Hadith 1412
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: A person should not enter into a transaction when his brother is already making a transaction and he should not make a proposal of marriage when his brother has already made a proposal except when lie gives permission.

Nafi reported: I went to Rafi bin Khadij in the company of Ibn 'Umar (All be pleased with them) until he (Ibn 'Umar) came to him at Balat (a place near Prophet's Mosque at Madinah) and he (Rafi bin Khadij) informed him that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had forbidden the renting of land.

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " أَعْطَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْبَرَ بِشَطْرِ مَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْ ثَمَرٍ ، أَوْ زَرْعٍ ، فَكَانَ يُعْطِي أَزْوَاجَهُ كُلَّ سَنَةٍ مِائَةَ وَسْقٍ : ثَمَانِينَ وَسْقًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ ، وَعِشْرِينَ وَسْقًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ " ، فَلَمَّا وَلِيَ عُمَرُ قَسَمَ خَيْبَرَ خَيَّرَ أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنْ يُقْطِعَ لَهُنَّ الْأَرْضَ وَالْمَاءَ ، أَوْ يَضْمَنَ لَهُنَّ الْأَوْسَاقَ كُلَّ عَامٍ ، فَاخْتَلَفْنَ ، فَمِنْهُنَّ مَنِ اخْتَارَ : الْأَرْضَ وَالْمَاءَ ، وَمِنْهُنَّ مَنِ اخْتَارَ : الْأَوْسَاقَ كُلَّ عَامٍ ، فَكَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ ، وَحَفْصَةُ ، مِمَّنْ اخْتَارَتَا الْأَرْضَ وَالْمَاءَ .
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) handed over the land of Khaibar (on the condition) of the share of produce of fruits and harvest, and he also gave to his wives every year one hundred wasqs: eighty wasqs of dates and twenty wasqs of barley. When 'Umar became the caliph he distributed the (lands and trees) of Khaibar, and gave option to the wives of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) to earmark for themselves the land and water or stick to the wasqs (that they got) every year. They differed in this matter. Some of them opted for land and water, and some of them opted for wasqs every year. 'A'isha and Hafsa were among those who opted for land and water.

Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) contracted with the people of Khaibar (land and trees on the condition that they should give) half of the yield from land and trees. The rest of the hadith is the same. In the hadith transmitted on the authority of AIi bin Mushir there is no mention of it, but that A'isha and Hafsa were those who opted for land and water, but he (the narrator) said: He (Hadrat 'Umar, gave option to the wives of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) that land would be earmarked for them, but he made no mention of water.

Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who emancipates his share in the slave, it is his responsibility to secure full freedom for him provided he (the slave) has enough money to pay the (remaining) price, but if he has not so much money he would be emancipated to the extent that the first man emancipated.

عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، " أَنَّ ّرَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِيَهُودِيٍّ وَيَهُودِيَّةٍ قَدْ زَنَيَا ، فَانْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى جَاءَ يَهُودَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا تَجِدُونَ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ عَلَى مَنْ زَنَى ؟ ، قَالُوا : نُسَوِّدُ وُجُوهَهُمَا وَنُحَمِّلُهُمَا وَنُخَالِفُ بَيْنَ وُجُوهِهِمَا وَيُطَافُ بِهِمَا ، قَالَ : فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ، فَجَاءُوا بِهَا فَقَرَءُوهَا حَتَّى إِذَا مَرُّوا بِآيَةِ الرَّجْمِ ، وَضَعَ الْفَتَى الَّذِي يَقْرَأُ يَدَهُ عَلَى آيَةِ الرَّجْمِ ، وَقَرَأَ مَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا وَمَا وَرَاءَهَا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ وَهُوَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرْهُ : فَلْيَرْفَعْ يَدَهُ فَرَفَعَهَا ، فَإِذَا تَحْتَهَا آيَةُ الرَّجْمِ ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرُجِمَا " ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ : كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ رَجَمَهُمَا فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ يَقِيهَا مِنَ الْحِجَارَةِ بِنَفْسِهِ ،
Abdullah bin 'Umar reported that a Jew and a Jewess were brought to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who had committed adultery. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to the Jews and said: What do you find in Torah for one who commits adultery? They said: We darken their faces and make them ride on the donkey with their faces turned to the opposite direction (and their backs touching each other), and then they are taken round (the city). He said: Bring Torah if you are truthful. They brought it and recited it until when they came to the verse pertaining to stoning, the person who was reading placed his hand on the verse pertaining to stoning, and read (only that which was) between his hands and what was subsequent to that.'Abdullah bin Salim who was at that time with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Command him (the reciter) to lift his hand. He lifted it and there was, underneath that, the verse pertaining to stoning. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) pronounced judgment about both of them and they were stoned.'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: I was one of those who stoned them, and I saw him (the Jew) protecting her (the Jewess) with his body.
Hadith 1703
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) and Zaid bin Khalid al-Juhani, but in this no mention is made of the words of Ibn Shihab that dafir means rope.

It is narrated by Ibn 'Umar that a woman was found killed in one of these battles; so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade the killing of women and children.

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " عَلَى الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِ السَّمْعُ وَالطَّاعَةُ فِيمَا أَحَبَّ وَكَرِهَ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْمَرَ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ ، فَإِنْ أُمِرَ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ فَلَا سَمْعَ وَلَا طَاعَةَ " ،
It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: It is obligatory upon a Muslim that he should listen (to the ruler appointed over him) and obey him whether he likes it or not, except that he is ordered to do a sinful thing. If he is ordered to do a sinful act, a Muslim should neither. listen to him nor should he obey his orders.

It has been narrated on the authority of" Ubida who learnt the tradition from his father who, in turn, learnt it from his own father. 'Ubadah's grandfather said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took an oath of allegiance from us on our listening to and obeying the orders of our commander in adversity and prosperity, in pleasure and displeasure (and even) when somebody is given preference over us, on our avoiding to dispute the delegation of powers to a person deemed to be a fit recipient thereof (in the eye of one who delegates it) and on our telling the truth in whatever position we be without fearing in the matter ef Allah the reproach of the reproacher.

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَال : " عَرَضَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فِي الْقِتَالِ ، وَأَنَا ابْنُ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً ، فَلَمْ يُجِزْنِي وَعَرَضَنِي يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ ، وَأَنَا ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً ، فَأَجَازَنِي ، قَالَ نَافِعٌ : فَقَدِمْتُ عَلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَلِيفَةٌ ، فَحَدَّثْتُهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ هَذَا لَحَدٌّ بَيْنَ الصَّغِيرِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، فَكَتَبَ إِلَى عُمَّالِهِ أَنْ يَفْرِضُوا لِمَنْ كَانَ ابْنَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً ، وَمَنْ كَانَ دُونَ ذَلِكَ فَاجْعَلُوهُ فِي الْعِيَالِ " .
It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) inspected me on the battlefield on the Day of Uhud, and I was fourteen years old. He did not allow me (to take part in the fight). He inspected me on the Day of Khandaq-and I was fifteen yearsold, and he permitted me (to fight), Nafi' said: I came to 'Umar bin 'Abdul ' Aziz (RA) who was then Caliph, and narrated this tradition to him. He said: Surely, this is the demarcation between a minor and a major. So he wrote to his governors that they should pay subsistence allowance to one who was fifteen years old, but should treat those of lesser age among children.
