Hadith 2167
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Suhail with the same chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording. The hadith transmitted on the authority of Waki', the words are 'When you meet the Jews." And in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Shu'bah, the words are: 'When you meet the People of the Book." And in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Jarir the words are: "When you meet them," but none amongst the polytheists has been mentioned explicitly by name.
Hadith 2171
Yahya ibn Yahya and Ali ibn Hujr narrated to us. Yahya said: He informed us, and Ibn Hujr said: Hushaym narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir.
And Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah and Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to us, they said: Hushaym narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr informed us, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Let no man spend the night with a woman who has been previously married except if he is married to her or is a mahram to her."
Hadith 2177
Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: No person should ask another person to stand at his place and then he should himself sit there, but he should simply say: Make room and accommodate.
Hadith 2184
'Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If you are three, two amongst you should not converse secretly between yourselves to the exclusion of the other (third one), until some other people join him (and dispel his loneliness), for it may hurt his feelings.

مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ
عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اشْتَكَى مِنَّا إِنْسَانٌ مَسَحَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَذْهِبْ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ ، وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا " ، فَلَمَّا مَرِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَثَقُلَ أَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ لِأَصْنَعَ بِهِ نَحْوَ مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ ، فَانْتَزَعَ يَدَهُ مِنْ يَدِي ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَاجْعَلْنِي مَعَ الرَّفِيقِ الْأَعْلَى " ، قَالَتْ : فَذَهَبْتُ أَنْظُرُ فَإِذَا هُوَ قَدْ قَضَى .
'A'isha reported: When any person amongst us fell ill, Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him) used to rub him with his right hand and then say: O Lord of the people, grant him health, heal him, for Thou art a Great Healer. There is no healer, but with Thy healing Power one is healed and illness is removed. She further added: When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) fell ill, and his illness took a serious turn I took hold of his hand so that I should do with it what he had done with that (i. e. I would rub his body with his sacred hand). But he withdrew his hand from my hand and then said: O Allah, pardon me and make me join the highest companion. She said: I was gazing at him constantly whereas he had passed away.
Hadith 2191
'A'isha reported that when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to visit any sick he supplicated for him and said: Lord of the people, remove the malady, cure him for Thou art a great Curer. There is no cure but through Thine healing Power which leaves no trouble, and in the narration transmitted on the authority of Abu Bakr (RA) there is a slight variation of wording.

عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا اشْتَكَى الْإِنْسَانُ الشَّيْءَ مِنْهُ أَوْ كَانَتْ بِهِ قَرْحَةٌ أَوْ جُرْح ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِإِصْبَعِهِ هَكَذَا وَوَضَعَ سُفْيَانُ سَبَّابَتَهُ بِالْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا " بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ تُرْبَةُ أَرْضِنَا بِرِيقَةِ بَعْضِنَا لِيُشْفَى بِهِ سَقِيمُنَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّنَا " ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ : يُشْفَى ، وقَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : لِيُشْفَى سَقِيمُنَا .
'A'isha reported that when any person fell ill with a disease or he had any ailment or he had any injury, the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) placed his forefinger upon the ground and then lifted it by reciting the name of Allah (and said): The dust of our ground with the saliva of any one of us would serve as a means whereby our illness would be cured with the sanction of Allah.
Hadith 2196
Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) granted him sanction to use incantation (as a cure) for the influence of an evil eye, the sting of the scorpion and small pustules.
Hadith 2209
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The fever is from the vehement raging of the (heat of Hell), so cool it with the help of water.
Hadith 287
Umm Qais, daughter of Mihsan, the sister of 'Ukasha bin Mihsan said: I visited Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) along with my son who had not, by that time, been weaned and he pissed over his (clothes). He ordered water to be brought and sprinkled (it) over them.

And it was narrated to me by Abu al-Tahir and Harmalah, who said: Ibn Wahb informed us, Younus informed me, from Ibn Shihab, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
And it was narrated to us by Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, and Amr al-Naqid, and Zuhair ibn Harb, and Ibn Abi Umar, who said: Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us.
And it was narrated to us by Abd ibn Humaid, who said: Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us.
And it was narrated to us by Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Darimi, who said: Abu al-Yaman informed us, Shu'ayb informed us—all of them from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with a narration similar to that of 'Uqayl. And in the narration of Sufyan and Younus: "the black seed," and he did not say "al-shuniz."
Hadith 2223
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no hama, no divination, but I like good omen.

And Ibn Abi ‘Umar narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim and Hamzah, the two sons of ‘Abdullah, from their father, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
And Yahya ibn Yahya, and ‘Amr al-Naqid, and Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
And ‘Amr al-Naqid narrated to us, Ya‘qub ibn Ibrahim ibn Sa‘d narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Salih, from Ibn Shihab, from Salim and Hamzah, the two sons of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar, from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
And ‘Abd al-Malik ibn Shu‘ayb ibn al-Layth ibn Sa‘d narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from my grandfather, ‘Uqayl ibn Khalid narrated to me.
And Yahya ibn Yahya narrated to us, Bishr ibn al-Mufaddal informed us, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ishaq.
And ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Darimi narrated to me, Abu al-Yaman informed us, Shu‘ayb informed us, all of them from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding bad omens, similar to the hadith of Malik. None of them mention in the hadith of Ibn ‘Umar contagion and bird omens except Yunus ibn Yazid.

Abu Sa'id Khudri reported Allah's Messenger having said: There is a group of jinns in Madinah who accepted Islam, so he who would see anything from these occupants should warn him three times; and if he appears after that, he should kill him for he is a satan.

This hadith has been reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) through another chain of transmitters (and the words are): - He who killed a gecko with the first stroke for him are ordained one hundred virtues, and with the second one less than that and with the third one less than that.

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: None of you should use the word al-Karm (for grape) for the heart of a believer is karm (worthy of respect).

This hadith has been reported by Alqama bin Wa'il on the authority of his father with a different chain of transmitters and with a slight variation of wording.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ : عَبْدِي ، فَكُلُّكُمْ عَبِيدُ اللَّهِ ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ فَتَايَ ، وَلَا يَقُلِ الْعَبْدُ : رَبِّي ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ : سَيِّدِي " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: None of you should say: My bondman, for all of you are the bondmen of Allah, but say: My young man, and the servant should not say: My Lord, but should say: My chief.
Hadith 2253
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who is presented with a flower should not reject it, for it is light to carry and pleasant in odour.

'Amr bin Sharid reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked him to recite poetrv, the rest of the hadith is the same, out with this addition: "He (that is Umayya bin Abu Sharid was about to become a muslim" and in the hadith transmitted on the authority, of Ibn Mahdi (the words are) "He was almost a Muslim in his poetry."
Hadith 2260
Book 028, Number 5612: Buraida reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: He who played chess is like one who dyed his hand with the flesh and blood of swine.

Ubadah bin as-Samit reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The vision of a believer is the forty-sixth part of Prophecy.

Hadith 2299
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Ibn 'Umar and the words are: That he said there would be before you a Cistern extending from Jarba' and Adhruh and the same has been transmitted on the authority of Ibn Muthanna and the wording is: "My Cistern."

Thauban reported this hadith pertaining to the Cistern. Muhammad bin Bashshar said: I said to Yahya bin Hammad.

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Anas bin Malik (RA) with this addition: "More numerous than stars in the sky."

أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، أَخَذَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ بِيَدِي ، فَانْطَلَقَ بِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أَنَسًا غُلَامٌ كَيِّسٌ ، فَلْيَخْدُمْكَ ، قَالَ : فَخَدَمْتُهُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْحَضَرِ ، وَاللَّهِ مَا قَالَ لِي لِشَيْءٍ صَنَعْتُهُ ، لِمَ صَنَعْتَ هَذَا هَكَذَا ، وَلَا لِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَصْنَعْهُ ، لِمَ لَمْ تَصْنَعْ هَذَا هَكَذَا " .
Anas reported: When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to Madinah, Abu Talha took hold of my hand and brought me to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said: Allah's Messenger, Anas is a prudent young boy, and he will serve you. He (Anas) said: I served him in journey and at home, but, by Allah, he never asked me about a thing which I did as to why I did so, nor about a thing which I did not do as to why I had not done that.

أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا كَانَ أَرْحَمَ بِالْعِيَالِ ، مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ مُسْتَرْضِعًا لَهُ فِي عَوَالِي الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَكَانَ يَنْطَلِقُ وَنَحْنُ مَعَهُ ، فَيَدْخُلُ الْبَيْتَ ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيُدَّخَنُ ، وَكَانَ ظِئْرُهُ قَيْنًا ، فَيَأْخُذُهُ فَيُقَبِّلُهُ ، ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ " ، قَالَ
عَمْرٌو : فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ابْنِي ، وَإِنَّهُ مَاتَ فِي الثَّدْيِ ، وَإِنَّ لَهُ لَظِئْرَيْنِ تُكَمِّلَانِ رَضَاعَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported: I have never seen anyone more kind to one's family than Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) , and Ibrahim was sent to the suburb of Madinah for suckling. He used to go there and we accompanied him. He entered the house, and it was filled with smoke as his foster-father was a bricksmith. He took him (his son Ibrahim) and kissed him and then came back. 'Amr said that when Ibrahim died, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Ibrahim is my son and he dies as a suckling babe. He has now two foster-mothers who would complete his suckling period in Paradise.
Hadith 2319
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Jabir bin 'Abdullah through different chains of transmitters and the words are: "That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: He who shows no mercy to the people, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, does not show mercy to him."
Hadith 2320
'Ubaydullah ibn Mu'adh narrated to me, my father narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, he heard 'Abdullah ibn Abi 'Utbah narrating, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri.
And Zuhayr ibn Harb, and Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna, and Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us. Zuhayr said: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from Qatadah, he said: I heard 'Abdullah ibn Abi 'Utbah say: I heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri say:
"The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was more modest than a virgin in her seclusion, and when he disliked something, we would recognize it in his face."
Hadith 2321
Masruq reported: We went to'Abdullah bin 'Amr when Mu'dwiya came to Kufa, and he made a mention of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said: He was never immoderate in his talk and he never reviled others. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) also said: The best amongst you are those who are best in morals. 'Uthman said: When he came to Kufa along with Mu'awiyah... (The rest of the hadith is the same).
Hadith 2323
وحَدَّثَنِي
عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ،
وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ ، قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : حَدَّثَنَا

أَنَسٍ ، " أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَتَى عَلَى أَزْوَاجِهِ وَسَوَّاقٌ يَسُوقُ بِهِنَّ ، يُقَالُ لَهُ : أَنْجَشَةُ ، فَقَالَ : وَيْحَكَ يَا أَنْجَشَةُ ، رُوَيْدًا سَوْقَكَ بِالْقَوَارِيرِ " ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ : تَكَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكَلِمَةٍ ، لَوْ تَكَلَّمَ بِهَا بَعْضُكُمْ ، لَعِبْتُمُوهَا عَلَيْهِ .
Anas reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) came to his wives as the camel-driver who was called Anjasha had been driving the camels on which they were riding. Thereupon he said: Anjasha, be careful, drive slowly for you are driving the mounts who carry vessels of glass. Abu Qilaba said that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) uttered words which if someone had uttered amongst you, you would have found fault with him.
Hadith 2327
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Shibab through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2330
Anas reported: I never smelt ambergris or musk as fragrant as the fragrance of the body of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and I never touched brocade or silk and found it as soft as the body of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) .

حَدَّثَنِي
زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا
هَاشِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ
سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ
ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ
أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَنَامْ عِنْدَنَا ، فَعَرِقَ ، وَجَاءَتْ أُمِّي بِقَارُورَةٍ ، فَجَعَلَتْ تَسْلِتُ الْعَرَقَ فِيهَا ، فَاسْتَيْقَظَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ ، مَا هَذَا الَّذِي تَصْنَعِينَ ؟ قَالَتْ : هَذَا عَرَقُكَ نَجْعَلُهُ فِي طِيبِنَا ، وَهُوَ مِنْ أَطْيَبِ الطِّيبِ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) used to come to our house and there was perspiration upon his body. My mother brought a bottle and began to pour the sweat in that. When Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) got up he said: Umm Sulaim, what is this that you are doing? Thereupon she said: That is your sweat which we mix in our perfume and it becomes the most fragrant perfume.
Hadith 2338
Anas reported that the hair of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came upon his shoulders.
