Book of Knowing the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them)
تُوُفِّيَ أَبُو الْهَيْثَمِ فِي خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Abu al-Haytham (may Allah be pleased with him) died during the caliphate of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)

حدثنا (2) سعيدُ بن راشِد عن صالح بن كَيْسان قال: تُوفي أبو الهَيثم ابن التَّيَّهان في خلافة عمر بن الخطاب (3).
It is reported from Salih bin Kaysan that Abu al-Haytham bin al-Tayyihan (may Allah be pleased with him) died during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).

Reference / Source: (3) It is in "al-Tabaqat al-Kubra" of Ibn Sa'd (3/ 413), narrated from Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi.
وأخرجه ابن أبي خيثمة في السفر الثالث من "تاريخه" (1725) عن أبي الحسن علي بن محمد المدائني عن سعيد بن راشد.
Reference / Source: Ibn Abi Khaythamah recorded it in the third part (sifr) of his "Tarikh" (1725) from Abu al-Hasan Ali bin Muhammad al-Mada'ini, from Sa'id bin Rashid.
