Hadith 15
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحِ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ ، حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ خَاصَمَ الزُّبَيْرَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي شِرَاجِ الْحَرَّةِ الَّتِي يَسْقُونَ بِهَا النَّخْلَ ، فَقَالَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ : سَرِّحِ الْمَاءَ يَمُرُّ ، فَأَبَى عَلَيْهِ ، فَاخْتَصَمَا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اسْقِ يَا زُبَيْرُ ، ثُمَّ أَرْسِلِ الْمَاءَ إِلَى جَارِكَ ، فَغَضِبَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنْ كَانَ ابْنَ عَمَّتِكَ ؟ فَتَلَوَّنَ وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا زُبَيْرُ " اسْقِ ، ثُمَّ احْبِسِ الْمَاءَ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الْجَدْرِ " قَالَ ، فَقَال : الزُّبَيْرُ : وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَحْسَبُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ نَزَلَتْ فِي ذَلِكَ ، فَلا وَرَبِّكَ لا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّى يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لا يَجِدُوا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا سورة النساء آية 65 .
´It was narrated from Urwah bin Zubair that 'Abdullah bin Zubair told him that:` A man from the Ansar had a dispute with Zubair in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) concerning a stream in the Harrah which they used to irrigate the date-palm trees. The Ansari said: "Let the water flow" but Zubair refused. So they referred that dispute to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) who said: "Irrigate (your land), O Zubair., and then let the water flow to your neighbor." The Ansari became angry and said "O Messenger of Allah, is it because he is your cousin?" The face of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) changed color (because of anger) and he said: "O Zubair, irrigate (your land) then block the water until it flows back to the walls around the date-palm trees." Zubair said: "By Allah, I think that this verse was revealed concerning this matter. ' But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.' "
Hadith 32
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ ، حَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ : مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever tells lies about me', I (the narrator) think that he also said 'deliberately', let him take his place in Hell.'"
Hadith 107
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِامْرَأَةٍ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ ، فَقُلْتُ : لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ ؟ ، فَقَالَتْ : لِعُمَرَ ، فَذَكَرْتَ غَيْرَتَهُ ، فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا " ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : " فَبَكَى عُمَرُ ، فَقَالَ : أَعَلَيْكَ بِأَبِي ، وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَغَارُ " .
´Abu Hurairah said:` "We were sitting with the Prophet and he said: 'While I was sleeping I saw myself in Paradise (in a dream), and I saw a woman performing ablution beside a palace. I asked: "Whose palace is this?" She said: "'Umar's." I remembered his protective jealousy, so I turned away and left.'" Abu Hurairah said: ''Umar wept and said: 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! Would I feel any protective jealousy against you?'"
Hadith 130
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، وَإِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، يَقُولُ : لَقَدْ جَمَعَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ أَبَوَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : " ارْمِ سَعْدُ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي " .
´It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Musayyab said:` "I heard Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas say: 'The Messenger of Allah mentioned his parents together for me on the Day of Uhud. He said: 'Shoot, Sa'd! May my father and mother be sacrificed for you!'"
Hadith 205
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " أَيُّمَا دَاعٍ دَعَا إِلَى ضَلَالَةٍ فَاتُّبِعَ ، فَإِنَّ لَهُ مِثْلَ أَوْزَارِ مَنِ اتَّبَعَهُ ، وَلَا يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَوْزَارِهِمْ شَيْئًا ، وَأَيُّمَا دَاعٍ دَعَا إِلَى هُدًى فَاتُّبِعَ ، فَإِنَّ لَهُ مِثْلَ أُجُورِ مَنِ اتَّبَعَهُ ، وَلَا يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْئًا " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that:` The Messenger of Allah said: "Every caller who invites people to misguidance and is followed, will have a burden of sin equal to that of those who follow him, without that detracting from their burden in the slightest. And every caller who invites people to true guidance and is followed, will have a reward equal to that of those who follow him, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.'"
Hadith 317
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، أَنَّه سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ جَزْءٍ الزُّبَيْدِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : أَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ " ، وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ حَدَّثَ النَّاسَ بِذَلِك .
´'Abdullah bin Harith bin Jaz' Az-Zubaidi said:` "I am the first one who heard the Prophet say: 'No one among you should urinate facing towards the Qiblah,' and I am the first one who told the people of that."
Hadith 343
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ " نَهَى عَنْ أَنْ يُبَالَ فِي الْمَاءِ الرَّاكِدِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that:` The Messenger of Allah forbade urinating into standing water.
Hadith 376
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، نَبَّأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كُنْتُ أَغْتَسِلُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah and I would take a bath from a single vessel."
Hadith 387
حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنِ بَكْرِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ مَخْشِيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْفِرَاسِيِّ ، قَالَ : " كُنْتُ أَصِيدُ ، وَكَانَتْ لِي قِرْبَةٌ أَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَاءً ، وَإِنِّي تَوَضَّأْتُ بِمَاءِ الْبَحْرِ ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ " هُوَ الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn Firasi said:` "I was fishing and I had a vessel with me in which I kept water, and I used seawater for ablution. I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah and he said: 'Its water is a means of purification, and its dead meat is permissible.'"
Hadith 465
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى عَقِيلٍ ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّهُ لَمَّا كَانَ عَامُ الْفَتْحِ ، " قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى غُسْلِهِ فَسَتَرَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَاطِمَةُ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ ثَوْبَهُ فَالْتَحَفَ بِهِ " .
´Umm Hani' bint Abu Talib narrated that :` When it was the year of the Conquest (of Makkah), the Messenger of Allah got up to perform a bath and Fatimah screened him. Then he took his garment and wrapped himself in it (such that it became like the towel used to dry oneself).
Hadith 540
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ حُدَيْجٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أُخْتَه أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فِي الثَّوْبِ الَّذِي يُجَامِعُ فِيهِ ؟ قَالَتْ : " نَعَمْ إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ أَذًى " .
´It was narrated from Mu'awiyah bin Abu Sufyan that:` He asked his sister Umm Habibah, the wife of the Prophet: "Did the Messenger of Allah ever offered prayer in a garment in which he had sexual intercourse?" She said: "Yes, if there was nothing noxious on it."
Hadith 545
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ لِحَاجَتِهِ ، فَاتَّبَعَهُ الْمُغِيرَةُ بِإِدَاوَةٍ فِيهَا مَاءٌ ، حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ حَاجَتِهِ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ ، وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Urwah bin Mughirah bin Shu'bah from his father Mughirah bin Shu'bah, that:` The Messenger of Allah went out to relieve himself, and Mughirah followed him with a vessel of water. When he finished relieving himself, he performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks.
Hadith 565
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " سَقَطَ عِقْدُ عَائِشَةَ فَتَخَلَّفَتْ لِالْتِمَاسِهِ ، فَانْطَلَقَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ ، فَتَغَيَّظَ عَلَيْهَا فِي حَبْسِهَا النَّاسَ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الرُّخْصَةَ فِي التَّيَمُّمِ ، قَالَ : " فَمَسَحْنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلَى الْمَنَاكِبِ " ، قَالَ : فَانْطَلَقَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا عَلِمْتُ إِنَّكِ لَمُبَارَكَةٌ .
´It was narrated that 'Ammar bin Yasir said:` "Aishah dropped a necklace and stayed behind to look for it. Abu Bakr went to 'Aishah and got angry with her for keeping the people waiting. Then Allah revealed the concession allowing dry ablution, so we wiped our arms up to the shoulders. Abu Bakr went to 'Aishah and said: 'I did not know that you are blessed.'"
Hadith 584
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، نَبَّأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "When the Messenger of Allah wanted to sleep and he was sexually impure, he would perform ablution as for prayer."
Hadith 614
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ فَلَمْ أَجِدْ أَحَدًا يُخْبِرُنِي ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبَّحَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، حَتَّى أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ ، " فَأَمَرَ بِسِتْرٍ فَسُتِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَاغْتَسَلَ ، ثُمَّ سَبَّحَ ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Harith bin Nawfal said:` "I asked whether the Messenger of Allah prayed voluntary prayer when traveling, but I could not find anyone to tell me until Umm Hani' bint Abu Talib told me that he had come during the year of the Conquest (of Makkah). He ordered that a screen be held up, and that was done, and he took a bath; then he prayed eight Rak'ah (units) of voluntary prayer."
Hadith 620
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ ، حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّهَا أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَشَكَتْ إِلَيْهِ الدَّمَ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ ، فَانْظُرِي إِذَا أَتَى قَرْؤُكِ فَلَا تُصَلِّي ، فَإِذَا مَرَّ الْقَرْءُ فَتَطَهَّرِي ، ثُمَّ صَلِّي مَا بَيْنَ الْقَرْءِ إِلَى الْقَرْءِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Urwah bin Zubair that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish narrated to him that:` She went to the Messenger of Allah and complained to him about bleeding. The Messenger of Allah said: "Rather that is a vein, so look and see when your period comes, then do not perform the prayer. When the period is over, then purify yourself and perform the prayer between one period to the next."
Hadith 668
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَاعِدًا عَلَى مَيَاثِرِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ فِي إِمَارَتِهِ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، وَمَعَهُ عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، فَأَخَّر عُمَرُ الْعَصْرَ شَيْئًا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُرْوَةُ : أَمَا إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى إِمَامَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ : اعْلَمْ مَا تَقُولُ يَا عُرْوَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ بَشِيرَ بْنَ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " نَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ فَأَمَّنِي فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَهُ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَهُ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ ، يَحْسُبُ بِأَصَابِعِهِ خَمْسَ صَلَوَاتٍ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn Shihab that:` He was sitting on the cushions of 'Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz when he was the leader over Al-Madinah, and with him was 'Urwah bin Zubair. "umar delayed 'Asr somewhat, and 'Urwah said to him: "Jibril came down and led the Messenger of Allah in prayer." 'Umar said to him: "Know what you are saying, O 'Urwah!" he said: "I heard Bashir bin Abu Mas'ud saying, 'I heard Abu Mas'ud saying, "I heard the Messenger of Allah saying, 'Jibril came down and led me in prayer, and I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him,' and he counted five prayers on his fingers."
Hadith 678
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالظُّهْرِ ، فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Messenger of Allah said: "When it is very hot, then wait for it to cool down before you pray, for intense heat is from the flaring up of the Hell-fire."
Hadith 682
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَان " يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ حَيَّةٌ ، فَيَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى الْعَوَالِي ، وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that:` The Messenger of Allah used to pray 'Asr when the sun was still hot and high, and if a person were to go to the suburbs (of Al-Madinah) he would be able to reach it while the sun was still hot and high.
Hadith 721
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ الْحُكَيْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَسْمَعُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ : وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا ، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا ، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا ، غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ " .
´It was narrated from Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas that:` The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever says, when he hears the Mu'adh-dhin, 'Wa ana Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluhu, radaytu Billahi rabban wa bil-islami dinan wa bi muhammadin nabiyyan (And I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, and I am content with Allah as my Lord, Islam as my religion and Muhammad as my Prophet),' his sins will be forgiven to him."
Hadith 735
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجَعْفَرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ الْعَدَوِيِّ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُذْكَرُ فِيهِ اسْمُ اللَّهِ ، بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Umar bin Khattab said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever builds a mosque in which the Name of Allah is mentioned, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise.'"
Hadith 747
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ ، حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " سَبْعُ مَوَاطِنَ لَا تَجُوزُ فِيهَا الصَّلَاةُ : ظَاهِرُ بَيْتِ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمَقْبَرَةُ ، وَالْمَزْبَلَةُ ، وَالْمَجْزَرَةُ ، وَالْحَمَّامُ ، وَعَطَنُ الْإِبِلِ ، وَمَحَجَّةُ الطَّرِيقِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Umar bin Khattab that:` The Messenger of Allah said: "There are seven places where it is not permissible to perform the prayer: The top of the House of Allah; graveyards; garbage dumps; slaughterhouses; bathrooms; the area that camels rest, and the main road."
Hadith 763
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّاسِ فَحَتَّهَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ : " إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا كَانَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قِبَلَ وَجْهِهِ ، فَلَا يَتَنَخَّمَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ قِبَلَ وَجْهِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said:` "The Messenger of Allah saw some sputum in the prayer direction of the mosque, when he was praying in front of the people. He scratched it off, then when the prayer was over, he said: 'When anyone of you is performing prayer, Allah is before him, so none of you should spit toward the front while praying.'"
Hadith 836
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ صَلَّى بِأَصْحَابِهِ الْعِشَاءَ فَطَوَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اقْرَأْ ب : الشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا وَ سَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى و اللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى وَ اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that Mu’adh bin Jabal led his companions for the ‘Isha’ and he made the prayer too long for them. The Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Recite ‘By the sun and its brightness,’[Al-Shams (91)] ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,’ [Al-A’la (87)] ‘By the night as it envelops,’ [Al-Lail (92)] or, ‘Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has created.’” [Al-‘Alaq (96)]
Hadith 900
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، وَطَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَا التَّشَهُّدَ كَمَا يُعَلِّمُنَا السُّورَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ، فَكَانَ يَقُولُ : " التَّحِيَّاتُ الْمُبَارَكَاتُ الصَّلَوَاتُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ لِلَّهِ ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to teach us the Tashah-hud as he used to teach us a Surah of the Qur’an. He used to say: ‘At-Tahiyyatul-Mubarakatus salawatut-tayyibatu lillah; As-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu; as-salamu ‘alayna wa ‘ala ‘ibadillahis-salihin. Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasuluhu (All blessed compliments and good prayers are due to Allah; peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings; peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger).’”
Hadith 986
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ بِأَصْحَابِهِ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ ، فَطَوَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَانْصَرَفَ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا ، فَصَلَّى ، فَأُخْبِرَ مُعَاذٌ عَنْهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ مُنَافِقٌ ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلَ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ مَا قَالَ لَهُ مُعَاذٌ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَتُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ فَتَّانًا يَا مُعَاذُ ، إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ بِالنَّاسِ فَاقْرَأْ ب : الشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا وَ سَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَ اللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى وَ اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` “Mu’adh bin Jabal Al-Ansari led his companions in the ‘Isha’ prayer and he made it long. A man among us went away and prayed by himself. Mu’adh was told about that and he said: ‘He is a hypocrite.’ When the man heard about that, he went to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and told him what Mu’adh had said to him. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘Do you want to be a cause of Fitnah (trial, tribulation), O Mu’adh? When you lead the people in prayer, recite “By the sun and its brightness,”[Ash-Shams 91] and “Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High,” [Al-A’la 87] and “By the night as it envelopes,” [Al-Lail 92] and “Recite in the Name of your Lord.’”[Al-‘Alaq]
Hadith 1018
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِحَاجَةٍ ، ثُمَّ أَدْرَكْتُهُ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي ، فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيَّ ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ دَعَانِي فَقَالَ : " إِنَّكَ سَلَّمْتَ عَلَيَّ آنِفًا وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` “The Prophet (ﷺ) sent me on an errand, then I caught up with him while he was performing prayer, and I greeted him. He gestured to me, then when he finished, he called me and said: ‘You greeted me before, but I was performing prayer.’”
Hadith 1066
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْر بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ : " إِنَّا نَجِدُ صَلَاةَ الْحَضَرِ ، وَصَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فِي الْقُرْآنِ ، وَلَا نَجِدُ صَلَاةَ السَّفَرِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَعَثَ إِلَيْنَا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ شَيْئًا ، فَإِنَّمَا نَفْعَلُ كَمَا رَأَيْنَا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُ " .
´It was narrated from Umayyah bin ‘Abdullah bin Khalid that he said to ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar:` “We find (mention of) the prayer of the resident and the prayer in a state of fear in the Qur’an, but we do not find any mention of the prayer of the traveler. ‘Abdullah said to him: “Allah sent Muhammad (ﷺ) to us, and we did not know anything, rather we do what we saw Muhammad (ﷺ) doing.”
Hadith 1130
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ : " أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى الْجُمُعَةَ انْصَرَفَ فَصَلَّى سَجْدَتَيْنِ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ " .
´It was narrated that when ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar had prayed Friday, he went and prayed two Rak’ah in his house. Then he said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to do that.”
Hadith 1145
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ إِذَا نُودِيَ لِصَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، رَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقُومَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ " .
It was narrated from Hafsah bint ‘Umar that when the call for the Subh prayer was given, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would pray two short Rak’ah before going to the prayer.
Hadith 1168
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الزَّوْفِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُرَّةَ الزَّوْفِيِّ ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ حُذَافَةَ الْعَدَوِيِّ ، قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَمَدَّكُمْ بِصَلَاةٍ لَهِيَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ مِنْ حُمُرِ النَّعَمِ الْوِتْرُ ، جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ إِلَى أَنْ يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ " .
´It was narrated that Kharijah bin Hudhafah Al-‘Adawi said:` “The Prophet (ﷺ) came out to us and said: ‘Allah has increased a prayer for you which is better for you than red camels. (It is) Witr, which Allah has enjoined on you between the ‘Isha’ prayer and the onset of dawn.’”
Hadith 1240
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : اشْتَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَصَلَّيْنَا وَرَاءَهُ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ يُكَبِّرُ يُسْمِعُ النَّاسَ تَكْبِيرَهُ ، فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا ، فَرَآنَا قِيَامًا ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَعَدْنَا ، فَصَلَّيْنَا بِصَلَاتِهِ قُعُودًا ، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنْ كِدْتُمْ أَنْ تَفْعَلُوا فِعْلَ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومِ ، يَقُومُونَ عَلَى مُلُوكِهِمْ وَهُمْ قُعُودٌ ، فَلَا تَفْعَلُوا ، ائْتَمُّوا بِأَئِمَّتِكُمْ إِنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَصَلُّوا قِيَامًا ، وَإِنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) fell ill, and we prayed behind him while he was sitting down, and Abu Bakr was saying the Takbir so that the people could hear them. He turned to us and saw us standing, so he gestured to us to sit down. When he had said the Salam, he said: ‘You were about to do the action of the Persians and Romans, who remain standing while their kings are seated. Do not do that. Follow the lead of your Imam; if he prays standing, then pray standing, and if he prays sitting down, then pray sitting down.’”
Hadith 1319
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The night prayer is (to be offered) two by two.”
Hadith 1396
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَظُنُّهُ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّقَفِيِّ ، أَنَّهُمْ غَزَوْا غَزْوَةَ السُّلَاسِلِ ، فَفَاتَهُمُ الْغَزْوُ ، فَرَابَطُوا ، ثُمَّ رَجَعُوا إِلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَعِنْدَهُ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ ، وَعُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، فَقَالَ عَاصِمٌ : يَا أَبَا أَيُّوبَ ، فَاتَنَا الْغَزْوُ الْعَامَ ، وَقَدْ أُخْبِرْنَا : أَنَّهُ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ الْأَرْبَعَةِ غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا ابْنَ أَخِي ، أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى أَيْسَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ كَمَا أُمِرَ ، وَصَلَّى كَمَا أُمِرَ ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا قَدَّمَ مِنْ عَمَلٍ " ، أَكَذَلِكَ يَا عُقْبَةُ ؟ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ .
´It was narrated from ‘Asim bin Sufyan Thaqafi that they went on the campaign of Salasil, but no battle took place; they only took up their positions. Then they came back to Mu’awiyah, and Abu Ayyub and ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir were with him. ‘Asim said:` “O Abu Ayyub, we have missed out on Jihad this year, and we were told that whoever prays in the four mosques will be forgiven his sins.” He said: “O son of my brother, shall I not tell you of something easier than that? I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Whoever performs ablution as he has been commanded, and prays as he has been commanded, will be forgiven his previous (bad) deeds.’” He said: “(Did he not say it) like that, O ‘Uqbah?” He said: “Yes.”
Hadith 1402
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي نَمِرٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ : " بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ جُلُوسٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى جَمَلٍ ، فَأَنَاخَهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، ثُمَّ عَقَلَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ : أَيُّكُمْ مُحَمَّدٌ ؟ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَّكِئٌ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْهِمْ ، قَالَ : فَقَالُوا : هَذَا الرَّجُلُ الْأَبْيَضُ الْمُتَّكِئُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ : يَا ابْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَدْ أَجَبْتُكَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ : يَا مُحَمَّدُ ، إِنِّي سَائِلُكَ وَمُشَدِّدٌ عَلَيْكَ فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ ، فَلَا تَجِدَنَّ عَلَيَّ فِي نَفْسِكَ ، فَقَالَ : سَلْ مَا بَدَا لَكَ ، قَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ : نَشَدْتُكَ بِرَبِّكَ وَرَبِّ مَنْ قَبْلَكَ ، آللَّهُ أَرْسَلَكَ إِلَى النَّاسِ كُلِّهِمْ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَنْشُدُكَ بِاللَّهِ ، آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسَ فِي الْيَوْمِ وَاللَّيْلَةِ ؟ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَنْشُدُكَ بِاللَّهِ ، آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تَصُومَ هَذَا الشَّهْرَ مِنَ السَّنَةِ ؟ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَنْشُدُكَ بِاللَّهِ ، آللَّهُ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ هَذِهِ الصَّدَقَةَ مِنْ أَغْنِيَائِنَا ، فَتَقْسِمَهَا عَلَى فُقَرَائِنَا ؟ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ : آمَنْتُ بِمَا جِئْتَ بِهِ ، وَأَنَا رَسُولُ مَنْ وَرَائِي مِنْ قَوْمِي " ، وَأَنَا ضِمَامُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ أَخُو بَنِي سَعْدِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ .
´It was narrated from Sharik bin ‘Abdullah bin Abu Namir that he heard Anas bin Malik say:` “While we were sitting in the mosque, a man entered riding a camel; he made it kneel in the mosque, then he hobbled it and said to them: ‘Which of you is Muhammad?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was reclining among them, so they said: ‘This fair- skinned man who is reclining.’ The man said to him: ‘O son of ‘Abdul- Muttalib!’ The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘I am listening to you.’ The man said: O Muhammad! I am asking you and will be stern in asking, so do not bear any ill-feelings towards me.’ He said: ‘Ask whatever you think.’ The man said: ‘I adjure you by your Lord and the Lord of those who came before you, has Allah sent you to all of mankind?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.; He said: ‘I adjure you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to pray the five prayers each day and night?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.’ He said: ‘I adjure you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to fast this month of each year?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.’ He said: ‘I adjure you by Allah, has Allah commanded you to take this charity from our rich and distribute it among our poor?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘By Allah, yes.’ The man said: ‘I believe in what you have brought, and I am the envoy of my people who are behind me. I am Dimam bin Tha’labah, the brother of Banu Sa’d bin Bakr.’”
Hadith 1514
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كَانَ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةِ مِنْ قَتْلَى أُحُدٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : " أَيُّهُمْ أَكْثَرُ أَخْذًا لِلْقُرْآنِ " ، فَإِذَا أُشِيرَ لَهُ إِلَى أَحَدِهِمْ قَدَّمَهُ فِي اللَّحْدِ ، وَقَالَ : " أَنَا شَهِيدٌ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ ، وَأَمَرَ بِدَفْنِهِمْ فِي دِمَائِهِمْ ، وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ، وَلَمْ يُغَسَّلُوا " .
´It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to put two or three of the slain of Uhud in one shroud. He would ask:` “Which of them had memorized more Qur’an?” And if one of them was pointed out to him, he would put him in the niche-grave first. And he said: “I am a witness over them.” He commanded that they should be buried with their blood, and that the funeral prayer should not be offered for them and they should not be washed.
Hadith 1542
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ سَمِعَهُ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْجِنَازَةَ فَقُومُوا لَهَا حَتَّى تُخَلِّفَكُمْ ، أَوْ تُوضَعَ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Amir bin Rabi’ah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “When you see a funeral (procession) stand up for it until it has passed by or it is placed on the ground.”
Hadith 1567
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ ، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْيَزَنِيِّ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَأَنْ أَمْشِيَ عَلَى جَمْرَةٍ ، أَوْ سَيْفٍ ، أَوْ أَخْصِفَ نَعْلِي بِرِجْلِي ، أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَمْشِيَ عَلَى قَبْرِ مُسْلِمٍ ، وَمَا أُبَالِي أَوَسْطَ الْقُبُورِ قَضَيْتُ حَاجَتِي ، أَوْ وَسْطَ السُّوقِ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` ‘If I were to walk on a live coal or a sword, or if I were to sew shows to my feet, that would be better for me than walking on the grave of a Muslim. And I see no difference between relieving myself in the midst of graves or in the middle of the marketplace.”
Hadith 1596
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا الصَّبْرُ عِنْدَ الصَّدْمَةِ الْأُولَى " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "Patience should come with the first shock."
Hadith 1623
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَرْجِسَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَمُوتُ وَعِنْدَهُ قَدَحٌ فِيهِ مَاءٌ ، فَيُدْخِلُ يَدَهُ فِي الْقَدَحِ ، ثُمَّ يَمْسَحُ وَجْهَهُ بِالْمَاءِ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى سَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:` “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he was dying, and there was a bowl of water next to him. He put his hand in the vessel and wiped his face with the water, and said: ‘O Allah, help me to bear the agonies of death.’”
