَهِلِّي " .
´Ja'far bin Muhammad said:` "My father told me: 'We came to Jabir bin 'Abdullah and asked him about the Hajj of the Prophet (ﷺ). He narrated; "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set out when there were five (days) remaining in Dhul-Qa'dah, and we set out with him. When he came to Dhul-Hulaifah, Asma' bint 'Umais gave birth to Muhammad bin Abi Bakr. She sent word to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asking what he should do. He said: 'Perform Ghusl, bind yourself with a cloth then begin (the Talbiyah for Ihram).'"
Hadith 471
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ ، قال : " خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ ، قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى : إِلَى الْبَطْحَاءِ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ وَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَالْعَصْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَنَزَةٌ " .
´It was narrated that Al-Hakam bin 'Utaibah said:` "I heard Abu Juhaifah say: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set off at midday, during the time of intense heat' - (One of the narrators) Ibn Al-Muthanna said, to Al-Batha' - and he performed Wudu', and prayed Zuhr, two Rak'ahs, and 'Asr, two Rak'ahs, with a short spear ('Anzah) in front of him.
Hadith 492
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى دَابَّتِهِ وَهُوَ مُقْبِلٌ مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، وَفِيهِ أُنْزِلَتْ فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ سورة البقرة آية 115 " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray while on his animal when he was coming back from Makkah to Madinah. Concerning this, the verse was revealed: So wherever you turn (yourselves or your faces) there is the Face of Allah.'" [1] [1] Al-Baqarah 2:115.
Hadith 540
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، قال : سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ : هَلِ اتَّخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، أَخَّرَ لَيْلَةً صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ إِلَى قَرِيبٍ مِنْ شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ ، فَلَمَّا أَنْ صَلَّى أَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُوهَا " . قَالَ أَنَسٌ : كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَبِيصِ خَاتَمِهِ فِي حَدِيثِ عَلِيٍّ إِلَى شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ .
´Humaid said:` "Anas was asked: 'Did the Prophet (ﷺ) use a ring?' He said: 'Yes. One night he delayed the later 'Isha' prayer, until almost halfway through the night. When he prayed the Prophet (ﷺ) turned his face toward us and said: 'You are still in a state of prayer so long as you waiting for it.'" Anas said: 'It is as if I can see the luster of his ring.' According to the narration of 'Ali - that is, Ibn Hujr - "until halfway through the night."
Hadith 551
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ سَجْدَةً مِنَ الصُّبْحِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا ، وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ سَجْدَةً مِنَ الْعَصْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` "Whoever catches up with a prostration of Subh before the sun rises, then he has caught up with it; and whoever catches up with a prostration of 'Asr before the sun sets, then he has caught up with it."
Hadith 647
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْكُوفِيِّ ، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قال : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْمُقَدَّمِ ، وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ يُغْفَرُ لَهُ بِمَدِّ صَوْتِهِ وَيُصَدِّقُهُ مَنْ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ رَطْبٍ وَيَابِسٍ ، وَلَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ مَنْ صَلَّى مَعَهُ " .
´It was narrated from Al-Bara bin 'Azib that the Prophet of Allah (S.A.W) said:` "Allah and His angels say salah upon the front rows, and the Mu'adhdhin will be forgiven as far as his voice reaches, and whatever hears him, wet or dry, will confirm what he says, and he will have a reward like that of those who pray with him."
Hadith 659
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، وَسَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، أَنَّهُ " صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ بِجَمْعٍ بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ " . ثُمَّ حَدَّثَ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ، وَحَدَّثَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Jubair that he prayed Maghrib and 'Isha' in Jam' (Muzdalifah) with one Iqamah, then he narrated that Ibn 'Umar had done that, and Ibn 'Umar narrated that the Prophet (S.A.W) had done that.
Hadith 709
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، قال : إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْ شَجَرَتَيْنِ مَا أُرَاهُمَا إِلَّا خَبِيثَتَيْنِ هَذَا الْبَصَلُ وَالثُّومُ ، وَلَقَدْ " رَأَيْتُ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا وَجَدَ رِيحَهُمَا مِنَ الرَّجُلِ ، أَمَرَ بِهِ فَأُخْرِجَ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ " ، فَمَنْ أَكَلَهُمَا فَلْيُمِتْهُمَا طَبْخًا .
´It was narrated from Ma'dam bin Abi Talhah that 'Umar bin Al-Khattab said:` "O people, you eat of two plants which I do not think are anything but bad, this onion and garlic. I have seen the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ), if he noticed their smell coming from a man, ordering that he be taken out to Al-Baqi'. Whoever eats them, let him cook them to death."
Hadith 787
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى صَاحِبُ الْبُصْرَى ، قال : سَمِعْتُ شُعْبَةَ يَذْكُرُ ، عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا " أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ صَلَّى لِلنَّاسِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّفِّ " .
It was narrated from Aisha that Abu Bakr led the people in prayer and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)was in the row.
Hadith 855
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : بِحُنَيْنٍ فَأَصَابَنَا مَطَرٌ " فَنَادَى مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Al Malih that his father said:` "We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in Hunain and it rained. The caller of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called out, telling us: 'Pray where you are."'
Hadith 876
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ ، قال : سَأَلْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي النَّهَارِ قَبْلَ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ قَالَ : مَنْ يُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ ، ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَنَا قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي حِينَ تَزِيغُ الشَّمْسُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَقَبْلَ نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ يَجْعَلُ التَّسْلِيمَ فِي آخِرِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Ishaq, that Asim bin Damrah said:` "I asked 'Ali bin Abi Talib about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) during the day before the prescribed prayers. He said: 'Who is able to do that?' Then he told us:'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray two Rak'ahs when the sun had passed its zenith, and four Rak'ahs before the middle of the day, with the Taslim at the end."'
Hadith 885
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَدَخَلَ رَجُلٌ فَصَلَّى ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ : " ارْجِعْ فَصَلِّ فَإِنَّكَ لَمْ تُصَلِّ " فَرَجَعَ فَصَلَّى كَمَا صَلَّى ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ : رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَعَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ ارْجِعْ فَصَلِّ فَإِنَّكَ لَمْ تُصَلِّ " فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا أُحْسِنُ غَيْرَ هَذَا فَعَلِّمْنِي قَالَ : " إِذَا قُمْتَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَكَبِّرْ ثُمَّ اقْرَأْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مَعَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ثُمَّ ارْكَعْ حَتَّى تَطْمَئِنَّ رَاكِعًا ثُمَّ ارْفَعْ حَتَّى تَعْتَدِلَ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ اسْجُدْ حَتَّى تَطْمَئِنَّ سَاجِدًا ثُمَّ ارْفَعْ حَتَّى تَطْمَئِنَّ جَالِسًا ثُمَّ افْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فِي صَلَاتِكَ كُلِّهَا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered the Masjid, then a man entered and prayed, then he came and greeted the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) with Salam. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) returned his greeting and said: Go back and pray, for you have not prayed." So he went back and prayed as he has prayed before, then he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and greeted him with Salam, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: "Wa alaika as-salam (and upon you be peace). Go back and pray for you have not prayed." He did that three times, then the man said: "By the One Who sent you with the truth, I cannot do any better than that; teach me." He said: "When you stand to pray, say the Takbir, then recite whatever is easy for you of Quran. Then bow until you have tranquility in your bowing, then stand up until you are standing straight. Then prostrate until you have tranquility in your prostration, then sit up until you have tranquility in your sitting. Then do that throughout your entire prayer."
Hadith 902
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ وَقَتَادَةَ ، وَحُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِنَا إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَدَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَقَدْ حَفَزَهُ النَّفَسُ فَقَالَ : اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاتَهُ قَالَ : " أَيُّكُمُ الَّذِي تَكَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَاتٍ " فَأَرَمَّ الْقَوْمُ قَالَ : إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَقُلْ بَأْسًا قَالَ : أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ جِئْتُ وَقَدْ حَفَزَنِي النَّفَسُ فَقُلْتُهَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ مَلَكًا يَبْتَدِرُونَهَا أَيُّهُمْ يَرْفَعُهَا " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was leading us in prayer when a man came and entered the masjid, and he was out of breath. He said: 'Allahu Akbar, al-hamdulillahi hamdan kathiran tayiban mubarakan fih. (Allah is Most Great, praise be to Allah, much good and blessed praise.)' When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had finished his prayer he said: 'Which of you is the one who spoke these words?' The people kept quiet. He said: 'He did not say anything bad.' The man said: 'I did, O Messenger of Allah. I came and I was out of breath, and I said it.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'I saw twelve angels rushing to see which of them would take it up.'"
Hadith 918
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قال : صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الظُّهْرَ فَقَرَأَ رَجُلٌ خَلْفَهُ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى فَلَمَّا صَلَّى قَالَ : " مَنْ قَرَأَ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى " ، قَالَ رَجُلٌ : أَنَا قَالَ : " قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ قَدْ خَالَجَنِيهَا " .
´It was narrated that Imran bin Hussain said:` "The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed Zuhr and a man behind him recited: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High. When he had finished praying, he said: 'Who recited: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High?" A man said: 'I did.' He said: 'I realized that some of you were disputing with me over it'".
Hadith 978
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ وَسُورَتَيْنِ وَفِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ وَكَانَ يُسْمِعُنَا الْآيَةَ أَحْيَانًا وَكَانَ يُطِيلُ أَوَّلَ رَكْعَةٍ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah that his father said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite the Umm Al-Quran and two surahs in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and 'Asr, and in the last two with Umm Al-Quran, and he would make us hear a verse sometimes, and he used to make the first rak'ah lengthy."
Hadith 1078
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ . ح وَهِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَنَتَ شَهْرًا " قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : لَعَنَ رِجَالًا وَقَالَ هِشَامٌ : يَدْعُو عَلَى أَحْيَاءٍ مِنْ أَحْيَاءِ الْعَرَبِ ، ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ هَذَا قَوْلُ هِشَامٍ ، وَقَالَ شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَنَتَ شَهْرًا يَلْعَنُ رِعْلًا ، وَذَكْوَانَ ، وَلِحْيَانَ " .
´It was narrated from Anas:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said the Qunut for a month."- (One of the narrators) Shu'bah said: "He cursed some men." Hisham said: "He supplicated against some of the tribes of Arabs."-"Then he stopped doing that after bowing." This is what Hisham said. Shu'bah said, narrating from Qatadah, from Anas that the Prophet (ﷺ) said the Qunut for a month, cursing Ri'l, Dhawkan and Lihyan.
Hadith 1086
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ نَصْرِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ ، أَنَّهُ " رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فِي صَلَاتِهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَإِذَا سَجَدَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ بِهِمَا فُرُوعَ أُذُنَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from Malik bin Al-Huwairith that:` He saw the Prophet (ﷺ) raise his hands when praying, when he bowed, when he raised his head from bowing, when he prostrated and when he raised his head from prostrating, until they were in level with the top part of his ears.
Hadith 1087
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ نَصْرِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ ، أَنَّهُ " رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ " .
´It was narrated from Malik bin Al-Huwairith that:` He saw the Prophet (ﷺ) raise his hands, a similar report.
Hadith 1088
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ نَصْرِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ وَزَادَ فِيهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ " .
´It was narrated from Malik bin Al-Huwairith that:` He saw the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) raise his hands when he started to pray, and he narrated a similar report and added: "When he bowed he did likewise, and when he raised his head from bowing he did likewise, and when he raised his head from prostration he did likewise."
Hadith 1126
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قالت : فَقَدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ أَتَى بَعْضَ جَوَارِيهِ فَطَلَبْتُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ سَاجِدٌ يَقُولُ : " رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ " .
´It was narrated that Aishah said:` "I noticed that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was missing and I thought he had gone to visit one of his concubines, so I looked for him and found him prostrating and saying: 'Rabbighfirli ma asrartu wa ma a'lant (O Allah, forgive me for what (sin) I have concealed and what I have done openly).'"
Hadith 1144
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ نَصْرِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ كُلَّهُ يَعْنِي رَفْعَ يَدَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from Malik bin Al-Huwairith that:` When the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) started to pray, he raised his hands, and when he bowed, he did likewise, and when he raised his head from bowing he did likewise, and when he raised his head from prostration, he did likewise, meaning he raised his hands.
Hadith 1164
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : كُنَّا لَا نَدْرِي مَا نَقُولُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ غَيْرَ أَنْ نُسَبِّحَ وَنُكَبِّرَ وَنَحْمَدَ رَبَّنَا وَإِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَّمَ فَوَاتِحَ الْخَيْرِ وَخَوَاتِمَهُ فَقَالَ : " إِذَا قَعَدْتُمْ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَقُولُوا التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلْيَتَخَيَّرْ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ أَعْجَبَهُ إِلَيْهِ فَلْيَدْعُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah said:` "We used not to know what we should say in each rak'ah apart from glorifying, magnifying and praising our Lord. But Muhammad (ﷺ) taught us everything about what is good. He said: "When you sit following every two rak'ahs, then say: At-tahiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibat, as-salamu 'alaika ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatAllahi wa baraktuhu. As-salamu 'alaina wa 'ala 'ibad illahis-salihin, ashahdu an la illaha ill-Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu (Allah compliments, prayers and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah (SWT) and his blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah (SWT). I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger), then choose any supplication that you like and call upon Allah the Mighty and Sublime with it.'"
Hadith 1208
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ زَادَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى فِي الصَّلَاةِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The Tasbih is for men, and clapping is for women." Ibn Al-Muthanna added: "During the prayer."
Hadith 1255
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ الْمُثَنَّى , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا , فَقِيلَ لَهُ : أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ , قَالَ : " وَمَا ذَاكَ " , قَالُوا : صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا , فَثَنَى رِجْلَهُ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah said:` "The Prophet(ﷺ) prayed Zuhr with five rak'ahs, and it was said to him: 'Has something been added to the prayer?' He said: 'Why are you asking?' They said: 'You prayed five.' So he turned around and prostrated twice."
