Hadith 1025
Umair, the freed slave of Abi'l-Lahm reported: 1 was the slave (of Abi'l-Lahm). I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) if I could give some charity out of my master's wealth. He said: Yes, and the reward is half and half between you two.
Hadith 1029
Asma', daughter of Abu Bakr (RA) (Allah be pleated with him), reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: Spend, and do not calculate, or otherwise Allah would also calculate in your case.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَعْظَمُ أَجْرًا ؟ ، فَقَالَ : " أَمَا وَأَبِيكَ لَتُنَبَّأَنَّهُ أَنْ تَصَدَّقَ وَأَنْتَ صَحِيحٌ شَحِيحٌ ، تَخْشَى الْفَقْرَ وَتَأْمُلُ الْبَقَاءَ ، وَلَا تُمْهِلَ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ " ، قُلْتَ : لِفُلَانٍ كَذَا ، وَلِفُلَانٍ كَذَا ، وَقَدْ كَانَ لِفُلَانٍ ،
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that a person came to the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) and said: Messenger of Allah, which charity is the greatest in reward? (The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said): By your father, beware, you should give charity (in a state when you are) healthy and close-fisted, haunted by the fear of poverty, and still hoping to live (as rich). And you must not defer charity (to the time) when you are about to die, and would then say: "This is for so and so, and this for so and so." It has already become the possession of so and so.
Hadith 1035
Hakim bin Hizam reported: I begged the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) , and he gave me. I again begged, he again gave me. I again begged, he again gave me, and then said: This property is green and sweet; he who receives it with a cheerful heart is blessed in it, and he who receives it with an avaricious mind would not be blessed in it, he being like one who eats without being satished, and the upper hand is better than the lower hand.
Hadith 1037
Mu'awiyah said: Be cautious about ahadith except those which were current during the reign of Umar, for he exhorted people to fear Allah, the Exalted and Majestic. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: He upon whom Allah intends to bestow goodness, He confers upon him an insight in religion; and I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: I am the treasurer. To one whom I give out of (my own) sweet will, he would be blessed in that, but he whom I give (yielding to his constant begging and for his covetousness is like one who would eat, but would not be satisfied.
Hadith 1040
Hamza. son of 'Abdullah, reported on the authority of his father that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said: When a man is always begging from people, he would meet Allah (in a state) that there would be no flesh on his face.
Hadith 1054
'Amr bin al-'As reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He is successful who has accepted Islam, who has been provided with sufficient for his want and been made contented by Allah with what He has given him.

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: O Allah, make the provision of Muhammad's family sufficient just to sustain life.

عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَسْمًا ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : إِنَّهَا لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَارَرْتُهُ ، فَغَضِبَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ غَضَبًا شَدِيدًا وَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ ، حَتَّى تَمَنَّيْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَذْكُرْهُ لَهُ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ قَالَ : " قَدْ أَوُذِيَ مُوسَى بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ " .
Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) distributed spoils (of war). Upon this a person said: This is a distribution in which the pleasure of Allah has not been sought. I came to the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) and informed him in an undertone. He (the Holy Prophet) was deeply angry at this and his face became red till I wished that I had not made a mention of it to him. He (the Holy Prophet) then said: Moses (ؑ) was tormented more than this, but he showed patience.
Hadith 1063
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, Abdul Wahhab al-Thaqafi narrated to us, he said: I heard Yahya ibn Sa'id say: Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah.
And Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, Qurrah ibn Khalid narrated to me, Abu al-Zubayr narrated to me, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to distribute the spoils of war, and he continued with the hadith.
Hadith 1066
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of A'mash with the same chain of transmitters, but (these words) are not there: "They pass through the religion clean as the arrow passes through the prey."

'Ubaida narrated from 'Ali that he made a mention of the Khwarij (and in this connection) said that there would be a person among them with a defective hand. (or with a short hand) or a fleshy hand. If you were to exercise restraint, I would tell you what Allah has promised to those who would kill them on the order of Muhammad (ﷺ) . I (the narrator) said to him: Did you hear it from Muhammad: (ﷺ) ? He (Hadrat 'Ali) said: Yes, by the Lord of the Ka’bah; Yes, by the Lord of the Ka’bah; yes, by the Lord of the Ka’bah.
Hadith 1068
Yusair bin 'Amr reported that he inquired of Sahl bin Hunaif: Did you hear the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) making a mention of the Khwarij? He said: I heard him say (and he pointed with his hand towards the east) that these would be a people who would recite the Qur'an with their tongues and it would not go beyond their collar bones. They would pass clean through their religion just as the arrow passes through the prey.
Hadith 1068
Sahl bin Hunaif reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: There would arise from the east a people with shaven heads.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Shu'bahh with the same chain of transmitters (and the words of the Holy Prophet) are: "Sadaqa is not permissible for us."

Hadith 1074
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Abu Kurayb narrated to us, they said: Waki‘ narrated to us. H (another chain) and Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna and Ibn Bashar narrated to us, they said: Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, both of them from Shu‘bah, from Qatadah, from Anas. H (another chain) and ‘Ubaydullah ibn Mu‘adh narrated to us, and the wording is his, he said: My father narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, he heard Anas ibn Malik, who said: Barirah gave to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, meat that had been given to her as charity, so he said: "It is charity for her and a gift for us."

Hadith 1078
Yahya ibn Yahya, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, Amr al-Naqid, and Ishaq ibn Ibrahim narrated to us. Yahya said: Waki’ narrated to us from Shu’bah from Amr ibn Murrah, who said: I heard Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa.
And Ubaydullah ibn Mu’adh narrated to us—and the wording is his—he said: My father narrated to us from Shu’bah from Amr, and he is ibn Murrah. Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa narrated to us, who said: Whenever a people brought their charity to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he would say: “O Allah, send blessings upon them.” So my father, Abu Awfa, brought his charity to him, and he said: “O Allah, send blessings upon the family of Abu Awfa.”
Hadith 989
Jarir bin 'Abdullah said: 'When the collector of sadaqaht (Zakat) comes to you, (you should see) that he goes away pleased with you.
Hadith 1080

ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَكَرَ رَمَضَانَ ، فَضَرَبَ بِيَدَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : " الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ، ثُمَّ عَقَدَ إِبْهَامَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ ، فَصُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ ، فَإِنْ أُغْمِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْدِرُوا لَهُ ثَلَاثِينَ " ،
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) made a mention of Ramadan and he with the gesture of his hand said: The month is thus and thus. (He then withdrew his thumb at the third time). He then said: Fast when you see it, and break your fast when you see it, and if the weather is cloudy calculate it (the months of Sha'ban and Shawwal) as thirty days.
Hadith 1080
Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: We are an unlettered people who can neither write nor count. The month is thus, and thus folding his thumb when he said it the third time.
Hadith 1081
Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (may peace he upon him) made a mention of the new moon and (in this connection) said: Observe fast when you see it (the new moon) and break fast when you see it (the new moon of Shawwal), but when (the actual position of the month is) concealed from you (on account of cloudy sky), then count thirty days.
Hadith 1082
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Do not observe fast for a day, or two days ahead of Ramadan except a person who is in the habit of observing a particular fast; he may fast on that day.
Hadith 1086
Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (RA) said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) struck his hand against the other and (then with the gesture of his two hands) said: The month is thus, thus (two times). He then withdrew (one of) his fingers at the third turn.

أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا لِلْعُمْرَةِ فَلَمَّا نَزَلْنَا بِبَطْنِ نَخْلَةَ ، قَالَ : تَرَاءَيْنَا الْهِلَالَ ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ : هُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ ، وَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ : هُوَ ابْنُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ ، قَالَ : فَلَقِينَا
ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَقُلْنَا : إِنَّا رَأَيْنَا الْهِلَالَ ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ : هُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ ، وَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ : هُوَ ابْنُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ ، فَقَالَ : أَيَّ لَيْلَةٍ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ ؟ ، قَالَ : فَقُلْنَا : لَيْلَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَدَّهُ لِلرُّؤْيَةِ ، فَهُوَ لِلَيْلَةٍ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ " .
Abu'l-Bakhtari reported: We went out to perform 'Umrah and when we encamped in the valley of Nakhla, we tried to see the new moon. Some of the people said: It was three nights old, and others (said) that it was two nights old. We then met Ibn 'Abbas and told him we had seen the new moon, but that some of the people said it was three nights old and others that it was two nights old. He asked on which night we had seen it; and when we told him we had seen it on such and such night, he said the Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah (ﷺ) had said: Verily Allah deferred it till the time it is seen, so it is to be reckoned from the night you saw it.
Hadith 1088
Abu'l-Bakhtari reported: We saw the new moon of Ramadan as we were at Dhit-i-'Irq. We sent a man to Ibn Abbas (RA) (Allah be pleased with both of them) to ask him (whether the sighting of a small moon had something of the nature of defect in it). Upon this Ibn 'Abbas (Allah be pleased with both of them) said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had said: Verily Allah deferred its sight, but if (the new moon) is hidden from you, then, complete its number (thirty).
Hadith 1089
'Abd ar-Rahman bin Abu Bakra (RA) reported on the authority of Abu Bakra (RA) that the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) had said: The months of 'Id are not incomplete. And in the hadith narrated by Khalid (the words are):" The months, of 'Id are Ramadan and Dhu'l-Hijjah."

عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ سورة البقرة آية 187 ، قَالَ لَهُ عَدِيُّ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَجْعَلُ تَحْتَ وِسَادَتِي عِقَالَيْنِ : عِقَالًا أَبْيَضَ وَعِقَالًا أَسْوَدَ ، أَعْرِفُ اللَّيْلَ مِنَ النَّهَارِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ وِسَادَتَكَ لَعَرِيضٌ ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ سَوَادُ اللَّيْلِ ، وَبَيَاضُ النَّهَارِ " .
'Adi bin Hatim (RA) reported that when (this verse) was revealed: "Until the white streak of the dawn becomes distinct from the dark streak" (ii. 187) Adi bin Hatim said: Messenger of Allah, verily I keep underneath my pillow two strings, one white and the other black, by which I distinguish night from dawn. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Your pillow seems to be very large. For the word khait implies the blackness of the night and the whiteness of the dawn.

A hadith like this has been narrated on the authority of 'Ubaidullah on the two chains of transmitters.
Hadith 1093
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Sulaiman Taimi with the same chain of transmitters and, at the end, it was said that the first Adhan was meant to awaken those who were in slumber amongst them and in order to make them turn who stand in (prayer) among them (towards food at the commencement of the fast). Jarir (one of the narrators) said that the Messenger (ﷺ) did not say like this but he said like it (true dawn) that the streaks of (true dawn) are horizontal and not vertical.

Zaid bin Thabit (RA) said: We took meal shortly before dawn along with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) . We then stood up for prayer. I said: How much span of time was there between the two (acts, i. e. taking of Sahri and observing of prayer)? He said (a span of reciting) fifty verses.

ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَلَمَّا غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ : " انْزِلْ فَاجْدَحْ لَنَا " ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوْ أَمْسَيْتَ ، قَالَ : " انْزِلْ فَاجْدَحْ لَنَا " ، قَالَ : إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا نَهَارًا ، فَنَزَلَ فَجَدَحَ لَهُ ، فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ اللَّيْلَ قَدْ أَقْبَلَ مِنْ هَا هُنَا ، وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ ، فَقَدْ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ " ،
Ibn Abi Aufa (RA) reported: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on a journey. When the sun sank he said to a person: Get down and prepare barley meal for us. Upon this he said: Messenger of Allah, let there be dusk. (He the Holy Prophet) said: Get down and prepare barley meal for us. He (the person) said: There is still (the light of) day upon us. (But) he got down (in obedience to the command of the Holy Prophet) and prepared a barley meal for him and he (the Holy Prophet) drank that (liquid meal) and then said: When you see the night approaching from that side (west) (and he pointed towards the east with his hand), then the observer of the fast should break it.
Hadith 1102
Ibn 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed fasts uninterruptedly in Ramadan and the people (in his wake) did this. But he forbade them to do so. It was said to him (to the Holy Prophet): You yourself observe the fasts uninterruptedly (but you forbid us to do so). Upon this he said: I am not like you; I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah).
Hadith 1106
'A'isha reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to kiss me while observing fast; and who among you can control his desire as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) could control his desire.

Yahya ibn Yahya, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, and Abu Kurayb narrated to us. Yahya said: He informed us, and the other two said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim, from al-Aswad and Alqamah, from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her.
And Shuja' ibn Makhlad narrated to us, Yahya ibn Abi Za'idah narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Muslim, from Masruq, from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to kiss while he was fasting, and he used to embrace while he was fasting, but he was the most able of you to control his desire.
Hadith 1106
'Urwa bin Zubair narrated that 'A'isha the Mother of the Believers (Allah be pleased with her) informed him that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) kissed her while fasting.
