Hadith 1966
Shu'bah reported: Qatada informed me that he had heard Anas saying that Allah's Messenger (may peace be npon him) sacrificed (the horned rams) and like that. I said: Did you (Qatada) hear from Anas? He said. Yes.
Hadith 1968
Rafi' bin Khadij reported that he said: Allah's Messenger, we are going to encounter the enemy tomorrow. and we do not have large knives with us. The rest of the hadith is the same, but no mention is made of this:" The people hastened and they boiled (flesh) in the earthen pots. He (the Holy Prophet), cammanded and these were turned over and the narrator narrated the whole event.

Umm Salamah reported (these words) directly from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) : If anyone has in his possession a sacrificial animal to offer as a sacrifice (on 'Id al-Adha), he should not get his hair cut and nails trimmed after he has entered the first days of Dhu'l Hijja

عَلِيٌّ أَخَصَّكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ ؟ فَقَالَ : مَا خَصَّنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَعُمَّ بِهِ النَّاسَ ، كَافَّةً إِلَّا مَا كَانَ فِي قِرَابِ سَيْفِي هَذَا ، قَالَ : فَأَخْرَجَ صَحِيفَةً مَكْتُوبٌ فِيهَا " لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ ذَبَحَ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ ، وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ سَرَقَ مَنَارَ الْأَرْضِ ، وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ لَعَنَ وَالِدَهُ ، وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ آوَى مُحْدِثًا " .
Abu Tufail reported: 'Ali was asked whether Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had showed special favour (by disclosing to him) a thing (which he kept secret from others). Thereupon he said: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) singled us not for (disclosing to us) anything (secret) which he did not make public, (but those few things) which lie in the sheath of my sword. He drew out the written document contained in it and on that (it was mentioned): Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone else besides Allah; and Allah cursed him who stole the signposts (demarcating the boundary lines of the) land; and Allah cursed him who cursed his father; and Allah cursed him who accommodated an innovator (in religion).
Hadith 1984
Wa'il al-Hadrami reported that Tariq bin Suwaid a-Ju'fi asked Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) about liquor. He forbade (its use) and he expressed hatred that it should be prepared. He (Tariq) said: I prepare it as a medicine, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: It is no medicine, but an ailment.

'Ali reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade to prepare Nabidh in gourd and varnished jar. This hadith has been narrated through another chain of transmitters with a slight variation of wording.

لِابْنِ عُمَرَ : حَدِّثْنِي بِمَا نَهَى عَنْهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْأَشْرِبَةِ بِلُغَتِكَ وَفَسِّرْهُ لِي بِلُغَتِنَا ، فَإِنَّ لَكُمْ لُغَةً سِوَى لُغَتِنَا ، فَقَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْحَنْتَمِ وَهِيَ الْجَرَّةُ ، وَعَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَهِيَ الْقَرْعَةُ ، وَعَنِ الْمُزَفَّتِ وَهُوَ الْمُقَيَّرُ ، وَعَنِ النَّقِيرِ وَهِيَ النَّخْلَةُ تُنْسَحُ نَسْحًا وَتُنْقَرُ نَقْرًا ، وَأَمَرَ أَنْ يُنْتَبَذَ فِي الْأَسْقِيَةِ " .
Zadhan reported: I said to Ibn 'Umar (RA) : Tell me in your own language and then explain it to me in any language because your language is different from our language (about the vessels) in which Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) has forbidden (us) to drink. He said: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) has forbidden (the preparation) of Nabidh in Hantama and that is a pitcher (besmeared with pitch), in gourd and that is pumpkin, in the varnished jar, in hollow stump and in wooden vessels. This Naqir is the wood of date-palm from which the vessel is fashioned out or hollowed out, but he commanded us to prepare Nabidh in waterskins.

Abu Musa reported: Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) sent me and Mu'adh bin Jabal to Yemen. I said: Allah's Messenger, there is prepared in our land a wine out of barley which is known as Mizr (beer of our times) and a wine from honey which is known as Bit, (are these also forbidden? ), whereupon he said: Every intoxicant is forbidden.

Ibn 'Abbas reported that Nabidh was prepared for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) in the beginning of the night and he would drink it in the morning and the following night and the following day and the night after that up to the afternoon. If anything was left out of that he gave it to his servant, or gave orders for it to be poured out.

Ibn 'Abbas reported that Nabidh was prepared for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) in the waterskin, Shu'bah said: It was the night of Monday. He drank it on Monday and on Tuesday up to the afternoon, and If anything was left out of it he gave it to his servant or poured it out.

Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) reported: As we went along with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) from Makkah to Madinah, we passed by a shepherd and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was feeling thirsty. He ( Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) ) said: I milked for him a small quantity of milk (from his goat) and brought it to him (the Holy Prophet), and he drank it and I was very happy.

الْبَرَاءَ ، يَقُولَ : لَمَّا أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَأَتْبَعَهُ سُراقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ ، قَالَ : فَدَعَا عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَاخَتْ فَرَسُهُ ، فَقَالَ : ادْعُ اللَّهَ لِي وَلَا أَضُرُّكَ ، قَالَ : فَدَعَا اللَّهَ ، قَالَ : فَعَطِشَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَمَرُّوا بِرَاعِي غَنَمٍ ، قَالَ
أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ : " فَأَخَذْتُ قَدَحًا فَحَلَبْتُ فِيهِ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كُثْبَةً مِنْ لَبَنٍ فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهِ فَشَرِبَ حَتَّى رَضِيتُ " .
Al-Bara' reported: When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went forth from Makkah to Madinah, Suraqa bin Malik bin Ju'shum pursued him. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) invoked curse upon him, and his horse sank (in the desert). He (Suraqa) said: (Allah's Messenger), invoke blessings for me and I will do no harm to you. He (the Holy Prophet) then supplicated Allah. (At that time) he (the Holy Prophet) felt thirsty, and they happened to pass by a shepherd. Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) said: I took hold of a bowl and milked some milk into it for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and gave it to him. He drank it and I was pleased.

عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ ، قَالَ : نَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَبِي ، قَالَ : فَقَرَّبْنَا إِلَيْهِ طَعَامًا وَوَطْبَةً فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِتَمْرٍ ، فَكَانَ يَأْكُلُهُ وَيُلْقِي النَّوَى بَيْنَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ وَيَجْمَعُ السَّبَّابَةَ وَالْوُسْطَى ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : هُوَ ظَنِّي وَهُوَ فِيهِ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ إِلْقَاءُ النَّوَى بَيْنَ الْإِصْبَعَيْنِ ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِشَرَابٍ ، فَشَرِبَهُ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ الَّذِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، قَالَ ، فَقَالَ أَبِي : وَأَخَذَ بِلِجَامِ دَابَّتِهِ ادْعُ اللَّهَ لَنَا ، فَقَالَ : " بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِي مَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ " .
'Abdullah bin Busr reported: AUah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to my father and we brought to him a meal and a preparation from dates, cheese and butter. He ate out of that. He was then given dates which he ate but he placed their stones between his fingers, and he joined his forefinger and middle finger. Shu'bah reported: I think that this hadith God's willing also contains (these words): Putting of date stones between two fingers. Then a drink was brought for him and he drank it, and then gave it to one who was on his right side. He (the narrator) said: My father took hold of the rein of his riding animal and requested him to supplicate for us. Thereupon he said: O Allah. bless them in what Thou hast provided them as a sustenance; and forgive them and have mercy upon them.

ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَنَحْنُ نَأْكُلُ ، فَيَقُولُ : لَا تُقَارِنُوا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْإِقْرَانِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَأْذِنَ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ " ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : لَا أُرَى هَذِهِ الْكَلِمَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ كَلِمَةِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ يَعْنِي الِاسْتِئْذَانَ .
Jabala bin Suhaim reported: Ibn Zubair used to provide us with dates during the time that the people were hard pressed because of famine (Once) as we were busy in eating there happened to appear before us Ibn 'Umar. He said: Don't eat two dates together, for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade eating them together but only after seeking permission from his brother (partner). Shu'bah said: I do not think these words pertaining to seeking permission but from the words of Ibn 'Urnar.
Hadith 2045
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Shu'bah with the same chain of transmitters but these words of his (are not found): "The people were hard pressed because of the famine during those days."

I asked him whether that was forbidden, whereupon he said: No, but I do not like it because of its odour. He (Abu Ayyub Ansari) said: Then I also do not like what you do not like.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ash'ath bin Sulaim with the same chain of transmitters but with this difference that instead of the words: Ifsha as-Salam (spreading the salutations), he substituted the words Radd as-Salam (i. e. responding to the words of salutation) and he said: He forbade (the use of) gold ring.

Shu'bah reported from al-Hakam that he heard 'Abdul Rahmin (i. e. Ibn Abu Laila) as saying: I personally saw Hudhaifa asking for water in Mada'in and a man giving it to him in a silver vessel. The rest of the hadith is the same.

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَأَى عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ آلِ عُطَارِدٍ قَبَاءً مِنْ دِيبَاجٍ أَوْ حَرِيرٍ ، فَقَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَوِ اشْتَرَيْتَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذَا مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ " ، فَأُهْدِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حُلَّةٌ سِيَرَاءُ ، فَأَرْسَلَ بِهَا إِلَيَّ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ أَرْسَلْتَ بِهَا إِلَيَّ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُكَ قُلْتَ فِيهَا مَا قُلْتَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا بَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ لِتَسْتَمْتِعَ بِهَا " .
ibn 'Umar reported that 'Umar saw a person of the tribe of 'Utirid selling a garment made of brocade or silk and said to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) : Would that you buy it? Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: He who wears it has no share for him in the Hereafter. Then Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was presented with a striped silk garment and he sent it to him ('Umar). He (, Umar) said: You sent it to me whereas I heard from you about it what you had to say, whereupon he (Allah's Messenger) said: I sent it to you so that you may benefit by it.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar (RA) through another chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording (and the words are that the Holy Prophet) said: I sent it to you so that you might derive benefit from it. but I did not send it to you to wear it.

Khalifa bin Ka'b AbCi Dhubyan reported: I heard 'Abdullah bin Zubair addressing the people and saying: Behold! do not dress yuor women with silk clothes for I heard 'Umar bin Khattab as sayinp that he had heard Allah's messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Do not wear silk, for one who wear it in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter.

Qatada reported: I heard Abe 'Uthman al-Nahdi as saying: There came to us a letter of 'Umar as we were in Adharba'ijan or in Syria in the company of 'Utba bin Farqad (and the letter ran thus): After (usual praise and glorification of Allah) it is stated that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) has forbidden the use of silk btit to the extent of these two fingers, and Abu 'Uthman said: We at once understood by these words that he meant (silk) patterns on (the cloth).

'Ali reported: A silk cloak was presented to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . and he sent it to me and I wore it. but then found some sign of disapproval upon his face, whereupon he said: I did not send it to you that you wear it, but I sent it to you so that you might tear it and make out head dream for your women.
