Hadith 2787
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " الْخَيْلُ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “There is goodness in the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection.”
Hadith 2844
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّقَ نَخْلَ بَنِي النَّضِيرِ ، وَقَطَعَ وَهِيَ الْبُوَيْرَةُ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : مَا قَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ لِينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوهَا قَائِمَةً سورة الحشر آية 5 ، الْآيَةَ .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) burned the palm trees of Banu Nadir, and cut down Buwairah (the name of their garden). Then Allah revealed the words:` “What you (O Muslims) cut down of the palm trees (of the enemy), or you left them standing...” [59:5]
Hadith 2848
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، قَالَ : تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَشْجَعَ بِخَيْبَرَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ ، فَأَنْكَرَ النَّاسُ ذَلِكَ ، وَتَغَيَّرَتْ لَهُ وُجُوهُهُمْ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ قَالَ : إِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ غَلَّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " ، قَالَ زَيْدٌ : فَالْتَمَسُوا فِي مَتَاعِهِ ، فَإِذَا خَرَزَاتٌ مِنْ خَرَزِ يَهُودَ مَا تُسَاوِي دِرْهَمَيْنِ .
´It was narrated that Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani said:` “A man from (the tribe of) Ashja’ died in Khaibar, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘Offer the funeral prayer for your companion.’ The people found that strange.* When he saw that, he said: ‘Your companion stole from the spoils of war (when fighting) in the cause of Allah.’”
Hadith 2864
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، وَسُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ الْمَكِّيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " عَلَى الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِ الطَّاعَةُ فِيمَا أَحَبَّ أَوْ كَرِهَ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْمَرَ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ ، فَإِذَا أُمِرَ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ فَلَا سَمْعَ وَلَا طَاعَةَ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The Muslim is obliged to obey (the ruler) whether he likes it or not, unless he is commanded to commit an act of disobedience. If he is commanded to commit a sin then he should neither listen nor obey.”
Hadith 2869
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ عَبْدٌ فَبَايَعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ ، وَلَمْ يَشْعُرِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ عَبْدٌ ، فَجَاءَ سَيِّدُهُ يُرِيدُهُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بِعْنِيهِ " ، فَاشْتَرَاهُ بِعَبْدَيْنِ أَسْوَدَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يُبَايِعْ أَحَدًا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ، حَتَّى يَسْأَلَهُ : أَعَبْدٌ هُوَ ؟ .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` “A slave came and gave his pledge to the Prophet (ﷺ), pledging to emigrate, and the Prophet (ﷺ) did not realize that he was a slave. Then his master came looking for him, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘Sell him to me,’ and he brought him in exchange for two black slaves. Then after that he did not accept the pledge from anyone until he had asked whether he was a slave.”
Hadith 2880
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَنْهَى أَنْ يُسَافَرَ بِالْقُرْآنِ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْعَدُوِّ ، مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يَنَالَهُ الْعَدُوُّ " .
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to forbid traveling with the Qur’an to the land of the enemy, lest the enemy gets hold of it.
Hadith 2926
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : " طَيَّبْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِإِحْرَامِهِ ، قَبْلَ أَنْ يُحْرِمَ ، وَلِحِلِّهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُفِيضَ " ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ : بِيَدَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ .
´It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:` “I put perfume on the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for his Ihram before he entered into it, and when he exited Ihram before he returned.”*
Hadith 3020
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْخَطْمِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : " صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ ، فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Yazid Al-Khatmi that he heard Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari say:` “I prayed Maghrib and ‘Isha’ with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) during the Farewell Pilgrimage, at Muzdalifah.”
Hadith 3072
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، وَعُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " حَاضَتْ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ حُيَيٍّ بَعْدَ مَا أَفَاضَتْ ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : أَحَابِسَتُنَا هِيَ ؟ ، فَقُلْتُ : إِنَّهَا قَدْ أَفَاضَتْ ، ثُمَّ حَاضَتْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَلْتَنْفِرْ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:` “Safiyyah bint Huyai got her menses after she had done Tawaful-Ifadah.” ‘Aishah said: “I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said: ‘Has she detained us?’ I said: ‘She performed Tawaful-Ifadah then she got her menses after that.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Then let her depart.’”
Hadith 3090
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا صَعْبُ بْنُ جَثَّامَةَ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا بِالْأَبْوَاءِ أَوْ بِوَدَّانَ ، فَأَهْدَيْتُ لَهُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى فِي وَجْهِيَ الْكَرَاهِيَةَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ ، وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:` “Sa;b bin Jaththamah told us: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by me when I was in Abwa’ or Waddan, and I gave him some meat of a wild donkey, but he gave it back to me, and when he saw from my face that I was upset, he said: ‘The only reason that we are giving it back is that we are in Ihram.’”
Hadith 3094
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، وَعَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أن عائشة زوج النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُهْدِي مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَأَفْتِلُ قَلَائِدَ هَدْيِهِ ، ثُمَّ لَا يَجْتَنِبُ شَيْئًا مِمَّا يَجْتَنِبُ الْمُحْرِمُ " .
‘Aishah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said; “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to send the sacrificial animal from Al-Madinah, and I would twist the garlands for his sacrificial animal, then, he would not (because of that) avoid the things that the one in Ihram avoids.”
Hadith 3108
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُقَيْلٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَدِيِّ بْنِ الْحَمْرَاءِ ، قَالَ لَهُ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ وَاقِفٌ بِالْحَزْوَرَةِ ، يَقُولُ : " وَاللَّهِ إِنَّكِ لَخَيْرُ أَرْضِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَحَبُّ أَرْضِ اللَّهِ إِلَيَّ ، وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا أَنِّي أُخْرِجْتُ مِنْكِ مَا خَرَجْتُ " .
´Abu Salamah bin ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Adiy bin Hamra’ said to him:` “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), when he was on his she-camel, standing in Al-Hazwarah* saying: ‘By Allah, you are the best land of Allah, and the dearest of the land of Allah to me. By Allah, had I not been expelled from you I would never have left.’” *A place in Makkah.
Hadith 3138
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطَاهُ غَنَمًا ، فَقَسَمَهَا عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ ضَحَايَا فَبَقِيَ عَتُودٌ ، فَذَكَرَهُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : ضَحِّ بِهِ أَنْتَ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave him some sheep, and he distributed them among his Companions to be sacrificed. There remained an ‘Atud.* He mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said:` “You sacrifice it yourself.”
Hadith 3253
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ الْإِسْلَامِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ : " تُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ ، وَتَقْرَأُ السَّلَامَ عَلَى مَنْ عَرَفْتَ وَمَنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ):` “O Messenger of Allah, which (aspect) of Islam is the best?” He said: “Offering food (to the needy) and greeting with Salam those whom you know and those whom you do not know.”
Hadith 3268
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا تَأْكُلُوا بِالشِّمَالِ ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْكُلُ بِالشِّمَالِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Do not eat with your left hand, for Satan eats with his left hand.”
Hadith 3290
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَحَدُكُمْ قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ مَمْلُوكُهُ طَعَامًا ، قَدْ كَفَاهُ عَنَاءَهُ وَحَرَّهُ , فَلْيَدْعُهُ فَلْيَأْكُلْ مَعَهُ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ فَلْيَأْخُذْ لُقْمَةً فَلْيَجْعَلْهَا فِي يَدِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “When the slave of anyone of you brings his food to him, for which he (the slave) has worked hard and endured heat, let him invite him to eat with him, and if he does not do that then let him take a morsel and put it in his hand.”
Hadith 3379
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ , أَنَّ خَالِدَ بْنَ كَثِيرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيّ حَدَّثَهُ , أَنَّ السَّرِيَّ بْنَ إِسْمَاعِيل حَدَّثَهُ , أَنَّ الشَّعْبِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ , يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مِنَ الْحِنْطَةِ خَمْرًا , وَمِنَ الشَّعِيرِ خَمْرًا , وَمِنَ الزَّبِيبِ خَمْرًا , وَمِنَ التَّمْرِ خَمْرًا , وَمِنَ الْعَسَلِ خَمْرًا " .
´It was narrated from Nu’man bin Bashir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “From wheat comes wine, from barley comes wine, from raisins comes wine, from dates comes wine and from honey comes wine.”
Hadith 3402
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنْ يُنْبَذَ فِي الْمُزَفَّتِ وَالْقَرْعِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade making Nabidh in Muzaffat or a gourd.”
Hadith 3410
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " غَطُّوا الْإِنَاءَ وَأَوْكُوا السِّقَاءَ , وَأَطْفِئُوا السِّرَاجَ , وَأَغْلِقُوا الْبَابَ , فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَحُلُّ سِقَاءً , وَلَا يَفْتَحُ بَابًا , وَلَا يَكْشِفُ إِنَاءً , فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ يَعْرُضَ عَلَى إِنَائِهِ عُودًا وَيَذْكُرَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ فَلْيَفْعَلْ , فَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضْرِمُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ بَيْتَهُمْ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Cover your vessels, tie your water skins, extinguish your lamps and lock your doors, for Satan does not untie a water skin, open a door or uncover a vessel. If a person cannot find anything but a stick with which to cover his vessel and mention the Name of Allah, then let him do so. And the mouse could set fire to the house with its people inside.”
Hadith 3413
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ نَافِعٍ , عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ , أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ الَّذِي يَشْرَبُ فِي إِنَاءِ الْفِضَّةِ , إِنَّمَا يُجَرْجِرُ فِي بَطْنِهِ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ " .
´It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The one who drinks from a silver vessel is swallowing Hell-fire into his belly.”
Hadith 3447
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْمِصْرِيَّانِ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ , أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُمَا , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ فِي الْحَبَّةِ السَّوْدَاءِ شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ , إِلَّا السَّامَ " , وَالسَّامُ الْمَوْتُ , وَالْحَبَّةُ السَّوْدَاءُ الشُّونِيزُ .
´Abu Hurairah narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:` “In black seed there is healing for every disease, except the Sam.” "Sam means death. And black seed is Shuwniz."
Hadith 3480
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , اسْتَأْذَنَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْحِجَامَةِ , " فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا طَيْبَةَ أَنْ يَحْجُمَهَا " , وَقَالَ : حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ أَخَاهَا مِنَ الرِّضَاعَةِ أَوْ غُلَامًا لَمْ يَحْتَلِمْ " .
It was narrated from Jabir that Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for permission to be cupped, and the Prophet (ﷺ) told Abu Taibah to cup her.
Hadith 3673
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , وَعَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ جَمِيعًا , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ , عَنْ عَمْرَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَا زَالَ جِبْرِيلُ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ , حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ " .
´Aisha narrated that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "Jibra'il kept enjoining good treatment of neighbours untol I thought that he would make neigbours heirs."
Hadith 3676
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ , عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : قُلْنَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّكَ تَبْعَثُنَا فَنَنْزِلُ بِقَوْمٍ , فَلَا يَقْرُونَا فَمَا تَرَى فِي ذَلِكَ , قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِنْ نَزَلْتُمْ بِقَوْمٍ , فَأَمَرُوا لَكُمْ بِمَا يَنْبَغِي لِلضَّيْفِ فَاقْبَلُوا , وَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا , فَخُذُوا مِنْهُمْ حَقَّ الضَّيْفِ الَّذِي يَنْبَغِي لَهُمْ " .
´It was narrated that Uqbah bin Amir said:` "We said to the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ): ' You send us and we stay with people who do not show us any hospitality. WHat do you think of that?' The MEssenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'If you stay with people and they give you what a guest deserves, then accept it. If they do not do that , then take from them what they should have offered, which a guest is entitled to.'"
Hadith 3835
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ , عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : عَلِّمْنِي دُعَاءً أَدْعُو بِهِ فِي صَلَاتِي , قَالَ : " قُلْ : اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْمًا كَثِيرًا , وَلَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ , فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَغْفِرَةً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ , وَارْحَمْنِي إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Bakr Siddiq that :` he said to the Messenger of Allah (saas): "Teach me a supplication which I can say during my prayer." He said: "Say: Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran wa la yaghfirudh-dhunub illa Anta, faghfirli maghfiratan min 'indika warhamni, innaka Antal-Ghafurur-Rahim (O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly and no one forgives sins but You, so grant me forgiveness from You and have mercy on me, for You are the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful)."
Hadith 3837
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ , عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْأَرْبَعِ : مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ , وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ , وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ , وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ " .
´Abu Hurairah told that the Messenger of Allah (saas) said:` 'Allahumma! Inni a'udhu bika minal-arba': min 'ilmin la yanfa'u, wa min qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa min nafsin la tashba'u, wa min du'a'in la yusma' [O Allah, I seek refuge with You from four things: From knowledge that is of no benefit, from a heart that does not fear (You), from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not heard].'"
Hadith 3875
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ شُرَحْبِيلَ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ أَخْبَرَهُ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ , نَفَثَ فِي يَدَيْهِ , وَقَرَأَ , وَمَسَحَ بِهِمَا جَسَدَهُ " .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that:` whenever the Prophet (saas) went to bed, he would blow into his hands, recite Al-Mu'awwidhatain, then wipe his hands over his body.
Hadith 3902
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ رَآنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ , فَقَدْ رَآنِي , إِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلشَّيْطَانِ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ فِي صُورَتِي " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever sees me in a dream has (really) seen me, for Satan cannot appear in my form.”
Hadith 3908
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمُ الرُّؤْيَا يَكْرَهُهَا فَلْيَبْصُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ثَلَاثًا , وَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ثَلَاثًا , وَلْيَتَحَوَّلْ عَنْ جَنْبِهِ الَّذِي كَانَ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “If anyone of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him spit dryly to his left three times and seek refuge with Allah from Satan three times, and turn over onto his other side.”
Hadith 3909
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ , عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " الرُّؤْيَا مِنَ اللَّهِ , وَالْحُلْمُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ , فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ شَيْئًا يَكْرَهُهُ , فَلْيَبْصُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ثَلَاثًا , وَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ ثَلَاثًا , وَلْيَتَحَوَّلْ عَنْ جَنْبِهِ الَّذِي كَانَ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Qatadah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “(Good) dreams come from Allah and (bad) dreams come from Satan, so if anyone of you sees something that he dislikes, let him spit dryly to his left three times, and seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan three times, and turn over onto his other side.”
Hadith 3913
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا حَلَمَ أَحَدُكُمْ , فَلَا يُخْبِرِ النَّاسَ بِتَلَعُّبِ الشَّيْطَانِ بِهِ فِي الْمَنَامِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “If anyone of you has a bad dream, he should not tell people about how Satan played with him in his dream.”
Hadith 3925
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ الْهَادِ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ , أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ قَدِمَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَكَانَ إِسْلَامُهُمَا جَمِيعًا , فَكَانَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَشَدَّ اجْتِهَادًا مِنَ الْآخَرِ , فَغَزَا الْمُجْتَهِدُ مِنْهُمَا فَاسْتُشْهِدَ , ثُمَّ مَكَثَ الْآخَرُ بَعْدَهُ سَنَةً ثُمَّ تُوُفِّيَ , قَالَ طَلْحَةُ : فَرَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ بَيْنَا أَنَا عِنْدَ بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ , إِذَا أَنَا بِهِمَا فَخَرَجَ خَارِجٌ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ , فَأَذِنَ لِلَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ الْآخِرَ مِنْهُمَا , ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَأَذِنَ لِلَّذِي اسْتُشْهِدَ , ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيَّ , فَقَالَ : ارْجِعْ فَإِنَّكَ لَمْ يَأْنِ لَكَ بَعْدُ , فَأَصْبَحَ طَلْحَةُ يُحَدِّثُ بِهِ النَّاسَ فَعَجِبُوا لِذَلِكَ , فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَحَدَّثُوهُ الْحَدِيثَ , فَقَالَ : " مِنْ أَيِّ ذَلِكَ تَعْجَبُونَ " , فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , هَذَا كَانَ أَشَدَّ الرَّجُلَيْنِ اجْتِهَادًا ثُمَّ اسْتُشْهِدَ , وَدَخَلَ هَذَا الْآخِرُ الْجَنَّةَ قَبْلَهُ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَيْسَ قَدْ مَكَثَ هَذَا بَعْدَهُ سَنَةً " , قَالُوا : بَلَى , قَالَ : " وَأَدْرَكَ رَمَضَانَ , فَصَامَ وَصَلَّى كَذَا وَكَذَا مِنْ سَجْدَةٍ فِي السَّنَةِ " , قَالُوا : بَلَى , قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا أَبْعَدُ مِمَّا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ " .
´It was narrated from Talhah bin ‘Ubaidullah that two men from Bali came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). They had become Muslim together, but one of them used to strive harder than the other. The one who used to strive harder went out to fight and was martyred. The other one stayed for a year longer, then he passed away. Talhah said:` “I saw in a dream that I was at the gate of Paradise and I saw them (those two men). Someone came out of Paradise and admitted the one who had died last, then he came out and admitted the one who had been martyred. Then he came back to me and said: ‘Go back, for your time has not yet come.’” The next morning, Talhah told the people of that and they were amazed. News of that reached the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and they told him the story. He said: “Why are you so amazed at that?” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, the first one was the one who strove harder, then he was martyred, but the other one was admitted to Paradise before him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Did he not stay behind for a year?” They said: “Yes.” He said: “And did not Ramadan come and he fasted, and he offered such and such prayers during that year?” They said: “Yes.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The difference between them is greater than the difference between heaven and earth.”
Hadith 3936
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا يَزْنِي الزَّانِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ , وَلَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ حِينَ يَشْرَبُهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ , وَلَا يَسْرِقُ السَّارِقُ حِينَ يَسْرِقُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ , وَلَا يَنْتَهِبُ نُهْبَةً يَرْفَعُ النَّاسُ إِلَيْهِ أَبْصَارَهُمْ , حِينَ يَنْتَهِبُهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The adulterer, at the time he is committing adultery, is not a believer; (the wine drinker) at the time he is drinking, is not a believer; the thief, at the time he is stealing, is not a believer; the plunderer, at the time he is plundering with the people looking on, is not a believer.”
Hadith 3982
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْمِصْرِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ , أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا يُلْدَغُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مِنْ جُحْرٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ " .
´Abu Hurairah said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The believer should not be stung from the same hole twice.”
Hadith 3995
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ , عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ , يَقُولُ : قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ , فَقَالَ : " لَا وَاللَّهِ مَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمْ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِلَّا مَا يُخْرِجُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ مِنْ زَهْرَةِ الدُّنْيَا " , فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , أَيَأْتِي الْخَيْرُ بِالشَّرِّ ؟ فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَاعَةً , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " كَيْفَ قُلْتَ ؟ " , قَالَ : قُلْتُ : وَهَلْ يَأْتِي الْخَيْرُ بِالشَّرِّ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْخَيْرَ لَا يَأْتِي إِلَّا بِخَيْرٍ , أَوَ خَيْرٌ هُوَ إِنَّ كُلَّ مَا يُنْبِتُ الرَّبِيعُ يَقْتُلُ حَبَطًا , أَوْ يُلِمُّ إِلَّا آكِلَةَ الْخَضِرِ أَكَلَتْ , حَتَّى إِذَا امْتَلَأَتِ امْتَدَّتْ خَاصِرَتَاهَا , اسْتَقْبَلَتِ الشَّمْسَ فَثَلَطَتْ وَبَالَتْ , ثُمَّ اجْتَرَّتْ فَعَادَتْ فَأَكَلَتْ , فَمَنْ يَأْخُذُ مَالًا بِحَقِّهِ يُبَارَكُ لَهُ , وَمَنْ يَأْخُذُ مَالًا بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهِ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يَأْكُلُ وَلَا يَشْبَعُ " .
´Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up and addressed the people saying: ‘No, by Allah, I do not fear for you, O people, but I fear the attractions of this world that Allah brings forth for you.’ A man said to him: ‘O Messenger of Allah(ﷺ), does good bring forth evil?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) remained silent for a while, then he said: ‘What did you say?’ He said: ‘I said, does good bring forth evil?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Good does not bring forth anything but good, but is it really good? Everything that grows on the banks of a stream may either kill if overeaten or (at least) make the animals sick, except if an animal eats its fill of Khadir* and then faces the sun, and then defecates and urinates, chews the cud and then returns to graze again. Whoever takes wealth in a lawful manner, it will be blessed for him, but whoever takes it in an unlawful manner, his likeness is that of one who eats and it never satisfied.’”
Hadith 4003
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ الْهَادِ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ تَصَدَّقْنَ , وَأَكْثِرْنَ مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ , فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُكُنَّ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ " , فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ جَزْلَةٌ : وَمَا لَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ , قَالَ : " تُكْثِرْنَ اللَّعْنَ , وَتَكْفُرْنَ الْعَشِيرَ , مَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْ نَاقِصَاتِ عَقْلٍ وَدِينٍ أَغْلَبَ لِذِي لُبٍّ مِنْكُنَّ " , قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , وَمَا نُقْصَانُ الْعَقْلِ وَالدِّينِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَمَّا نُقْصَانِ الْعَقْلِ : فَشَهَادَةُ امْرَأَتَيْنِ تَعْدِلُ شَهَادَةَ رَجُلٍ , فَهَذَا مِنْ نُقْصَانِ الْعَقْلِ , وَتَمْكُثُ اللَّيَالِيَ مَا تُصَلِّي , وَتُفْطِرُ فِي رَمَضَانَ , فَهَذَا مِنْ نُقْصَانِ الدِّينِ " .
´It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “O women, give in charity and pray a great deal for forgiveness, for I have seen that you form the majority of the people of Hell.” A woman who was very wise said: “Why is it, O Messenger of Allah, that we form the majority of the people of Hell?” He said: “You curse a great deal and you are ungrateful to your husbands, and I have never seen anyone lacking in discernment and religion more overwhelming to a man of wisdom than you.” She said: “O Messenger of Allah, what is this lacking in discernment and religion?” He said: “The lack of discernment is the fact that the testimony of two women is equal to the testimony of one man; this is the lack of reason. And (a woman) spends several nights when she does not pray, and she does not fast in Ramadhan, and this is the lack in religion.”
Hadith 4031
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ , عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ , عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " عِظَمُ الْجَزَاءِ مَعَ عِظَمِ الْبَلَاءِ , وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَحَبَّ قَوْمًا ابْتَلَاهُمْ , فَمَنْ رَضِيَ فَلَهُ الرِّضَا , وَمَنْ سَخِطَ فَلَهُ السُّخْطُ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allah loves a people He tests them. Whoever accepts that wins His pleasure but whoever is discontent with that earns His wrath.”
Hadith 4227
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , قَالَا : أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنَ وَقَّاصٍ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ , فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " إِنَّمَا الْأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ , وَلِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى , فَمَنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَإِلَى رَسُولِهِ , فَهِجْرَتُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَإِلَى رَسُولِهِ , وَمَنْ كَانَتْ هِجْرَتُهُ لِدُنْيَا يُصِيبُهَا أَوِ امْرَأَةٍ يَتَزَوَّجُهَا , فَهِجْرَتُهُ إِلَى مَا هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِ " .
´‘Alqamah bin Waqqas (said) that he heard ‘Umar bin Khattab, when he was addressing the people, saying:` “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Actions are but by the intention and every man will have but that which he intended. So he whose emigration was for Allah and His Messenger, his emigration was for Allah and His Messenger. But he whose emigration was for some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his emigration was for that which he migrated.”
Hadith 4300
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ , حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ , حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو , يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُصَاحُ بِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى رُءُوسِ الْخَلَائِقِ , فَيُنْشَرُ لَهُ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُونَ سِجِلًّا , كُلُّ سِجِلٍّ مَدَّ الْبَصَرِ , ثُمَّ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : هَلْ تُنْكِرُ مِنْ هَذَا شَيْئًا , فَيَقُولُ : لَا يَا رَبِّ , فَيَقُولُ : أَظَلَمَتْكَ كَتَبَتِي الْحَافِظُونَ , ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : أَلَكَ عُذْرًا ؟ أَلَكَ عنْ ذَلِكَ حَسَنَةٌ ؟ فَيُهَابُ الرَّجُلُ فَيَقُولُ : لَا , فَيَقُولُ : بَلَى , إِنَّ لَكَ عِنْدَنَا حَسَنَاتٍ , وَإِنَّهُ لَا ظُلْمَ عَلَيْكَ الْيَوْمَ , فَتُخْرَجُ لَهُ بِطَاقَةٌ فِيهَا : أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ , وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ , قَالَ : فَيَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ , مَا هَذِهِ الْبِطَاقَةُ مَعَ هَذِهِ السِّجِلَّاتِ , فَيَقُولُ : إِنَّكَ لَا تُظْلَمُ , فَتُوضَعُ السِّجِلَّاتُ فِي كِفَّةٍ وَالْبِطَاقَةُ فِي كِفَّةٍ , فَطَاشَتِ السِّجِلَّاتُ وَثَقُلَتِ الْبِطَاقَةُ " , قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى : الْبِطَاقَةُ الرُّقْعَةُ , وَأَهْلُ مِصْرَ يَقُولُونَ لِلرُّقْعَةِ : بِطَاقَةً .
´‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “A man from my nation will be called before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection, and ninety-nine scrolls will be spread out for him, each one extending as far as the eye can see. Then Allah will say: “Do you deny anything of this?” He will say: “No, O Lord.” He will say: “Have My recording scribes been unfair to you?” Then He will say: “Apart from that, do you have any good deeds?” The man will be terrified and will say: “No.” (Allah) will say: “Indeed, you have good deeds with Us, and you will not be treated unjustly this Day.” Then a card will be brought out on which is written Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah wa anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu (I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger). He will say: “O Lord, what is this card compared with these scrolls?” He will say: “You will not be treated unjustly.” Then the scrolls will be placed in one side of the Balance and the card in the other. The scrolls will go up (i.e., be light) and the card will go down (i.e., will weigh heavily).”
